Nature paradise just a few feet away
We enjoyed our three day stay, very comfy beds, everything there that we needed to cook our dinner. Great tv with Stan and Amazon. But the beauty of the Grove is that the bird life, and creek across the road is so very special.

Perfect farm-stay experience!
We had hoped for a getaway experience where we could relax with our 2 dogs and experience a farm stay. What we got far exceeded our expectations! The yard was perfectly secure for our little Houdini, whilst being large enough for the soccer-mad staffy. The home was like stepping back into our grandparents’ home - with all the love and cleanliness and personal touches. But it had lovely modern surprises, including a smart TV and a huge updated bathroom! Our host had prepped the open fire to the point it just needed a lit match… with plenty of spare wood to see us through an ice age! The kitchen was well equipped, (loved the sandwich toaster!) But you can’t go past the famous steak meal at the Gunny pub! Worth every penny! Loved the town, loved the comfy bed, loved the views, loved the Gunbower people… will definitely be coming back! And will, most definitely want to stay here again!

Restful
Old but clean and tidy. Functional kitchen, split sytems in 2 bedrooms and lounge (which flowed into kitchen). 2 TV'S ( one with movies, sport etc). In all, comfortable.

Relaxtion Plus!
This is the second time that our family has stayed at one of the farm stay properties. We were not disappointed. The property was absolutely amazing boasting a fantastic location with serene water views peeking through the trees from the front yard, close proximity and a good walk or pushbike ride to the local cafe (a must visit for the best home - made pies, treats and great coffee), pub and roadhouse, a securely fenced yard for dogs and everything you really could ask for, including kayaks and a basketball ring. All basic cooking utensils / amenities are provided including drinking water. The outdoor seating area is beautiful, tucked away at the front of the house where you can spend hours overlooking the lush green garden and beautiful trees. Firewood is also provided for the indoor fireplace and there is also an outdoor fire pit and BBQ. There is a boat ramp within a few hundred metres where you can launch your fishing boat. A comfortable getaway to unwind and relax with your entire family including your fur babies. Sean was excellent with his communication.

Peace and tranquility.
We had a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing 10 days at "The Grove". This charming and quirky old farmhouse had all we needed for our stay. The "loo with a view" out the back was a blast from the past for us. Great bathroom with plenty of room and the best shower. We especially appreciated the secure back yard for our 2 little "fur kids" and they had a great time pretending to be farm dogs. We even caught some fish. Thank you to Sean and the Richards family for making their property available, especially for those of us who prefer to holiday with their dogs. Highly recommend to anyone needed a break from their busy life. Sean is very approachable and quick to reply to queries and we hope to return in the future.

Wonderf place
A truly unique and wonderful place, old world charm , comfy and welcoming property, the energy of the garden and gum trees are really special, my dogs loved it as did I, the whistling kites were special to , we will be back for sure and cannot wait, A big thankyou to owners for sharing this special place!!

Our stay at the grove
The atmosphere is amazing and the house is lovely but the one thing that lets it down is the cleanliness. The place is never cleaned ever We've stayed there a number of times and there is dust flies and cobwebs in every room especially in the kitchen above the stove and food prep areas that are still there from the last time we were there. I don't like to complain but something really needs to be done. Apart from that everything else was great

A place of peace & nature
Peace, tranquillity, natures beauty. I totally enjoyed my extended stay @ The Grove in Gunbower. The host Sean was very kind & helpful, bringing cut wood for the fire & making sure l was well looked after, while granting me my privacy. The old farm house, while it is not a posh & polish City house, it is full of caricature & charm. The bird life is a pure joy to hear & watch each day, along with delightful walks at your doorstep & scenic drives close by. Now all you pet owners that travel with your beloved 4 legged family members, The Grove is a pets on holidays paradise! I brought my beloved old cat Mr lnky with me & he was completely safe & very much enjoyed his adventurous walks with me every day on his harness. The Grove has all that you need for a holiday in the Countryside, but if you want posh or need the buzz of a Town & pesty ppl, you best stay elsewhere as this is the bush Country, a place for nature lovers. Echuca Township is a 25 min drive, so bring groceries. However there is awesome food to be found in Gunbower, just try The Workshop Cafe!

Comfortable, rustic farm house with everything you need in peaceful country surrounds.Ample heating for a stay during winter including fireplace, heaters in bedrooms and electric blankets. Secure yard for the dog is great and it’s an easy drive to Echuca and 5 mins to Gunbower.

The Grove - review
We have three dogs which were our main concern when booking. The property is perfect for dogs with a secure fenced yard at the rear. A new wood burner had just been installed which gave the kitchen and living area a warm cosy feel. It's rustic but has everything you need in terms of amenities. A quiet and secluded spot but close enough to walk to the local cafe and hotel. Excellent base to explore Echuca, Moama and the surrounding national parks.

Nice Cozy Getaway
The place is very old but that's no surprise as its a country farm house. Sean had everything we needed at hand and the fire was blaring for our arrival. Plenty of wood to keep it going too. Also heaters elsewhere so happy with our stay but is a 3k drive to the pub and local store so best bring some breakfast supplies at least

Weekend Away
We had a lovely two night stay. Everything was made easy for us. Wood fire was ready to start and check in was very smooth. Had the best weather. Went for lovely walks along the creek every morning. The Grove is very close to Cohuna and Echuca which was ideal for us. Will be back.

Country Escape
We had a 6 night stay at The Grove over Easter. It’s a cute farm house with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Surrounded by farmland and wetlands there’s lots to do for a low key country escape. Great for kids and a dog. Sean was a great host and responded to requests very quickly. Short stay
We didnt stay our two nights dust triggered grandson's asthma. The house is cozy but needs a good clean, lodt of dust and spiderwebs. The dirt rd at the front, very dangerous , a ute drove past at high speed , scary to think it could have hurt a child. I think the house and area suited for adults.. House not equipped for children.

If you have city standards of cleanliness and want it new, it’s not for you. ‘The Grove’ is a rustic 1950s home, set in peaceful countryside right beside a thriving wetlandsfull of birds (and bugs, but that’s the country). A place to kick back and relax. A BRILLIANT bakery in town. And a very reasonable price.

The Grove was a fantastic place to stay when travelling with a dog. We had everything we needed and the host was great in recommending things we could do in the area. The location right on the creek was beautiful, we had fun kayaking on the lagoon and watching all the bird life. We will definitely be back.
