The motel was very nice and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was also convenient to down town Guntersville. We had an awesome stay and plan to return in October for our siblings reunion.

I reserved 1 room with 2 queens beds and upon checking in I was given my key and when i entered my room it was 1 king bed. Not what i reserved-i went back to the front desk and informed the employee Chris that he gave me the wrong room because I reserved 2 double beds. Chris then stated “oh you booked through Expedia and although you reserved 2 queen beds they put you in whatever they want you to have” I said how is that possible because if i wanted a king i would’ve reserved just that. I went to 3 other hotels and to no availability I ended back up at the Hampton Inn in a room I didn’t reserve. I contacted Expedia and was informed that they did not change my reservation as the employee Chris had told me. So it was midnight and they (Expedia) were trying to find me another room but I was exhausted, pissed off with a child and i refused to pack everything back up and go to another hotel and then that reservation not be available. I am pissed at Hampton Inn and Expedia because it was ridiculous.

Unfortunately we have no control over those reservations. We will always do our best to provide you with whatever you book. I read your comments and you were correct the entire city and area was sold out and our doubles were booked 4 months out. Again, we are sorry and hope to see you again when in the area. Used Digital Key for the first time and loved it! It is much quicker and works very well. I will remember this feature the next time I visit a Hilton! The staff servicing in the continental breakfast were extremely friendly. They made you feel like they really appreciated your business. Thank you!

We had a tournament there, and it was convenient to where we needed to be. Also close to food, and very close to the lake if that’s what people wanted to be near to.

Property is extremely run down. Carpets are full of stains and room smelled really bad. Wallpaper in the hallways is coming off the walls. Property is really dated.

Dear JeanieWe are sorry about the hotel being run down. It is 21 years old and we have been approved for our full renovation as of the17th of July. We have already ordered new furniture, Wall Paper new tubs, showers etc. to do a complete renovation of the hotel. Interior and Exterior. The hotel is convenient to everything. We were there to fish and everything was less than a five minute drive. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Coffee all day. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was awkward that we arrived 25 minutes before check-in time and was told to wait because our room was not ready. I feel we could have completed check-in at least. We went over and sat in an attractive lobby area and waited till called. We did get a clean room with a great view. Handicap parking is under a group of bird nests which are used to eat bugs. Very ecologically friendly, but need to make time to wash off sidewalk below at least once a day. Great people and great stay. Thank you.

Sometimes if we have huge groups and we did all rooms cannot be ready on time because checkout is 12:00.The birds are a huge problem and we are working to make sure they don't return the next season. It was conveniently located, quiet, and felt safe. I wish we could have stayed in the original roomed we were booked for. It was on the 3rd floor with a lake view, but it hadn't been cleaned so we were transferred to the 1st floor with a view of the parking lot. They need more people at the front desk when they are busy. Also, needs a remodel. Wasn't really worth $200.

Smelly room.
Service was great, breakfast was good, bed was comfortable, location was good but our room (411) smelt musty, almost like someone had smoked in our room. I borrowed Lysol from housekeeping and sprayed it constantly. Hotel room could definitely use updating!

Arrived to a room that had been occupied previously without being cleaned or linens changed. Waited 45 minutes for another room and on day to the card to enter the room would not function. Had to get the key reprogrammed and never heard anything from management about making it right. Will not stay again.

I have researched to see why the room was dirty and it was a internal error on the part of our housekeeping dept. I have addressed the situation so it doesn't happen again. Since your room was booked through Expedia I cannot change or refund your room. I would have been more than happy to refund you first night as I wanted to do when I heard what happened. When you use a 3rd party company we are not allowed to change anything. I would love to give you a free night if you return to Guntersville in the future or send you a 150.00 gift card.Please call me or Beth Brown at the hotel so we can discuss this with you. Outdated rooms. Sadly the best hotel in the area. wife had an issue with hair dryer and nowhere in the room to call front desk or instructions to call for help. went down to desk and they stated since it was hardwired couldn't do anything. for $260 expected better.

Dear Michael We apologize for the inconvenience you encountered about the hair dryer. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Our hairdryers are mounted to the wall but they are not hardwired. I understand the desk clerk went to get one for your room and a lady told her never mind and used some very vulgar language toward her about the price of the room and us being in the middle of nowhere. The hair dryer in room 410 does work. We checked it. Every phone in the rooms have directions on it. Dial zero for the desk, I checked the room I think you were in and directions were on the phone. We are 20 years old and currently starting renovations immediately, if all goes well. We are waiting on Hilton to approve the drawings now. A contractor is in the waiting line to start. Again we are sorry you were not happy with our hotel this is not normal for us. We hope you will give us another chance when in Guntersville. Sincerely

For a Hampton inn this was an older property and not the freshest inviting room. For the price I feel this should be nicer and updated. The room had a musty smell and the tub shower did not drain properly. Other than that it was clean and safe.

Enjoyable stay
We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was great every morning. The pool area was clean and the kids had fun swimming. They didn’t keep the pool towels stocked but that’s a minor thing. The fitness room was nice to work off all that food we were eating and it was really close to the lake. We were able to watch the fireworks show from the comfort of our hotel room.

Horrific Room
This hotel had a 9.0 rating so we were excited to stay. We pulled in at noon originally but they said the room wasn't ready so we came back at 5 and when we got to the room it smelled of cigarette smoke, had stains on the furniture and curtains and the pullout sofa was decades old. The sofa mattress also had stains on it. The shower was the worst part bc it was stained and had been glued back together where pieces had broken, and the tub was broken in the center. It moved under your feet and water puddled where the floor of the tub was indented from the broken fiberglass. TERRIBLE!!! My son immediately begain coughing and we both had a headache within 15 minutes. I packed us up and went back to the lobby to let them know we could not stay there. They did not have any other rooms available and said they were so sorry, and took my information for the manager to call me Monday. Never heard from management. We drove to Huntsville an hour away and stayed at a professional, clean, updated, non smoking hotel for a lesser price in downtown Huntsville. A better atmosphere and experience altogether, but we would have rather slept in the car than stay in this room at this Hampton.

This hotel was ok, but not as nice as other Hamptons that we have stayed in. It is in need of an update. Also, breakfast was supposed to be until 10am. We went down at 9:30. They were almost out of everything and they were not going to make more. If they are offering breakfast, they should have it.
