Rio Nido Canyon 3 Cabin

We came back for the third year in a row to enjoy this cabin. It is always clean, updated appliances and easy access to The Roadhouse, pool, the river and just 2 miles to Guerneville. It is surrounded with magnificent redwoods and is quiet and brings on a sense of calm. We brought an inflatable air mattress for my granddaughter since the kids are getting older and they need their own beds rather then sharing the double bed on the lower bunk of the bunk beds. Plenty of room in the living room for the air mattress. Thanks again for the lovely stay.

Redwood Getaway

We truly enjoyed our time at this location. The door lock is a bit tricky but this could be the result of operator error! We've utilized VRBO many times, and this was not a disappointment! It was perfect for us in so many ways and we look forward to returning soon! Thank you!

Rio Nido Reunion

I met my family out here for a weekend trip, my weekend anyhow, and we had dinner here at the house and played cards against humanity. Rio Nido is such a cute little spot nestled in the redwoods.

Rio nido redwoods!

Horrible access

The street to arrive was one lane. Which was disclosed with the access code and to late to cancel reservations. The instructions indicated we could not park on the street. Yet lots of neighbors did making it more difficult to drive up and down the street. The house two doors down and had for large trucks park on the street as he was remodeling his house. We had no access to our street to get in or out. We drove up the street and could find how to get to the main road. So anger this was not in the listing. Also the large light in the kitchen was out. Cooking with a small light in the kitchen was terrible. The cleaners left one roll of toilet paper for six people for four nights. I won’t use vrbo again. I use vrbo several time and the property didn’t disclose some very important information.

Comfortable, simple home that has all you need. Not a ton of personality on display, but cozy space and all the amenities you might want. Safely enclosed backyard for a dog.

Long Weekend Stay

Very clean and dog friendly! The beds are very comfortable and so is the couch. The tv works well and has Netflix. Great DVD collection and basic necessities in the kitchen provided. Easy to book and check in/out. The neighborhood is really nice for short walks and it isn’t too far from Safeway and the River which is a bonus. The heat controls on the wall were hard to find because they’re behind the TV but work well. We had booked under the impression that there was a hot tub and there isn’t. Also there is no backyard it is just a small side of the house with a four person table and bbq on the walkway. The sliding glass door and several windows have no curtains or blinds and the fences aren’t tall enough to offer privacy which feels like a safety issue. The wall with the sliding glass door and two big long windows with no curtains or blinds has a camera outside of it like we may have been watched inside the home. Very friendly neighborhood except for one neighbor next door who talks very loudly and seemed constantly upset and angry outside at all hours of the night every night keeping us awake and one night I was taking a bath and heard thumps on the window every so often like little rocks were hitting it at the same time that I could hear that same neighbor on their side of the fence right where the bathroom was on our side which freaked us out so much that we were debating either calling the police or just leaving right then because we didn’t feel safe anymore. We very much felt like that neighbor was spying on us and doing small odd things to mess with us our entire stay which was scary since we were two women staying there by ourselves to the point that we stayed indoors and were very uncomfortable. There is also zero cell reception and the WiFi isn’t great so when we tried calling the property manager about it we couldn’t. Other than the strange neighbor though and lack of privacy we had a nice time.

Nice little place, no wifi!

Totally adequate, clean and nice little house--we could not get wifi so there was major stress for the younger set who had to actually communicate in real time with human beings in front of them! If you have to do work this wouldn't be so great!

Comfortable Russian River Retreat

This is a very nice house in Rio Nido, a few miles from Guernville. We had a great time and will have fond memories of eating dinner in the backyard surrounded by beautiful redwoods.

Short get-away

Proper was as described. There appears to be a furnace but there does not appear to be a cooling system in the house. It happened to go above 90 on one of the days we were there, so it was a bit uncomfortable in the evening but it eventually cooled down. Are was quiet for the most part and had easy access to town.

Nice place, but unhelpful property managers, and A/C does not work!!

The house was nice and clean and had many toys for preschool aged children. Nice dvd collection and wii games (which we didn't use). Well-stocked kitchen supplies and nice grill outside. Very small fenced "yard", with enough space for table with four chairs and grill. The bathroom sink drain did not open, and the water drained very slowly. It was 90 degrees the days we were there and the A/C didn't work. There is no breeze when you open the windows since it is in a canyon, so it was 80 degrees in the house. There was one fan available in the house. We called the management company about 5 times. They always answered and said they would call a repair person to come and get back to us. They never got back to us and never fixed the problem. The last time we called they said they would send some more fans over and give us a partial refund on our stay. We never got the fans and we are still waiting for a refund. They also mentioned that the previous guests had complained about the A/C not working, but it was still not fixed.

Beautiful home tucked in the forest

The house was perfect for our family of 4 and doggo. Close to several river access points, town and several points of interest including hiking, boating, swimming, gravel beaches and restaurants. My kids loved the bunk beds and an abundance of toys, movies and books to keep them thoroughly entertained. I don't know if it was excessive humidity or other factors but the washer and shower curtain had some mold.
