The best farm stay!

Wendy communicated really well before hand so no problems there. Was there at check in and welcomed us and showed us around and introduced the dogs!The property was fantastic to walk around, engage with the animals and get involed as much as we wanted - without any pressure.The puppies were a fantstic suprise and the hardest part of this trip was not to go home with a new puppie.Myself/ my wife and two daughters loved the stay and will come back.Highly recommended!

An unexpected bonus: rural life at its best.

Lovely stay on a lifestyle block

Great stay on an active lifestyle block with 8 dogs (8 tiny puppies), 2 pigs and a small herd of sheep. Wendy welcomed us and gave us a tour of holding including animals, creek and native bush. We were also lucky enough to see 2.5 week old collie puppies. Accommodation is modern, clean and well designed. Easy 10 minute drive into fielding for food. Thank you Wendy we enjoyed our stay.

Great Stay

We loved meeting Wendy and her animals. She and the dogs gave us a full tour of the farm, which was beautiful. The lodging was clean and well stocked, and we slept well.

Relaxing getaway

Wendy hosted us at her beautiful farm home. An evening walk feeding the animals was a highlight! Wendy is very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Was a lovely get away having the peaceful garden and farm as a backdrop as we enjoyed some dinner from a local restaurant. Would return in a heartbeat. Thanks to Wendy for opening up her home for others to enjoy a bit of the farm lifestyle :)

A Vision and A Mission

The studio itself is not the most spacious for a big family stay. The air conditioning is in the bedroom with the queen bed. The sofa bed in the loungeroom has enough blankets to keep warm during winter stay. Kitchen unit is in the loungeroom with the TV on top attached to the wall. Light cooking is possible, along the lines of pot noodles and a quick sandwich with the microwave. What gives this place its light is the people behind it. Wendy is an exceptional host, accommodating and polite in attending to her guests. The studio is her vision to bring exposure of farm life to the urban world, and we had the opportunity to listen to her mission in giving a down-to-earth farm experience to adults and children alike, many whom may have only touched smartphones and laptops in their entire lives. Little touches of decorations in the studio providing information of the Aotearoa birds and plants, famous words related to the Kiwis as well as the studio's construction are testimonies of her effort. Gum boots are provided for guests during the farm tour, size permitting. The animals are a curious bunch. Expect mud action when picking your attire, its a farm after all. On a sunny/dry day, there are plenty of farmland to stroll, with open stream just behind the studio. Very dark surroundings at night, perfect for stargazing. A very thought-provoking stay for us, with good company by Wendy and Sheila. Highly recommended.

Outstanding experience!

It was a pleasure to stay at Wendy's property. We were on a very busy schedule, driving from Auckland for a major event. Wendy has been so accommodating as a host: being flexible with late check-in, getting the beds ready, leaving detailed instructions on how to find the property and access our rooms. The sleepout was comfortable, modern, clean and warm! Definitely would stay again!

Super friendly, warm and comfy Bach in Halcomb

We stayed at this Bach for our 12 year old sons Schools Road Cycling Champs. It was super convenient for the race venues and my own training whilst being secure and very cosy. We actually bought a border collie pup From Wendy the owner so glad we stayed here!!
