Our stay in this authentic log cabin was a wonderful enhancement to day trips through the park. Elk and mule deer grazing daily;spectaular views of snow capped mountains;property acerage,out buildings, hiking paths, creeks and pond; and historic home with mondern amenities made us feel right at home in the magnificent outdoors

Yellowstone Mountain Cabin - family vacation
The cabin was amazing. Its appearance is rugged on the outside, but very clean, warm, and welcoming on the inside! As far as cabins go, it’s large - almost spacious - and tastefully decorated with antiques, photos, and other memorabilia. We loved the decor and enjoyed spending the evenings inside when it was cold at night (30s). Not sure if we get back to the area anytime soon, but would stay here again, if we can!

Perfect complement to Yellowstone
This cozy cabin was a perfect addition to our yellowstone trip. We enjoyed the history lesson in which it provided. The hidden as well as the displayed nuggets of history and antiques fill this home. You can tell it was a labor of love that restored this cabin. We saw elk and deer every day in the yard. Wild birds everywhere. Watched the sun set over the mountain views every day sitting on the porch. Every need was met, we were a little early in the season and Gardiner was not fully open so we cooked breakfast and dinners at the cabin and the kitchen is fully loadednwith everything you could possibly need to prepare meals. The gardiner market is a quick drive down the road for groceries. Beds were a little hard for my wife but for the rest of us had no issues. Plenty of notes and instructiins throughout the house, we never had to reach out to the owners however a direct phone number was given. The cabin was clean. I would definatly stay here again.

Hunting party
Beautiful rustic feel of the house, the owner was there waiting for us to show us the house and tell us the background of the house. The wood stove is very unique and it warmed up the house nicely even the upstairs. It turns out the house surpassed other houses we stayed in Gardiner, we have been going back every year for the past 11 years My party enjoyed staying in this house and we look forward to coming back next year

Superb Stay
From the moment my family learned about the cabin to the time we finally had to leave the cabin, we enjoyed the property. My 1.5 year old was greatly disappointed the second morning of our stay when the elk had moved away, but learned the word elk because of the impression it made. The cabin itself is a testament to craftsmanship given the original status when the work began now long ago and the result is a really fun cabin that had something for everyone. We all agreed to stay again if we could and was our favorite stay of all the places on our trip. Thank you for the opportunity! God bless you both.

Amazing Week in Gardiner
We loved our stay in Gardiner. The cabin was perfect for our family of 8. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were nice, everything was very clean. The herd of elk that greeted us on the first night there was a nice touch! We needed to reach out to the host for a couple of small things and he was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding
This is the best short term rental I’ve stayed in by far. The setting is idyllic. The cabin is an excellent restoration that takes you back 100 years, without sacrificing comfort or convenience. We had elk visiting in the morning and enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. Plenty of board games and an unusually good library of books and reading materials about the region. The hosts thought of every detail and the kitchen was well stocked. There are 4 bedrooms with doors, but one is a left over the kitchen. Two additional beds are in the hallway on the second floor.

Perfect Spot!
Our family met here for a vacation to Yellowstone. It is a lovely home, clearly loved and well stocked for a visit. We enjoyed the easy access to the park, but loved the time just enjoying incredible night skies- the milky way, meteors and daily visits from a beautiful herd of Elk. Each day the view across the river to the mountains was amazing. Our hosts were extremely helpful and responsive. We were sad to leave but have wonderful memories of the start to our long planned vacation!

Yellowstone trip
This was a beautifully done timber home. We enjoyed everything about the home and the herd of elk who visited the yard every morning and evening. The bedroom set up was perfect for us, our children and grandchildren. It was only 5 miles to Yellowstones north gate. We also enjoyed using the grill and the backyard fire ring. Altogether an enjoyable experience.

Perfect!
The cabin was awesome. Felt like home and we got the best sleep. Just minutes from the North entrance to Yellowstone and not as touristy as the more popular entrances. The town is cute. We had a herd of elk in the yard every morning and night. There are a few neighbors who are close enough that you don’t feel completely isolated but it’s also very private and quiet, just what we wanted! The cabin is immaculately restored. One note in case you have light sleepers, the upstairs floors creek loudly. Didn’t bother us one bit. The beds were comfortable, everything worked. Everything was exactly as advertised. We didn’t have any issues but the owners seemed very available if we did. They even checked in on us the day after we arrived to make sure all was well. It was a pleasure and I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great Log Cabin Experience
The location was great, just 15 min drive to the North entrance. You drive through Gardiner, a very cute town with some shopping and dining to get to the gate. We ate there after our days in the Park. The house is a proper log cabin and quite rustic but has the amenities you need - nice shower, bath, kitchen stuff, etc. We we’re traveling with kids ages 2-8 and it was a little tricky with the littles to keep them off the staircase which is slippery and steep. If you have kids that are at least 4 years old though it’s child-proof enough. Last but not least, not a day went by that we didn’t see Elk or Deer in the yard and there are plenty of windows in the house to view them from inside! The kids loved this.

Fabulous, serene getaway
This cabin is every bit as magical as it looks in the photos. Our first evening there, we were greeted with a herd of elk in the front yard. Sunsets on the porch were sublime, and the cool mountain air streaming in through the windows lulled us to sleep every night. The north entrance of YNP was minutes away. The owner was immediately responsive when we had questions. Just stop looking and book this one.

Comfortable and Unique - larger than it looks
We had a great experience on this property and the hosts were very helpful and welcoming. WiFi was strong, kitchen well provisioned (with a huge dining table), plenty of room to hang out inside and outside. We were close enough to Gardiner to stop by for a post-hike beverage and get a few extra supplies, but far enough away for solitude. There was a rare valley-wide power outage and the host dropped by to keep us updated and provide spare lighting until the power was restored a few hours later. Visit this property!

An amazing stay at an amazing place
We came to the cabin in Montana as a place to stay for our trip in Yellowstone national park. It is an amazing establishment and has been run extraordinarily well, and maintained exceptionally. The renovation of the cabin was done flawlessly as to maintain its allure as a rustic cabin, but with enough amenities in it, to make it, modernized an enjoyable for a long stay. The kitchen is exceptional. The bathrooms have been done in a manner that makes them nothing but modern and very usable, they were an exceptional piece of the cabin. The sleeping arrangements or fantastic. The bedrooms were more than comfortable. And the living room area was extremely enjoyable for evenings before we went to bed. The land has many older cabins on it, as well as an amazing pond and lots of wildlife to look at. In general, this was an extraordinary stay, and in the future if possible, we’ll go there again. I recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place that is close to the airport in Montana and close to Yellowstone national park as well as the other activities that are available in the area.

Far Exceeded Our Expectations!
If you are looking for a rustic log cabin with great accommodations, wildlife in the area (most times right out your front door), and beautiful views of the valley and mountains, then look no further! Great Stay!
We had a great time! Our hosts were very responsive, and gave great advice, the house was well stocked. The location could not have been better. Close to the north entrance of Yellowstone, we had elk in the yard almost every day and the view from the house was spectacular. We used the fire pit out back and the wood was well seasoned, got a fire going with one match. The entire family said this was our best vacation ever!

Great place to stay when visiting Yellowstone
This was a great stay. The location is perfect so close to the Yellowstone north entrance and really close to the Yellowstone hot springs and water rafting. The house is on a hill facing Yellowstone and looks amazing with the afternoon sun. The kitchen and the entire house is well equipped. It has a fire pit and a hill in the back to go explore.

Amazing! Historic! Memorable!
About a dozen deer greeted us upon our arrival, meandering and grazing in front of this beautifully and uniquely restored 100+ year old log house. The property is just loaded with the owner's collection of interesting objects. We had a fantastic three-generational stay in this welcoming site. In addition, it is only monents outside Yellowstone National Park's entrance.

Magical stay minutes outside of Yellowstone
The family and I stayed in in this wonderful and truly unique cabin in December to experience Yellowstone in the winter. The location is perfect. Beautiful setting with abundant wildlife, 5 minutes from Gardiner and the North entrance to Yellowstone park. Even though we caught exceptionally cold weather, the cabin was always cold and cozy, with comfortable sleeping and activities for everyone. The stay exceeded all of our expectations. Highly recommended.

What a cabin! What a view! What a vacation!
The historic cabin has been meticulously renovated and is so comfortable from the well appointed kitchen to the lovely claw foot tub upstairs. And so well curated. For instance, the old mining car repurposed as a TV table is almost genius. Firstly, old mining cars are just cool but secondly it also references the mining that once took place on the mountains above. Large and small touches like this are found throughout the cabin. Just fantastic. Just as wonderful are the views across to Electric Peak and Devil's Slide. Often though all the elk in the yard will obscure your views of the moutains. Gardiner has been dealt a rough blow this summer but our time in the area was nothing but wonderful. Rafting on the Yellowstone. Horseback riding high in the Absarokas. Hiking in Tom Miner Basin and Paradise Valley. T Rex and friends up at Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman. Enjoying 'cue at Follow Yer Nose. Walking into Yellowstone as far as the washout and sharing the park with no one but a herd of elk. Driving along the Old Yellowstone Trail at dusk and just sitting and watching the pronghorn fawns at play.

We kept our reservation even though the Yellowstone entrance was closed. Gardiner had some very nice restaurants. It was a relaxing vacation. We loved sitting on the porch watching the elk in the yard every evening.

Perfect stay with my grandkids and my mom. Because of the flood we couldn't get into Yellowstone Park, but we enjoyed staying at the cabin and driving around locally. We played in the yard, roasted marshmallows, hiked around, did puzzles and games, and overall really relaxed.

Unbelievable
I actually made my wife promise that we would return to this cabin. That's no small commitment since we live in Tucson, AZ and never fly to our destinations! Let me start by saying that the place WAY larger than it appears online. The decor and furnishings are perfectly aligned with this historic place. One stand-out was the quality and quantity of the dishes and utensils in the kitchen. Many other places we have stayed have come up short in this area, but not here. As far as the surroundings, I was trying to make a case to increase our number of "down days" in the cabin from one to two or three! Incredible views in every direction. Deer and elk for neighbors every day. Two streams flowing across the property, one of which supported a home for a little beaver. The fire ring is huge and was well stocked with seasoned firewood. Every bed was comfy and there are a lot of those, so we all found our special space for the night. Just so much beauty abounds and this cabin literally takes you back in time while providing all of the modern conveniences. Just "Wow"!

A painless visit back in time. Everyone enjoyed the stay from 18-76.
Too many elk in front yard, kept us up staring and counting an picture taking. Then the mule deer came in to occupy us until dark. Musk rats were building nets near the creek that runs through the property. A new batch of rabbits were hopping around. The outdoor fire pit was very romantic. About 8 miles to north gate of Tellowstone Park.

Fantastic Stay!
We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin just outside of Gardiner. The hosts were fantastic and met us at arrival to go over how to use the fireplace and stove. Alex and Beth also gave us information about the area and local activities. The cabin is very clean and cozy and the owners have provided everything needed for a great stay. The property is great for views and for hiking. Access to Yellowstone National Park and Gardiner is very close by and so is Yellowstone Hot Springs. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great stay near Yellowstone.

Eclectic and Cozy
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rustic and well-equipped cabin. The Sirrs were wonderful contacts and hosts providing us with not only everything a vacationer to a new area could require, but also were extremely gracious when we thought we may need to make changes to our stay (changes that might have effected the cost). We appreciate their understanding and working with us; luckily our plans came through as originally expected! Again, we appreciate their graciousness and understanding—especially as we had to plan so far in advance and situations arise. The location to Yellowstone NP as well as Gardiner; Livingston; and the smaller communities of Emigrant and Pray, was ideal. We wanted for nothing—especially not for views! The cabin was absolutely charming—the antiques and attention to detail surpassed what we expected. We look forward to replicating some of these functional pieces in our own home (ex. the built in shoe scraper on the side porch). The home was furnished comfortably and supplied with every manner of pot, pan, dish, mug, utensil, blanket, quilt, pillow, and towel so that the weary traveler need not remember to bring anything more than their own clothing and groceries! Wild elk greeted us each morning from the front yard and an otter family played cheerfully in the small pond on site. The 46 acres that the property sits on was not as accessible nor as remote as we initially imagined—but we enjoyed our evenings around the backyard campfire just the same and rarely saw any of the neighbors during our stay. We hope to return to this cabin in the future—we know other family members would love the experience just as we did. PS: we were traveling with only one person who was physically unable to make it to the upstairs bedrooms. While the stairs were not difficult for any other members of our party, it may help to know that there is only one true bedroom downstairs (not including the pull out sofas in the main living room) for those who may be traveling with multiple people who are not able to make it up stairs. Step Back In Time
As you sit in a rocking chair on the front porch of this log cabin you can just imagine what it was like living here over a hundred years ago. You look out over the Yellowstone River towards the mountains that boast snow in their crevices. Some mornings we enjoyed elk in the front yard. This home was lovingly restored honoring its first family. Memorabilia found during the restoration was reintroduced into the property by installing in the chinking and logs. Framed pictures and historical articles helped introduce us to the first family. In the midst of all this history the home itself is amazingly comfortable. Fabulous kitchen with a stunning gas stove, dishwasher, etc.. everything you will need for your stay, including surround sound and the most amazing VCR movie library. The log cabin is clean, clean, clean. A shower on the first floor and claw foot tub on the second floor serve all four bedrooms. The cabin is light and airy and the property is charming to walk. After visiting Yellowstone daily and dinners in Gardiner we would walk the driveway down to the Yellowstone River to see the elk. This is a property you will never forget.

30th Anniversary
You can not go wrong with this cabin!! Perfect location, beautiful, beautiful view!! So peaceful and just what we love!! Authentic Montana
The property easily sleeps 8 adults, and the walls make the place a sanctuary for contemplation and for get togethers, as well. The restored 1907 cabin is beautifully sited at the base of a mountain looking out at snow capped mountains giving an aesthetic that is beyond imagination. The owners report the restoration was a 13-year project, and it’s evident in every detail that’s revealed as one lives in the house for a few days. Honestly, the house is better stocked that my home. It’s evident this property is a labor of love for the owners. I salute them for all they’ve done inside and out to make this place a wonderful “ base camp “ for discovering Yellowstone. Great location and beautiful setting!
We loved this unique home. The setting was beautiful, surrounded by fields of elk and bison, mountains, and next to the Yellowstone River. Very close to the park entrance and near a grocery store, gas stations, and a cute small town. The house had lots of interesting details with a great little porch that looked west to the sunset. We bundled up and had our morning coffee there while listening to the elks bugling. The kitchen had everything we needed for basics, beds were comfortable, but little sound proofing between floors. We just turned on the fan to block out the noise. This property may not be for everyone, but for the 8 of us, it was a perfect retreat and I would absolutely stay there again.

Whats not to love about this cabin!!? It was an amazing and beautiful cabin on the inside and out. This lovely cabin had all the amenities and the Yellowstone River was across the road. The views were amazing and breathtaking. It was very relaxing place. One of our favorites was the Elk in the front and back yard every day. In the evenings we spent our time playing cards or monoply and my favorite, porch sitting & star gazing. We all absolutey loved our stay and we are looking forward to a return trip. ~~Kingdon Family~~
