Nice place in a quiet neighborhood.

Property was nice and worked well for our stay. The neighborhood was fairly quiet though you could hear some of the traffic noise from the hwy if you were outside. This is actually a duplex unit which isn’t obvious from the pictures though the other units entrance is on the other side of the house so it felt private and we never heard anything from the adjacent unit. There is a small pond behind the house with a “don’t feed the alligators” sign but we never saw any. Just some turtles and birds. The pool shown in pictures is actually a community pool (there is another bigger one in the center of the development). It is right adjacent to the unit so privacy/noise could be an issue in the warmer months when more people use it. It was too chilly when we were there to swim. The king size bed is not in the room with the master bath, though it does have a connecting door to the main bathroom. The beds were comfortable though one of them squeaked a lot when used. Kitchen cabinets/countertop are starting to show a little bit of wear. Had adequate cooking supplies. Fort Morgan is a 20 min drive from downtown Gulf shores. The unit doesn’t come with extra TP/paper towels/laundry soap so you will have to purchase your own. There were a few spices provided but no condiments etc in the fridge to use so plan accordingly. There are a few sand toys provided. There is public access/parking to the beach a very short drive away but it isn’t really walkable from the unit.

Great Place to stay

Everything presented online was spot on. The only issue we had was the dryer was broken. That was kind of a big deal to me. We needed to wash and dry baseball uniforms as we were there for a week long baseball tournament. I was very impressed with the communication from the property staff prior to our arrival. Check in and out process was seamless. The house was clean and tidy and met our expectations. Should have been.a 5 star review, but the lack of a dryer has me giving 4 stars instead.

Nice but to far away

the house is in a quiet area. inside the house clean and tidy. the beach is 5 minutes away but if you have small children to go to the gulf shores area it takes you 25 to 35 minutes to get to that area. There is only one gas station 15 minutes away. Walmart is 40 minutes away. I recommend that you bring your shampoo because they only provide one bar of soap. also no hair dryer. the kitchen is well equipped with pots and a little scratched from teflon. The pool, the water was super hot, it's understandable because it was super hot when we went, but in reality, if you don't like boiling water, you're not going to get in. I never saw people inside. the mattresses are a bit soft you sink into them your back hurts the next day. Is a great place but to far away for the entertainment.

Overall Great!

Although it was a little bit of a trek down Ft Morgan it was worth it! The neighborhood was great and quiet, we enjoyed the pools and short walk to the beach. There were a few restaurants near by so we didn’t have to drive in to town and deal with traffic. We used the nearby Ferry to visit other sites. We liked the little condo and having 3beds/2baths and were super thankful for the space since it rained almost everyday. The screened in porch was a blessing! The not so great - it was a little dirty. Carpets, couches, rugs all need to be steam cleaned. There were food spots on walls and floor. No extra linens (sheets or blankets or pillow cases). The mattresses were not super comfortable. The King was so soft you almost felt like you were sinking to the floor, the full was too hard, and the queen was okay. The private bathroom was attached to the room with the queen instead of king. The dryer only worked on certain settings. For the price it was still worth it. I would go directly through Poole and associates next time instead of booking through this site.

Clean Place with plenty of space for four

Property was clean. Small pool was right next door. The only down side for us was that there weren't a lot of places to ride our bikes which we like to do, and the beach/water was not great while we were there, but that may just have been the weather.

Property needs a few upgrades. Needs more silverware. Sheets on beds are too small. Have to remake beds everyday. Could use some new rugs. New bath rugs also. The small pool by house is kept up very nice.

Would stay here again

The home is in such a lovely area, it is very peaceful. Having the pool right outside of your door is a huge plus especially when you have kids. The only downfalls which I see have been mentioned and comments on here previously by other renters are thing such as the fridge is very noisy, it makes it hard to sleep in the living room or the room next to it but it does keep everything cold. The bedroom with a double sized bed in it is rock hard but I know that everyone has their own preference when it comes to mattresses. There is a board in the kitchen floor that seems to be pretty weak and really should be replaced. The floor itself is pretty rough however, it did not hinder our stay. My biggest complaint which is more of a request or a suggestion is for the home to have a folder or a binder that includes information such as dumpster locations, both pool locations, location of beach access, golf cart rental information, and maybe support the restaurants or things to do in the area by providing their information as well. We had to spend some time looking for these things and it would have just been easier had they provided this information from the beginning. There is a hose to rinse off your stuff after going to the beach on the side of the house which we did not realize until day 3. Overall the place was nice the area is lovely the beach is beautiful and not nearly as congested as it is and gulf shore. The place does appear different than what the pictures show on VRBO as it seems they are attempting to update things which is great. Internet is pretty so keep that in mind I am unsure if it was just our mobile provider or if it was because you're kind of out on the peninsula so maybe the service is just not that great however, you are there for vacation so it may help you stay more in the moment and less on your mobile devices. Hope you enjoy your stay just as much as we did!

Cute beach cottage

I was looking for something that was a little quieter than the main strip but still close to the beach. This condo fit that bill. Location is ideal; loved the quiet outdoors at night but beach is a quick walk and that two outdoor pools are a bonus. Beds were comfy and plenty of space in the cottage. Could use a really good deep clean. Kitchen was adequately stocked but could use a few more items (pizza cutter, a can opener that works, a big pan,etc). Only suggestion I have is to include an information sheet for guests detailing the route to get to the beach, where the dumpsters are located, etc. We would definitely not hesitate to stay here again.

Great little get away

Great location great experience needs a little more involvement with guest about rule of community and where things are to be taken. (Garbage) found it after a little search with the kids. But would spend time here again hopefully on the near future.

This house was clean, light and airy and nicely furnished. We had everything we needed. As listed it had no WiFi. We were able to access internet through Verizon, although it was spotty and slow. Nice small pool right next to house, a larger pool close by and the gulf a few blocks away. Very quiet.

Relax, relax, relax!!!

The cabin is cute and very homey. It was clean and cozy to relax on rainy days and wind down on the busy ones. I love how the home is removed from the hustle and bustle of most of the beaches in the area. We walked to the beach in 7 minutes and drove on days when we wanted to take a bunch of stuff and unload. During times of Covid it is especially safe; there is no reason to be too close to anyone! The small neighborhood pool is literally right outside the door. We enjoyed it several times. The only issue with that is that the sand flies are OUTRAGEOUS outside, so you will want to wear bug spray.

Highly Recommend BUT Disclosure Issues

Overall, our 5-day stay was awesome. I guess last fall a hurricane came in a damaged the hot tub and tennis courts. The hot tub wasn't functioning at the proper temp (was warm but not hot) and the tennis courts were closed down. I wish that would have at least been mentioned in the online listing. I was really looking forward to tennis. The location is awesome as there is public beach access a mere 5 minute drive away. The Sassy Bass restaurant and market is super cool. There aren't too many neighbors and those we experienced were very nice. Also Fort Morgan historical site and Bon Secour National Wildlife Reserve are right there. Our refrigerator made noises so loud that one could not sleep in the room next to it. Hopefully that's fixed for the next travelers. I didn't knock the review for this because the company does say to bring deficiencies to their attention right away and we did not. Perhaps they would have fixed it at our request.

Something growing on the ceiling

The couch was dirty and smelled, most of the lights in the bathroom were burned out, the screen door was broken, and there was something growing on the living room ceiling! When I called maintenance they did come out and put some lightbulbs in the bathroom, removed the broken piece on the screen door, but they did not touch what was growing on the ceiling. We came home early!!! They did not offer our money back!!!

Cute little house!

We enjoyed our stay very much. I loved how quiet and private the area is to stay in. Having a little house to ourselves was very nice. It's a good drive out to The Rookery but for something private it was worth it. I will say the house needs a few updates---the fridge made some horrible racket and the carpets in the bedrooms could use an update. There were some "stained" spots on them. They had some extra beach chairs and toys on the front deck available and that was very helpful---we forgot a few chairs and needed to use 2. Overall a nice little place to stay! I would definitely want to rent again in The Rookery!

Solid unit short walk from the beach

The property is clean and comfortable though it is showing its age in places. This unit is a short ten minute walk from the beach and adjacent to one of the complex pools. The satellite internet is ok for light use, but has an easily reachable data cap beyond which the performance is significantly throttled.

This property was better than I anticipated. The best rental I’ve stayed out in Alabama. I was concerned due to Covid. This property was secluded and the perfect spot. The neighbors in this little gem of an area. Where very welcoming. Loved it so much. I’m already planning my next trip.
