Our family of 16 stayed at this unit for a week, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. With 5 rooms and an XL couch, we had plenty of space for all of us & it never felt crowded. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking equipment & the fridge was quite large. It was nice to have tv’s in all the rooms, including the children’s bunk bed area.
Walking to beach could not have been easier. The crosswalk led straight from this unit to a boardwalk beach entry complete with outdoor shower, bathroom, and lifeguard station. Took just a couple of minutes. There is also an outdoor shower at the uni, to rinse everyone thoroughly after a sandy beach trip.
While the pool was pretty nice and well kept, when all of the units are full it gets incredibly packed. So we just watched to find times when it wasn’t as busy to take our kids down. It was super nice to have a pool with our little kids, especially in the evenings.
I would recommend taking your own beach towels and extra bath towels. However, there is basically no where to hang wet towels. No towel hooks anywhere and the listing states you cannot hang anything over the balcony railings to dry. So that was not convenient. Although the washer & dryer units held up well to constant use.
The chairs at the dining room table show some wear & tear with sharp wicker and tacks poking it out in some places. Just cover with towels for use.
Overall, I highly recommend this unit for a family vacation to Gulf Shores.
