Our first impression was not good. Upon arriving we could not check in due to issues with the entrance to cabin. We were given instructions to take a back route because access to house was not available. We drove through the back way (which also needed work). When we arrived there was parking for one car and a steep climb of many stairs up to the house. We returned to the Butler check-in office. They informed us to wait 30 more minutes to get clearance on the other access road which was recently worked on. After waiting to get in , we finally were able to access the cabin. We unloaded all of our food and luggage. This was not an easy thing to do with all of the stairs we had to climb to access the bedrooms and kitchen. We also had 11 guests and four cars. When figuring out the parking we found that one of the parking bays was filled with contractors equipment. Plus the workers did not take their trash with them, it was left in the garage. (Trash can was full). Another issue was the towel situation. When everyone was showering I realized that there were not enough towels in the bathrooms or linen closet. I had to wash all used towels and hand out rinsed towels to guests that did not have a towel (rinsed because there was no detergent in the laundry room). The next day after 9 am, I was able to call Butler Rentals for clean towels and laundry detergent. In the kitchen the dishwasher did not work properly and the refrigerator does not seal as it should. We had issues closing it. I slept in the master bedroom. The bedding had holes in the blankets and I required a boost from someone to get in bed because it was so high. If this were my property, I would replace the refrigerator and dishwasher. I would add a dumb waiter to lift groceries and luggage from the garage to the kitchen and replace the mattresses and bedding. Also since the property sleeps 17, there should be enough extra linen, towels and detergent supplies in the laundry room. Also on the listing it should state that the cabin is not accessible to people with disabilities. In conclusion we felt that the accommodations did not equal the rental cost. The cabin was not ready for guests. A portion of the rental costs should be reimbursed.
