We had an annual family reunion in Guerneville over Labor Day. As the family now has grown to 25 members we rent local properties near our original family cottage. The listing was quit accurate, an amazing kitchen, the tree house was a huge hit with the kiddos and we all got our steps in with all the stairs. The beds were comfy and the home was clean and comfortable. Having onsite parking and a large area for playing behind a secure gate was awesome.

Lovely Guerneville Stay

The house worked great for two families with kids. A short stroll to the river and to downtown, a wonderful open kitchen/living/dining area to gather in. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's the 3rd and 4th floor of the house, so you're going to be climbing a lot of stairs. It's fine, but it's worth considering if you have guests in your party with mobility issues. Overall, a great spot!

Small family gathering

We were a group of eight celebrating my daughter’s wedding. We love to cook and the house is well equipped for it. Although the pizza oven outside was not usable. At first the stairs were a bit daunting but we quickly got used to them. Luckily no one had limited mobility. The location is perfect we walked to town and the river. There were other reviews of constant dog barking. We did not experience that. All in all a good choice for our family.

Bachelor Weekend Getaway

We had a good stay and overall the house worked well for our group. However, it was disappointing that the pizza oven was not in use. It felt misleading to advertise the pizza oven not only as part of the property but in the title of the listing, clearly highlighting something that couldn’t be used due to a fire ordinance but also the pizza oven itself was in pretty bad shape even if the ordinance wasn’t in place. Great indoor kitchen and comfortable accommodations. Can’t beat the towering redwoods on the property and easy access to downtown. Solid place for large groups but make sure you don’t mind stairs, since there’s no accessibility accommodations getting up to the 3rd and 4th floors which are the main levels.

Overall a good place!

The location was top-tier and the accomodations were very nice. Only two issues were that the wifi was spotty and the dogs who lived next door barked non-stop all night and morning. We would stay here again.

Perfect location

We had a wonderful time with our medium-size group. You cannot beat the location so easy to walk into town. Just to note, it’s off a lightly trafficked street and across from an RV park but given the house is four stories high you do feel away from it.

Racer 5 River Retreat

We love this property. It is the second time we have stayed at this property and have enjoyed our stay. This property is in a great location within walking distance to just about everything. Just a stone’s throw from restaurants, bars, wine tasting, mini golf, river, Johnson’s beach, kayaking, etc. 30 minutes by car to the gorgeous Sonoma Coast and 20 mins to historic Duncan Mills or The Wildflower Bakery in Freestone. The house has most everything you could need including a gourmet kitchen with and amazingly large island to gather around, several decks, fire pits, tree house, garden, fantastic gas grill, outdoor tables for eating on the deck, huge wraparound sofa, and majestic redwoods right in the completely fenced yard. We LOVE this pet friendly home. We had lots of family fun and so happy to make memories with our loved ones roasting s’mores and having a ping pong tournament and just chasing the dog in the yard. The property is well kept, clean, and spacious. It is an absolute gem.

Fun place to stay

The Racer Five was an excellent lace to stay. Lots of room. Great sights from the windows. “Extras” on the property were great. (Tree house, Hammock, Pizza Oven, Fire Pit and garden. Be aware, there are four flights of stairs to get into the home totaling 50 stairs. There are only two bathrooms for five bedrooms. Although all the extras outside and inside far outweigh these two things.

Life on the river

We enjoyed the nearby river beaches, and the easy walk to town, and the wonderful fire pit with a circle of chairs in the evenings. If you want to tube downriver, your best bet is to rent a real innertube, rather than purchase a cheap one. If you're just playing at the beach, the toy tube from one of the stores in town is fine. Sweet town.

Great space for family get together

The property was was wonderful and supported 10 people comfortably. I could see how this would be a great choice in the summer with all of the outdoor spaces. My only negative is the neighbors have several dogs and I swear they added 2 more during our our stay. That being said I would stay there again.

Neighbors dogs are super, disruptingly loud.

Great house, terrible neighbors... The house and location themselves were great! The home was well equipped for our needs, though the interior staircase was scary slippery sometimes. The garden and grounds were lovely, we really enjoyed the awesome yellow tomatoes! The down side of this house is the next door neighbors and their dogs. The description of this home says that the dogs are “rambunctious”, which was misleading and a misstatement in my opinion, “loud as hell” would fit better. We didnt hear a peep from the dogs until about 3 am on our first night, the dogs(of which there are 3!) barked nonstop until dawn. They barked on and off from then on. Inconsiderete of the neighbors to say the least. Also those poor dogs had little to no living space, just a bare concrete pad with bits of tarp here and there.

Well appointed home with most everything you need.

This was a clean home with most everything you need. Yes, neighbor's dogs bark constantly, but not that big of a deal. The bigger deal was the number of stairs to climb over and over, seems to be a recurring these in Guerneville homes. The yard set up was great, but we didn't eat down there because we didn't want to carry everything needed up and down those stairs. So we mostly cooked in the bbq and pizza oven and then trekked the food back upstairs to the top where the kitchen and living area was. If you like to cook on wood, bring your own as they supplied mostly pine. Very close to town, wineries, and not too far from the coast. Overall this was a nice place, but maybe a dumb waiter at least to move dishes and such back and forth.

Awesome Place but Lacked Kitchen Staples and Bathtub Drainage

This house was very comfortable for 9 ladies celebrating a weekend away. The pros: easy contact with rental company (including understanding the gate lock), awesome garden, great kitchen and appliances, proximity to town, outdoor space and lots of seating. Cons: barking dogs next door, lots of stairs which are def not handicap-able and you must climb up several flights to get in (warning to elderly), lacked very basic kitchen staples (no olive oil, salt, sugar, etc.), and the bathroom tub got gross because it did not drain. Overall, it was clean and comfortable for a great price.
