Important feature not working

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was beautiful and was going to fit EVERY one of our needs, however, we rented it with an elevator because we had 2 parents in their mid 80s, 2 in their 70s, and someone on medical disability. While we understand things happen, we found out the elevator was broken 2 weeks before we arrived. We had no time to possibly make other plans. A monetary compensation should have AT LEAST been offered?? Also, the guest book said a Swiffer and supplies for it would be provided along with some Clorox wipes. None of which was provided? Again, a beautiful house that was everything we could ever dream of, initially. But the elevator was a BIG deal!

The property was perfect for our group in every aspect except the heated pool. It was great the first couple of days. After that, it never heated enough for us to get in it.

"Imagine" yourself on the beach

Other than a little dust in some rooms, dirty stove, what looked to be mold on the ceiling and the televisoin not working in the queen bedroom upstairs, we had a great time. We would recommend to others and we would go again. Really a very nice property!

Good property- does need some maintenance

Air was broken first day/night Dishwasher was broken the entire time. Dishes piled up quick with 11 people. For the amount of money paid we expected not to have to hand wash dishes.

Our wedding

We got married on Gulf Shores and stayed here with several family members. This house was absolutely beautiful and a great place to stay. Beds were so comfortable. Thank you very much we had a great wedding and a great place to stay.

Great location on beach but house needs attention.

First of all I want you to know the home itself is great for families and group vacations. Beach front, quiet neighborhood. The issues were the house was dirty. We had small children and had to clean the floors and the kitchen day one. We found old moldy food in the cabinets. Also only one TV had cable access and the test of the TVs didnt work and repair man could not fix. This was an issue for us as we did have small children and had to go and buy items to entertain them at night. HVAC didnt work on one level the first day and main living area was hot until late that night. Kitchen faucet also broke and sprayed water every where. For the premium we paid I did expect more. I understand things happen but someone should be quality walking homes before renters go in. Once again...house is great, maintenance responded quickly..just should have had these issues if properly maintained.

Less then 200 steps to the beach.

Love this place. Plan on returning. Gave you a 5 but small issues from cleaning crew should be taken care of. Nothing to do with house, location, price. Just rental company. Made great family memories and plan to return to do more. Thanks for sharing you piece of my favorite place. A. Brown

Wonderful house,

The only problem was that we thought we would be able to have direct access to the beach as was the case with previous properties. Because of dune restoration, there is a fence in front of all the houses preventing direct access to the beach. You must walk out of your way along a boardwalk to get to the beach. This makes far inconvenience and overcrowding of the beach. Therefore, we were very disappointed.

Perfect week at the beach!

We (family of 19) had a wonderful experience at Pelican’s Rest. The house conditions and accommodations were as pictured and worked very well for our family. The kitchen was well-equipped, allowing us to prepare several meals with ease. It would have been an inconvenience to have to carry all of our chairs and beach supplies to the beach every day (you have to walk around the dunes versus directly out in front of the house), but the option to rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the week was worthwhile and made it easy. We had a very fun and relaxing week together and would consider coming back to the Fort Morgan area and Pelican’s Rest in the future. : )

Enjoyed Pelican's Rest

House was great, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking. The only issue was wifi, but it was a area issue due to hurricane that preceded our arrival. This was the second time staying here!

2K17 Family Vacay/18th Anniversary,25yrs/40th Bday!

It was AWEEEEESOME! The home was BEAUTIFUL, SPACIOUS, and a GREAT LOCATION! This home was roomy enough for a family of 23. The home had a lot of extra's for cooking, and playing at the beach.

Great Place to Stay!

Perfect vacation rental! We've stayed at Pelican's Rest before, and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Gulf Shores. The home is lovely and meets our lodging needs. The owner is very accommodating. However, and this is definitely a housekeeping problem, we were disappointed to find the floors dirty, light bulbs burnt out in various bathrooms and 4th floor closet, and the bedspreads soiled. Kitchen counter tops were dirty and sticky, and the dishwasher top rack is broken. Despite those inconveniences, this is a top-notch rental, and we look forward to many more summer vacations in this home.

Beautiful home, perfect for large families and very accommodating

We loved the home, the location and the laid back atmosphere. A great vacation! Except for a problem with the downstairs air conditioner, all would have been perfect. Maintenance responded quickly and the temperature was more comfortable but never really got cooler than 74 the rest of our stay. Fine for some in our group and too warm for others. Loved the space, quietness of the floors, layout and design. You could join in a big get together or feel like you were in your own resort space within the same house.

DIRTY

I was so disappointed in this house. From the moment we arrived it was not good. Trash cans outside all four were full, I would've thought the trash left by whoever would have been taken away and we would have at least had empty cans. Day one called about air conditioning, fridge, and dryer didn't work. They did come out and repair the first two complaints however we went all week with no dryer. The house was so dirty. Once again so disappointed in the house and so embarrassed for my family.

Pelicans and people can rest at Pelicans Rest!!!

This is a very nicely furnished home with many, many kitchen items and dishes. The master suite on the top floor is so quiet, private and luxurious. The other bedrooms and bathrooms were also very nice. It was a wonderful surprise that all four generations of our family enjoyed. There were a few repairs/replacements that the managing company addressed. There was a slight drawback - we had to walk down a board walk and then back over to get to the beach area in front of the house due to a Federal law preventing walking through or in the Dunes. Overall: this is a Winner! I highly recommend this property!

The house was perfect for our family's needs and location to the beach was excellent.

This is a great house for a large family gathering.....amazing views, lots of room, plenty of bathrooms & bedrooms, and an elevator that was very helpful.

No easy beach access

Beautiful house but it is NOT easy beach access! You cannot walk out the back and get to the beach. Not ideal anyone with children.
