We loved the location right across the street from Grand Haven State Park. The beach there is amazing. The beds were very creaky/noisy and not very comfortable. Every time you moved it was really loud.Overall we had a great stay! It was really clean, everything worked, the air conditioning was awesome. We cook a lot and the kitchen had everything we needed.That being said....there were not a lot of "extras" that we have found with other VRBO's. we had to bring a lot of stuff. I.e. Saran wrap, paper plates, napkins, coffee filters, sand toys, and beach chairs. They owner did communicate this to us, so that was good. Communication was excellent. It was just a bummer that we had to bring so many things.You should also note, there weren't any family games provided. We love playing games on vacation and typically there are games to play in the VRBO's we've rented in the past. We ended up buying games at MACKite a great game store downtown Grand Haven. If you have kids, you'll definitely want to stop there!

Great Access to Lake Michigan. Rental was ok.

The house was right across from the state park. The house was clean. The kitchen was decently stocked with kitchen utensils, etc. The bed in what I will call the master bedroom seemed to fold into the middle when there was two people in it. It was also very noisy when you would move in the middle of the night. There were two beds in the 2nd bedroom that were almost like sleeping on a piece of plywood. I was also disappointed that I had to take out the garbage on Wednesday night. For what I paid to stay here, I should’ve have to do chores that I do at home. The cleaning crew should have done this. Check in process was simple. At times it felt like communications from property management company was too much. I think I got an email or text almost every day I was there. That wasn’t needed. Just let me enjoy my trip.

Great view!

The cottage was in an exceptional location. It was just as described. The front porch is all you need to relax. It was extremely hot during our stay, but the Happe House Apt B was nice and cool. If you rent Apt B, know you will hear the people above you walking around. If you are a light sleeper or that type of noise bothers you, rent the Apt A. The fire alarm woke us up two mornings, going off for no apparent reason. This was not the fault of the owners and I am sure the rental Company will take care of it. Parking is clearly marked. If you are tall (6’3” or taller) you will have to duck in several spots as the ceiling work is low. Overall it was an amazing place to stay and we enjoyed sharing this clean, comfortable, and beautiful place.

Great View

Private deck was the highlight. Proximity to the beach and view can’t be beat. Bathroom is a little tight and the ceilings are a little low in unit B but still a solid value all things considered. Would definitely stay again.

Great spot for the weekend

My family had a great time staying at this cabin. The location cannot be beat. It’s right by a beautiful beach and my wife loves places with a great view and this one has a great view, we were lucky to view a couple of sunsets off the deck. The beds were a little on the smaller side which can be hard for taller people like me, but it was good enough. Overall, it was great and my family had a great time.

Great Family Beach Vacation

My wife and 4 kids thoroughly enjoyed the place. It is so nice to be near the beach. You can actually watch your kids walk all the way to the water. The breeze keeps the bugs away. We are going to come back.

Overlooking the beach

This cottage is beautifully situated across from the Grand Haven State Park beach. The unit is spacious and has a beautiful deck. We enjoyed the ample seating inside and outside. House is only about a 20 minute walk to downton. Renters should be prepared to hear plenty of noise from the people in the apartment above. Also, kitchen is stocked with some basics for dining, but could really use a knife block with a small selection of knives. Lots of dull paring knives, but nothing to cut bread or meat.

Great place

Perfect location just across the street from the beach and a short drive to necessities. Loved the view from the back deck. The home is bright and clean and suited the three of us perfectly. The only small drawback was being able to hear the renters above walking around at times. But we would definitely stay there again.

Great but could use some updates

Over all the accommodations were very nice. It was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the location fabulous and the check in/check out was clear and seamless. I was a little sad to see the table and chairs in the dining room were on the verge of falling apart, we were afraid to use them. The couch had sections with deep drop offs to the bottom. I would suggest replacing these items. It would make this a perfect VRBO rental. Thank you.

Felt at Home at the Beach

Fantastic view! Across the the street from the beach! I felt like the beach was my home for a couple of days! The deck and living area has a fantastic view or the “Big Lake”! The roar of the water and sounds of the lake also made this trip memorable. The rooms and bathroom were kinda small, but we were too busy enjoying being out and about. Clean accommodations, easy check in, closeness to the beach equals a very nice getaway!

Cute Basement Apartment

The space was nice, and very snug. The listing says it sleeps six or so, which is true, however if it were a rainy day and you were stuck inside, it would feel crowded to me. Also there were no personal bits throughout the apartment, no board games, books, or movies. Most places we have stayed have had a guest logbook where families can share their experiences and read past accounts. The tap water was also not good, bring a jug of water to make coffee or tea or food. The view was amazing, we got to sit right on the patio with blankets (late October) to watch the sunset, and the neighborhood was really nice to walk through. The location is good, close to downtown area, but far enough to escape any crowds.

Fantastic experience!

The property was absolutely gorgeous with stunning views of the lake and sunset. We spent 4 nights and enjoyed each and every moment of our stay. The host was very communicative and had everything prepared for our arrival. Would recommend for anyone looking to stop by Grand Haven!

Great view and location. Recommend installing a garbage disposal. Also, reverse the door on the refrigerator! The only negative was noise from the upstairs apartment. Also, an awning would be great to block the intense Western Sun.

Not worth what we paid

The view was good and it is close to downtown. After what I paid per night and fees- no way. Both air handlers and water heaters are in the middle of the living space. The ac or heater would go on and off all night with a very loud fan. The Venetian blinds in the bedroom were broken. I had to put a towel over it to keep people from looking in. I moved a bed to plug in a cord and there was hair and lint every where under the bed.

Best views/location

We loved the large deck that overlooks the lake. We had every meal outside and spent hours there. It was great being so close to the water, and only a short walk into town. The rental had all the basics, the only reasons we gave four stars are the shower is incredibly tight, and the beds weren't comfortable.
