Gorgeous retreat!

My fiancé and I wanted to do an easy staycation near home and this couldn’t have been better! Communication and checkin was incredibly simple. We enjoyed the private dock and pond access, listening to the loons at night! We can’t wait to come back for another trip!

Awesome cabin!

Relaxing stay! We enjoyed our week at this cabin. We loved using the canoe and the availability of the fire pit. It did get pretty hot inside. The coolest we got it was 74 at night which is still pretty warm for what we are used to in the house but we made it work. We had to contact the property manager for an issue with the lockbox code which was resolved very quickly. Thank you for a nice stay!

Beautiful Cabin and Location

The cabin and property were beautiful!! We leisurely paddled the pond during our 2 days and found it to be a magical place. We enjoyed the open, spacious layout of the very clean cabin interior and private deck which looked out over the woods into the pond. The bed and furniture were very comfortable. Check in was easy, and the owner/manager was quick to answer our questions. We’ll be back to spend time at this wonderful property! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Relaxing Fun Filled Summer Getaway

It was our second time for our family of 5 plus our dog staying at Birch Overlook and we again enjoyed every minute! We especially loved canoeing and kayaking on gorgeous and serene prong pond. Kids loved roasting marshmallows at night and spending days on the pond or nearby Moosehead Lake. No moose sighting but that’s a good excuse to come back next year!

family getaway

The property was fantastic. As stated in many reviews the pictures do not do it justice. It was perfect for our family and revolving guest who came to stay. Very private and quiet, but good distance from Greenville to shop and eat. Loved the Front Porch, we spent much time on it as the weather was not fantastic. The water front was peaceful and pretty, but not a a great place for small children or swimming. This is the only reason for 4 stars. However, we did enjoy canoeing and kayaking the pond. We would consider the stay again as Lily Bay State Park is just up the road. Thank you for a wonderful week! The camp was very clean and very comfortable. We did also enjoy the private fire pit. Overall a perfect vacation!

Beautiful cabin and setting!

The cabin was just what we were hoping for and fit our family of 6 perfectly. The setting was so peaceful, nestled in amongst the trees with views of Prong Pond below. I loved the winding path through the woods to the dock. We all enjoyed using the canoe and kayak every day. And our dog had a great time too!!

Cool Summer Respite

This was our second visit to Birch Overlook on Prong Pond. The property was immaculate and there are new firepits, one for each cabin. The area is lovely, near anything you might need, but remote enough to feel a little wild (for a Jersey family!) Having the kayak and canoe as part of the rental makes it a great value and adds to the adventure, my kids loved kayaking out to a set of rocks that had enough deep water surrounding them for a satisfying leap and splash. The music of the loons and chattering of the red squirrels enhanced the North Woods vibe. Within the cabin, the loft area is awesome for kids old enough to know better than to pitch themselves over the side railing. This was another great stay!

Tranquil

Cozy, clean cabin. The feeling of seclusion. Loons calling out during morning coffee on the dock. A peaceful canoe/kayak trip around the pond rarely seeing another person. Moose, deer, eagles..... If you’re looking for crowded, busy, noisy and hate wildlife, then this place is NOT for you.

A hidden gem

We were up to do some fly fishing and just needed a place to sleep. But this cabin far exceeded our expectations. Extremely clean, well stocked and in a great location. The pictures in the listing don't do it justice.

Nice little Greenville getaway

We enjoyed our cabin stay on Prong Pond. It was very remote and quiet, a good place to unplug from the world for a couple days. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed, though it could use some new frying pans in the kitchen. The deck was really nice to hear the mom and baby loon on the pond. We enjoyed using the grill, the fire pit, and the canoes. We were the only ones out on the pond, where we got to see the loons and the spectacular autumn scenery. Mike, the caretaker was very helpful and friendly. If you have Verizon mobile service, you'll have no problem keeping in touch with the world.

Weekend Getaway

Was just what we needed for a weekend retreat with friends. The area was absolutely beautiful and the cabin was so cozy and more than accommodating. Will definitely stay again when we make another trip to the area.

Birch Overlook

Excellent cabin in every way. Private dock and canoe was perfect! Town was fun to explore, ATV tour and pontoon boat time on a Moosehead all added to outlet stay! Porch and enjoying this place with our dogs was special! Thanks
