It was a beautiful location, when we had questions, we were able to contact Rick directly and get answers right away. It was a relaxing apartment, clean and comfortable. We spent most of our time on the deck watching the ocean where my wife knitted and listened to audio books. Both of us enjoyed our stay very much.

View of the ocean was beautiful! Beach uncrowded due to location of condo next to undeveloped State Park, but still near shops and restaurants. Spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the awesome view. Would stay here again!

The unit was very nice and just as described online. Each area was excellent and so comfortable. The outdoor pool was very nice, too. Steps away from the ocean and near to many good restaurants, shopping, etc. We'll definitely return.

The space was just what we were looking for! The decor was spot on. The beach is second to none and we had a great time on the sand. Beach access is quick and easy and the pool is shaded in the afternoon for a nice break from the sun. 10/10 we will be back.

Had to leave early - not a smoke-free building and mold

I was not going to leave a review, but the host has rated me as a guest, and I can’t see the rating until I review.First, the positives…lovely decor, gorgeous beach, great location. Rick was responsive and didn’t dismiss my concerns. Not sure how he actually felt since he reviewed me. But we felt bamboozled because the listing says, “Royal Palms is a smoke-free building” and…it is absolutely not, even by the admission of Rick. We couldn’t sit out on our balcony (one of the main reasons we rented!) due to the horrendous thick cigarette smoke. The way the balcony is tucked in provides zero fresh breeze. We would sit outside for a 2 minutes and then the smoke started again. Rick suggested we knock on the neighbors door and ask them to stop - but he did contact security which was appreciated but not sure how that would fix it since the building allows smoking.Additionally, if you have any health sensitivities to mold, this condo will stir those up. 3/4 of us had a headache every time we stepped into the condo and felt much better when leaving. Rick suggested we pull out his sanitizing box, but it warned to only run “unoccupied” due to the danger of creating ozone, so we did not feel comfortable doing that. We have stayed at many oceanfront condos without dealing with such mold issues.Many other little things (bedspreads dirty, shower curtains molded) & Rick was awesome to rectify those…he brought new ones next day. However mold & cigarette smoke are dealbreakers for us.

Great location to the state park on the quieter end, but the condo was not very clean. Lots of dust and some of the dishes were not cleaned all that well , seemed like it needed a deep cleaning. The lock was not working when we got there, but the owner was very good about helping us get in, and fixed it the next day. Overall a decent place to stay, but not one of the best we have stayed at.

Beautiful Beach Vacation

We spent a week in this condo. We had a wonderful and very relaxing vacation. This unit is beautiful as is the view. Rick thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. We plan on going back and staying in this unit again.

Another Good Gulf Shores Getaway

Royal Palms is aging, but this unit has had updates and was generally fine. Location cannot be beaten for the price — the uncrowded end of the beach next to the Pier, which has now been rebuilt after the hurricane damage. Gulf-front balconies in all units. Elevator is reliable and fast enough, there are enough carts available for luggage, Recommend as a good choice for families. We couldn't get the keypad to unlock on arrival, but Rick personally showed up to handle it in record time, and it was not a big deal.

Great place!

We enjoyed our stay! Owner was very responsive for all needs. We had our code in advance to arrival, which eased my nerves of the possibility of not receiving one. Indoor hot tub is nice as well as pool. We loved the condo's patio furniture. It's nicely decorated and stocked with all items needed.

Wonderful Stay in Gulf Shores!!

The location of this condo is awesome, the beach was very easily accessible and was a little bit removed from spring breakers, as we went during peak season. The condo was clean and comfortable, and the owner was very accessible and Responsive. There was an issue with the garbage disposal that was fixed immediately that day! Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Great condo/Great view/Close to everything

We had a wonderful stay! The bed was so comfortable and had great pillows. They even put hand soap at all the sinks. Rick and Danette have provided everything you need in the kitchen--even 2 different coffee makers. And how nice to have dishwasher and laundry detergent provided. They have recently added beautiful patio furniture--we really enjoyed our morning coffee and early evenings on the balcony. Royal Palms is on a quiet end of the beach so you don't have to deal with large crowds. We hope to go back!
