    Experience the timeless allure of a classic Swiss free-standing chalet nestled on the sunlit Terrassenweg in Grindelwald. Welcome to Chalet "Luftschloss" or 'Air Castle', where breathtaking mountain vistas and glimpses of the glacier gorge await.

    Spread across three floors, Chalet Luftschloss invites you into its cozy interiors, featuring an open plan living/dining/kitchen area on the middle floor. Revel in the warmth of the fireplace and the comfort of modern amenities, including a fully-equipped kitchen boasting a Nespresso coffee machine and Fondue-set. Sun-kissed balconies offer idyllic settings for al fresco dining and scenic appreciation.

    Ascending to the top floor, discover three inviting bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a king-size bed and daybed, and a bathroom with a bath and separate shower.

    At garden level, the lower floor reveals a spacious bedroom with an en suite bathroom, along with laundry facilities for added convenience.

    Situated just moments away from the ski-school beginner slopes at Bodmi and the 'First' cable car station, Chalet Luftschloss offers unparalleled access to winter sports and hiking adventures.

    Please note, as an old chalet nestled close to nature, it's not uncommon to encounter insects. Embrace the charm of rustic living and immerse yourself in the natural beauty that surrounds you.
    A classic Swiss free-standing chalet, comfortable and tastefully decorated and located on the Terrassenweg, one of the sunniest areas of Grindelwald. It has uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains and the glacier gorge.

    Split between three floors, you enter Chalet Luftschloss on the middle floor. It has an open plan and features a fireplace, dining tabl, flat screen TV and cozy sofas. The kitchen is fully equipped with all amenities including microwave, oven, dishwasher, toaster, Nespresso machine and Fondue-set. This floor also features a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Amazing property and location

Excellent chalet

Cant fault it. Excellent apartment with all what you need for your holiday. Stunning views from the balcony. Check-in and check-out were easy and Diarmuid was very helpful. Will absolutely be my first choice in Grindelwald.

Amazing Views!

This place did not disappoint. The views are identical to the listing. The chalet is cozy and we felt right at home. We took advantage of the fondue sets and made an amazing dinner at home away from the crowded restaurants. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept great. I hope my family can return in the future!

Return to Alpine bliss

The chalet fully met our needs of our grown children and their spouses including our 7 month old granddaughter. We generally used the buses to get up and down to Grindelwald center which came hourly. The walk is invigorating but doable. The views from the balcony, living room and bedrooms were amazing peaking into the heart of the Bernese Alps. Since some of us had been to Grindelwald before it was nice to discover a new “neighborhood” that allowed us easily to explore the area over a week. Good communication throughout the booking and preparation process helped out planning. Very well done from top to bottom.

Paradise in the Alps

One of the most peaceful and restful stays we've had. Everything we could possibly want. Owners were very responsive to every need including bringing two fly swatters. Would stay again in a heart beat!!

Amazing Views! Ideal Location!

Great property - cozy, convenient, roomy, clean, and private. The wood burning fireplace was the peak during our stay, enhancing the sounds and smells of the mountains!

Great time at the Luftschloss

We really enjoyed our stay in Grindelwald. Darmuid and Kashi were great hosts and very responsive. The house is a as listed and we would definitely come back.

Amazing home! Just as advertised. Ideal for a big family or a group of friends. Phenomenal host and great communication. Plan ahead with parking and a smaller refrigerator. Great access to the town and a wonderful stay!

Amazing views!

We had a wonderful experience at this very spacious, well equipped, house with the most amazing views. It was centrally located to all activities and attractions we wanted to see, and we especially appreciated the attention to detail and warm hospitality by our hosts. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

property was as advertised. impressive mountain views and llama farm in the middle of the alps. very centralized for day trips, biking in lauterbrunnen with falls, lake cruise with organic lunch, cooking class in Lucerne, castle tour and paragliding, OH the paragliding.

Spectacular views from chalet. Enjoyed wonderful family time. Great location for hiking, paragliding, and exploring Grindelwald and nearby Lauterbrunnen. Diarmuid was responsive and helpful.

A very nice chalet in a very nice area with a professional property manager

The chalet is very nice and spacious, and is located in a quiet part of Grindelwald. You are away from the busy main street, yet it is just a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk. The views from the chalet are amazing, and the chalet is well equipped with everything a large family needs. This is the second time I deal with the property manager (Diarmuid), and I am happy with how he deals with his tenants. He is professional and he responds quickly to any questions or needs we have. He makes check in and check out a seamless process, and we received our deposit promptly.

Fabulous chalet with great view

The chalet was beautifully decorated throughout, had a fabulous view of the glacier opposite and was really well equipped. The chocolate on the beds on arrival was a nice touch. Thanks for a great stay

Beautiful chalet with amazing views and scenery

Lovely stay for a family of 6 adults and 2 kids. Having 3 baths for each of the couples was definitely good. Washer and dryer in unit was a plus. The scenery from the living room / balcony is breath taking and the walk around the neighborhood is gorgeous. We did see llamas every day from the front of the chalet which was such a nice touch! Only drawback to the chalet is the location since it’s slightly out of the way from the city. It’s about a 20m bus ride from the Grindlewald train station. We were fine with this since it worked for us to be away from the crowds and the peace and serenity of the surrounding natural beauty was worth it, but did add to the commute when sight seeing. The bus also only runs once every hour. Bathroom in the basement is dimly lit so that was ever so slightly inconvenient during showers. Chalet is nicely furnished with kitchen supplies as well but no oil/ butter / coffee / tea, etc. There is a grocery store next to train station for every day groceries. No A/c but fans supplied in every room; no issues with the chalet. Diarmuid and his wife were excellent to communicate with and Diarmuid provided a lot of helpful suggestions / tips for our 3 day stay in Grindelwald. Thank you!

Outstanding Vacation House!

Our recent stay at Luftschloss in Grindelwald was wonderful! The location is great and the house very comfortable and well supplied. Our party of 4 adults and 3 children had plenty of room and and having 3 bathrooms was great! Our host could not have been more helpful and. when I had questions he relied promptly. I have NO reservations about highly recommending this property if you are planning a trip to this area .

Beautiful Grindelwald

We are a family of four who stayed in Grindelwald for 6 nights. We had a wonderful stay in this charming chalet. The chalet was well stocked, quiet and comfortable. The view from the main floor and deck is spectacular! There is a glacier right in front of you. Diarmuid met us upon arrival and gave us an orientation to the area and many wonderful suggestions for things to do. We spent a day going to Jungfrau. It is truly an amazing experience. It is very expensive, but per Diarmuid's recommendation, we purchased a Jungfrau pass which allowed us to ride the trains and cable cars on other days as well. We had a great pizza dinner at Onkel Tom's and another great dinner at C und M. We highly recommend both places. Just a short walk from the chalet is a wonderful place, Cafe 3692, that is open for breakfast and lunch during the week, and dinner on weekends. We did 2 great hikes with beautiful views of the glaciers. We took a day trip to Bern, which was about an hour away and well worth a visit. Another great day trip is visiting Aare Gorge and the Giessbach Hotel and falls. Lunch on the terrace at the hotel is so scenic. The lake it overlooks is a beautiful blue. You can also walk along and behind the waterfall. We will always treasure our memories of this special chalet and hope to return again someday.
