Pros: fantastic views (especially in fall), quiet, private and secluded, house is furnished beautifully and stocked well (trash bags, dishwasher soap, "extras" such as tooth brushes, hair ties, etc.), nice welcome basket, comfy bed, board games/puzzles, larger than average rental bath towels, beach towels, washer/dryer and detergent, towel warmer in the bathroom. Cons: ceiling height in the full bath on the second floor is very short and slanted (we're both 6' and struggled to move about the bathroom), and the lighting is quite dark which made it challenging to shower in the evening. There is an open cutout/window (with blinds) from the queen room to the stairway which could make privacy hard (didn't impact us but something we felt should be shared). The cottage also could use some deep cleaning. We noticed dust and cobwebs during our stay (we understand it is in the woods and expect a certain level of dust/webs, but we expect things like side tables by the couch to be clean). Lastly, the hotub seemed to have a mind of its own and would not maintain the proper temperature for 3/4 nights we were there. To their credit, the hosts did come change the setting/temp on the morning of our 3rd day, but the tub was still not usable until the evening of our 4th day as it was too hot (it read 107 at one point). All in all, we had a great time and would still recommend and even give 5 stars for all the positives, but felt the challenges we experienced should be mentioned too.
