Hands down one of the best air b&b we have stayed at! Very cozy, full of comfort as well history within the walls itself! The location is completely beautiful and accommodating! Coffee maker, clean bedding and cloths. So very impressive with all items updated and ready to be used. The Doyle's have went above and beyond to ensure you have a comfortable stay at their location. We can't wait to go back. You will not regret booking this for a weekend away!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The house is on a quiet street, there is ample parking in the back, the backyard is huge and beautiful, we had everything we needed and the century home was really cool. Would definitely stay here again.

The house was absolutely amazing and exceeded expectations. We were able to stay and not have to worry about a single thing - linens and towels provided. Coffee and tea was made available, as well. The owner left notes on each floor as a guide - very helpful! I initially had trouble booking through Vrbo - but the owner was very helpful and prompt in reaching out! Definitely a wonderful spot to stay, right in downtown Sharpsburg - would highly recommend!

Beautiful home in historic location

My long time friends (50 years) and I planned a weekend reunion and rented this property for the weekend. The house is a beautifully restored historic located in the downtown area. Our only complaint was that not all the beds are comfortable for 60 year old men. The master suite was excellent and the bed outside the master suite was comfortable, but the pull out sofas in the basement were - as are all pull out sofas, less than ideal for older people. Otherwise, the house is excellently maintained with a recently updated bathroom.

Great weekend in Sharpsburg

This is a wonderful modified log cabin house in Sharpsburg Maryland. Main floor has compact kitchen, living, dining room and full bath. Ground level is a very cosy living room/den with a fireplace. Upstairs is a comfy bedroom with half bath and an outside room with a daybed. Nicely antiquey furnishings, plenty of games, books, pamphlets, dog toys (!), baby gate (!). Excellent supply of good coffee. (Critical).We were here to see two plays at the Sheperdstown (WVa) contemporary theater festival- outstanding (about 5 minutes away). Had a great dinner in SHeperdstown outside at the Blue Moon Diner. Spent Saturday touring the Antietam Battlefield adjacent to Sharpsburg and hiked on Sunday along the C and O canal tow path- the Antietam creek is crossed by what was an aquaduct where the canal went over the river via the aquaduct (now the way you cross by foot or bike).All in all, a lovely chill weekend away from Baltimore. THe hosts Vernell and Tim are great at responding over the VRBO app.

A Taste of History at Antietam House

Everything was great. We loved the flowers. I was checking out all the pictures and quilts. It stayed quiet, no traffic or fire calls. It was neat for sure.
This is our puppy Shiloh. This was her first trip. It was nice for her to have room to be out in the yard.

For being 166 years old, the home was wonderful! Loved the back deck, Nuggets ice cream and being able to stroll through town. The battlefield tour was awesome. Highly recommend the hosts and residence. I’d gladly stay there again.

Cozy and authentic

It was such a treat to stay in this unique old house. The basement is built right into the rock hill! The house is comfortable and convenient even though it has seen so many years. The hosts did a great job decorating and taking care of it. We would love to come back on a warmer weekend and enjoy the yard.

Mother/Daughter weekend

We explored Harper’s Ferry and Antietam Battlefield over a beautiful fall weekend. Neither of us are history buffs and didn’t pay much attention to it in school so we learned quite a bit at the National Parks. The home was a perfect theme and location for our weekend. It was interesting to see how the people of the time lived but with modern amenities. We are both tall ladies, (5’11”) so we had to watch our heads. Stairs are steep and tight.
