The house itself is large and spacious; however, there are lots of stairs. Stairs lead into the property, followed by two more flights. There are no bedrooms on the first floor. The house is basically clean, but some dishes in the cabinets were filthy. The towels are OLD and very thin. One towel I opened had a long human hair in the middle of it. We still had a great time, and I was very impressed with the management. We received a text at least an hour before check-in letting us know the code to get in. They brought extra remotes and were prompt in letting us know of a water outage that might affect the house. The beach is extremely close and has very few people. It is family and dog-friendly.

We loved our stay at The Commodore West! The house was spacious, clean, and perfect for our family. The only thing we wished for was a bedroom on the bottom floor for those who struggle with stairs, but everything else was wonderful.The beach view was stunning—hearing the waves and watching sunsets from the balcony made every day special. Being right on the sand made it easy to relax, take walks, and let the kids play.We also loved how close the property is to Fort Morgan, one of our favorite places to visit in Gulf Shores. The history and views there are incredible, and it’s so convenient being just down the road.The home had everything we needed: a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and a host who made sure everything was ready. The location was close to restaurants, shopping, and attractions, yet still peaceful.This was one of our favorite beach trips, and we’d absolutely recommend The Commodore West to anyone looking for a relaxing Gulf Shores getaway!

What great property!!! We had parents, teens and small ones, age 4-10. We had plenty of room for all. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had all we needed. Nothing bad to say about any part of the home. Views were just like the pics....step out the door onto the beach. Loved it all and would recommend to anyone with a large group.

Excellent vacation

Commodore West checked all of our boxes. We loved being right on the beach and the covered porches were amazing! We enjoyed watching the dolphins cruising the sand bar and saw lots of marine life. The only complaints we had were some places in the house were not the cleanest but it was nothing to ruin our fun. We would definitely stay here again.

great beach vacay!

This was a great house for our crowd! Beds were comfortable, ample bathroom space and the house was clean. Loved the big table where we could eat meals together and play games! Kitchen was well stocked w utensils, cookware, bakeware, cutting boards and even small appliances like blender and hand mixer*. Next time we visit, I would love to see hooks in the bathrooms for enough towels and bathing suits for the number of people possibly using each bathroom. We'll be back :)

The Commodore West

The location was great - right on the beach! Quiet, not alot of people around. Would be nice if there was a wooden walkway built to just beyong the sand dune. Was a little tiresome trek getting to the water! One thing was the AC was having a hard time keeping up. There wasnt adequate blinds/curtains on the windows to help reflect the heat/help keep the house cool. (The main cooling problem was in the Master bedroom...) So you were super hot outside and came into a warmer than normal house! The manager offered to have the repairman come but we determined it was just hot outside and we dealt with it.

Spring break 2023

Thank you!! We really enjoyed our stay! The home was spacious, with plenty of room for everyone to gather or they could spread out if they needed their own space. The kitchen had everything we needed for large family meals. The porch was perfect for unwinding every evening and the short walk to the beach was absolutely incredible!! Can't wait to come back!

Perfect for us!

This getaway was for me and my 2 adult children and their children and we had some friends making it 12 in all, a few ended up not coming.:( The house was well furnished and very roomy! Flights of stairs in this unit but we’ve had this before with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms needed for our large group! Right on the beach and beautiful views from inside the house! I so enjoyed the French doors in the master bedroom opening to the porch with rocking chairs to sit in and watch the ocean and listen to the waves crashing! And it was very private so no crowds on the beach! It was a great place to make lasting memories ❣️

short time at the beach

this property is great and right on the beach, lots of room, porches were nice. The only thing I didn't find there was a blow dryer, I'll remember to pack one next time. Our puppies loved the beach!!

Great Multi-Family Stay

This was a GREAT spot without much traffic on the beach. We had three separate families with plenty of space. Everyone was able to enjoy each other on the main level and still have plenty of room for quiet time when needed. We had all ages and everyone had a great time. A large family with lots of kids showed up next door on the final two nights and we didn’t hear anything through the walls so don’t let the duplex change your mind. I would love to return and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway:)
