Not great communication from owner but there seems to be some personal issues happening which is understandable but made our check in a little rough. The listing says there is an oven and stove top which there is not.Small kitchenette which is fine but cleaning dishes was very difficult as you have to use a bathroom sink.Beautiful views but one of the blinds was broken and we had to struggle with it and tie it to the chair to keep it open. It is a lovely piece of property and a sweet and cozy space to stay. We loved the location and the accessibility to the river. All in all a nice stay, just a few things that need to be worked out.

We loved our stay at the octagon house! We rolled into the property later than anticipated on our arrival day, and the host came out to greet us and show us around the BEAUTIFUL property! Between the house itself, the hills, and the Rogue River, the views were awesome. We really enjoyed using the outdoor hot tub and soaking in all the beauty. The inside of the octagon house was clean, beautiful, and cozy. It had everything we needed for our short time there. The only thing I would note was that the bed was not the most comfortable, but it was doable for our few nights stay. We really enjoyed the town itself as well and definitely plan to return to the area in the future. Thank you to the hosts for sharing this beautiful space for others to enjoy!

Nice property overlooking the river. We had a flock of wild turkeys in the yard when we left. Only odd thing was a camp light for lighting in the bathroom. But it was a nice place overall.

We Enjoyed Our Stay

Our stay was great but it was quick as we had been hiking at Crater Lake NP all day and arrived at 9:20pm. The place was clean and had what we needed. We took advantage of the hot tub to relax—don’t freak out like we did, there’s a scarecrow along the fence.My only suggestion for the host is to send check-in instructions prior to check-in. It’s helpful to know what to expect, especially after a day of exploring and hiking. I hadn’t heard from the host and it was way past check-in time, so I reached out hoping to get check-in instructions. Took them a few hours to reply, but still no instructions. We arrived and found that there was a gate. I hadn’t received the code to get in so I was forced to call the host. Thankfully, they answered. We felt bad because we arrived so late in the evening, but the host didn’t seem bothered. They showed us over to our yurt and told us a little bit about it. Host was nice.

The octagon

Overall a beautiful place, very cozy! Property is stunning! Octagon is very clean, nice space, cozy bed! The hot tub was awesome and wonderfully warm, nice to relax! Loved looking down at the river, it’s beautiful! Hot water heater failed so showers got a bit brisk! Owner worked to try and fix this, but no luck on the weekend! We may come back for a summer visit, to take advantage of the pool, the river, some campfires and sunshine

This property was very serene and beautiful. Very well kept property and check in and out were seamless. Even with the owners, a full-time tenant and guests in the other rental on the property we had complete privacy. The bed could stand for an upgrade and maybe more comfortable seating. The addition of an electric burner would complete the ability to prepare meals which would be nice. Overall a great place.

Hot tub under the stars was amazing, deer could be seen by the river. It’s a beautiful property and Jerry was a very nice man. We showed up later than we planned and he met us with a flashlight and showed us around. Thanks for letting us enjoy your place Jerry!

The pictures represented the property very well. It was a great view of the river lots of trees. The pool was great Internet was good and we slept well. Could use a little bigger refrigerator, but the room is a little tight.

Great stay at the Rouge!

Overall, we had a great time staying at this beautiful property. The river was wonderful and the swimming pool was perfection on the 107 degree days. The only thing that caught us a bit off guard was the resident on property had a dog. It would have been great to know there would/could be a dog roaming the yard before booking. We didn’t know this information until right before our trip, so we wouldn’t have been able to cancel without losing money. We hardly saw the friendly pup, but as a dog owner it’s always great to know that kind of information. The expectation was dogs have to be friendly with all dogs and humans, but our dogs are a little anxious at times. Like previously stated, it was a great time and the surrounding area was fun to explore. Just wanted to give a heads up to dog owners!

A gem in the Rogue River Valley

Although we don't usually rent a studio, we made an exception for this property. The octagon had views of the river from every window. Beautiful setting on 5 acres of green grass and trees and water. Our dog was able to run around freely. All 3 of us had a great vacation. Our only negative comment is we should have stayed longer. Hopefully, we'll be back again soon. Carol, Ray & KD

ALWAYS A PARADISE

We had a great time last year (2022) in the Octagon which has an amazing view. This place is so peaceful that you are feeling in paradise. We decided to go back this year (2023) and the experience was as wonderful as our last time. We admired all the nature around us watching eagles flying over the mountain, geese and ducks raising their babies, colorful birds nurturing their young ones by the Rogue River. It has a refreshing swimming pool for use after a long hot day of shopping. it is just a paradise to enjoy and relax your vacation time.
