Great view and overall a nice home. Being so far from restaurants we chose to cook several meals each day; however the home did not have usable pots or pans and therefore had to rely on the grill for all cooking needs.

The cabin was in excellent shape and the kitchen well stocked. The bedrooms were the perfect layout for our family of 3 couples, 2 single adults and 6 grands. The only issue, which is an important one, is that the cage around the trash was NOT SECURED IN THE GROUND in the parking area. Two of our vehicles received long scratches and dents from a bear throwing the cage around in the designated parking area. The only response was that the cage was moved. There was no further discussion or follow up by the host.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with a week in the Great Smoky Mountains with all our children and grandchildren. Our Chalet Village North home comfortably accommodated all 13 of us. We especially enjoyed the spectacular views from the upper deck, the fire pit, and the hot tub. A well-equipped kitchen and large dining table and a bar top allowed us to cook and eat some of our meals together at home. The house is conveniently located near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the local Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge attractions. Some in our family also enjoyed the game room and the nearby Village North Clubhouse pool.

Amazing views and plenty of places to sit outside. We had four families ranging in ages from 5 to 82, and everyone had a great time. The enormous decks made the house feel larger than it was and the AC was strong enough that we did not feel the scorching 95 degree heat at all inside. The kids loved the large bunk room and arcade room, while the adults appreciated the comfortable beds and ample bathrooms. There were several empty propane tanks left behind by prior guests, so getting one recharged was easy - 2 mile drive to ACE Hardware store, and 25 for a refill. Separate gas grill and Blackstone flattop made it easy to feed a large group. But two things: (1) the road is steep and windy, so beware in winter months and (2) the bears aren't shy...I was cavalier about it and left the windows down when we pulled in and two bears stole a few bags from my Jeep when i was doing the initial walk-thru of the house, and they opened the door to another car that was left unlocked. But an amazing trip and house rental overall. Everyone wanted to return for another week in the future.

Great Home for Family

Perfect home for our 10 member family vacation. Video arcade games were a blast for kids and adults. Great decks with excellent views. Plenty of living areas. Highly recommend this home!!

This place is gorgeous. Plenty of space for all 17 of us. We had trouble with the ice maker in the refrigerator and Rhonda answered us and helped us right away. Super nice person! We had the best vacation ever!

Wonderful experience

We had a wonderful experience staying at morning star! Our whole family of 20 people had plenty of beds and bathrooms. The cabin had everything we needed and then some. Our children loved playing in the game room. The Mountain views were breathtaking. Much better views than Anakeesta. Watching the sun rise and set over the mountains was unforgettable. The cabin was a very short drive from the downtown area. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I would receive a response minutes after sending a message. Thank you for the memories! We hope to be back someday soon.

Great family getaway

We loved this cabin. It had the best game room of any cabin we have ever rented, and our son loved it very much. The host was very responsive and helpful. The road in is pretty steep and windy and some of our party didn’t love that, but the view was great and we would stay again.

Family Christmas Weekend

We met at the cabin with four generations of family for an early Christmas. The cabin was so pretty and the view is fabulous. The kids loved the game room and the bunk room. There are tv’s everywhere and plenty of places to curl up to rest or visit. The decks are very nice. Hot tub was clean and warm. (We ran to the store for extra paper towel, dishwasher tabs and toilet paper.) Be sure to keep food out of your cars. We had bear prints on our car two hours after we unloaded our groceries. Maybe they smelled the food that had been in there. We didn’t allow the little kids outside without adults, but it was too cold anyway. The mountain drive up is windy, but easy if you take your time. Lots of amazing cabins to see driving up, But this one is at the top! It was clean and everything was working fine. The blackstone was rusty, but we oiled it good and cooked fine on it. We purchased two propane tanks for the fire pit and grills and left them there. I’d say it’s the honor system on that. The fire pit was relaxing and so nice. I recommend this cabin. We had 7 adults, 5 kids and 1 teen comfy as can be.

Please come prepared to this property

If you are visiting, bring your own coffee and coffee filters. Also bring toilet paper and garbage bags as well as dishwasher soap and paper towels. Bears actually got into our cars while we were still unpacking. Don’t forget to lock your cars! Three bears opened car doors and unzipped suitcases. unfortunately, the host was not available as advertised to give us an access code at 3:45. We we arrived at 4, we called repeatedly and tried to get help from Vrbo, but the help only sent us back to the host phone. Which went straight to voicemail. I was convinced that we had been scammed and was trying to figure out how to get other accommodations for 24 people. The host said the booking software had somehow failed and she didn’t answer because her phone was charging. There were also not enough sheets and towels for the number of guests we had. The views were fantastic, but the host did not make it relaxing.
