Grove Lodge was the perfect choice for our family of 8 adults celebrating my father's 100th birthday. The ground floor ensuite bedroom was perfect for him. The house was clean and very well equipped. As we had goodcweather we were able to enjoy the lovely private garden. We were met by Lee who was very friendly and gave us lots of useful advice about the area.

Family get together

8 adults aged from 25 to 63! Chance for annual family get together. Lovely comfy house, plenty of room for us all to be together or sit quietly. Lovely garden with lots of squirrels to watch scurrying around & a nice park opposite too! Lovely stroll to the ferry and short crossing over to Gunwharf for a bit of retail therapy, lunch and boat watching! Nice dining table for evening of board games! Really comfy beds and good showers & baths! Easy to get a take away delivered and clear instructions from owner where nearest services are should they be needed. Everyone agreed it was a great weekend in an ideal spot!

Disappointed

Photos on Vrbo make the rooms look bigger than they are, Freezer was frozen and could not be used, the King size beds are singles pushed together, Garden furniture needs updating, garden chairs had green algae on them,Rubbish bins were 3 quarters full when we arrived. The fridge is not big enough for the amount of people staying in the property, The bbq needs updating had to swap the control knobs round to turn it on, we have stayed in better properties for me I think the property is overpriced. We made the most of our family weekend but unfortunately would not return

Amazing stay

The house was just perfect and had everything we needed and more the garden was amazing we spent a lot of time outside as the weather was glorious, the location was spot on with a lovely park just over the road , thank you so much for having us we will be back ,

Well placed and well laid out

This was ideal for us, a group of recycled teenagers. Well placed for the ferry and the local buses. The house was ideal with a downstairs en suite for those who have a difficulty with stairs.

Great house and location to say visit peppa world but could be cleaner.

Even though a lovely size house we were 7 adults, 4 children & 3 dogs, the house could be cleaner i.e carpets needed a good clean downstairs and upstairs. Also would have been nice to have been left a bucket and fresh mop as what was given didn't do the job and after having baths/showers our feet were bogging. I know some might say cleaning when your on holiday but we treated this like our own home so cleaned up after ourselves. More so as we have 2 one yr olds who love to pick things up from the floor. The 5yr old and 2yr old couldn't use the trampoline as full of bird poo (as positioned under a huge tree). Did clean it but next day exactly the same so again didn't want to risk the children being ill. Maybe owner is not aware of all above as through letting agency.

Fantastic place and very central

What a gorgeous house and garden, had everything we needed. Easy communication with house owner, lovely location. Walking distance of town and ferry to Portsmouth. Shops local and right opposite the park. Parking for 4 cars at least. All in all what a wonderful stay

Excellent property for groups

We had a great time at this property - the space was great, even better than the photos, and the addition of the trampoline and children’s toys in the back garden kept our little ones entertained for hours. The house was clean and well equipped for a big group, and the rooms were spacious enough to add blow up beds / travel cots where needed. We also hired a hot tub for the property while we were there which was very easy to organise with the owner. The location is also great - a 20 min walk with the children to the Gosport ferry across to portsmouth… and lots of shops and cafes in easy walking distance.

Amazing property with friendly owners!

I booked this property to celebrate my birthday with friends, we all had an amazing time! There was plenty of room for everyone, even around the dining table. The property was very clean and had great appliances, the only thing that was missing is a dishwasher. The location was perfect for our group, it's close to loads of shops and the ferry to Portsmouth is in walking distance. The owner of the property was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Overall it was a fantastic holiday at a great location, we will definitely be back in the future!
