Best Bear Lake Trip

Thanks for making our Family vacation so memorable. Amazing location with spectacular views right above Garden City! The house was clean and in great shape. We will be coming back to Shundahai Lodge every year!

Family reunion vacay!

Beautiful view! Lots to do at the cabin including ping pong, pool, basketball, hot tub, foosball, games, etc. comfortable beds and open space! Perfect for our group. The lake was incredible and sunrise spectacular! Thanks so much!

Pioneer Day week retreat to Bear Lake.

This home was perfect for our needs, we had our whole family of 3 Adult children and their spouses as well as our six grandchildren. The rooms were very comfortable and the spacious kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. We enjoyed spending each evening sitting on the deck and looking out over Garden City and the lake. It was so peaceful compared to how busy the town was in the evenings. We had a great time at this home and the property manager kept great contact with us. I highly recommend this home for your vacation to Bear Lake.

The Views 😍☀️

The views were breath taking. It’s on a hill with no flat area to do lawn games other than the parking spaces(outside axe throwing games are a nice touch) but inside there’s plenty of room for our teens/ kids to lounge and play with the indoor arcade games. While main floor and downstairs were cold, the upstairs hvac only seemed to be putting out air that felt like 76 degrees or warmer. My family members upstairs were uncomfortable with that temp. The wrap around porch was our favorite and waking up to the sunrise as soon as you walk into any of the common areas on any floor was unreal. Booking was easy, property management was communicative, the kitchen was nicely stacked with cookware, and property was clean. The only updates I’d suggest is keep a basic supply of seasoning(salt, pepper & oil), and fix the upstairs air, and replace some of the toilet seats. They are still sturdy but it seems maybe the cleaning ingredients that’s being used is wearing down the seat enamel. Everything is was so great. We had a blast making memories there.

First ever family reunion

We stayed from Sunday to Friday. The home is spacious, a plus for large gatherings where sometimes you feel like everyone is bumping into everyone else. The kitchen was large, well-equipped, and (thankfully) labeled. Everything was in great working condition. The large dining area accommodated our group of 19, but it could have handled even a slightly larger group. If you add in the overflow space on the deck, then a group of 30 would be just fine (if I recall right, they said it could accommodate 33). The sleeping arrangements were great, with a variety of beds to choose from. The big hit was the bunk room for all the cousins to "sleep" together once they stopped giggling. The entertainment amenities were so fun. Ping-pong, billiards, small basketball hoops, foosball. Unfortunately, the retro pinball machine was out of order. The movie room downstairs was fun for the kids. The hot tub was also nice, especially in the cool of the evening. We rented a boat from Marine Rentals and went tubing, took the kids to the Adventure Park (which was very crowded), went horseback riding at Beaverlodge, my teenage boys enjoyed mountain biking at Beaver ski resort, we rented a UTV from Epic Recreation which was a lot of fun (there are plenty of trails in the mountains above the lake). The Pickleville Playhouse melodrama was a big hit, even for the little kids. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves and hope you will too. We'd do it again.

Gorgeous views! No lawn for games, faucet on the sink is broken. Could not reach the property owner

Very nice home, lots to do there. For such a big home there is no yard, no place outside. I feel that there are many hidden fees that are not figured in the nightly rental amount. Taxes and fees for everything, it was a lot more costly than originally thought.

Bear Lake 2021 Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay, it was convenient to all the things we wanted to do. Kitchen area was VERY sunny in the morning, shades needed! Check out was a little early for a group of 17, we scrambled to be out in time. Otherwise it was a great house!

Corporate owned?

The house is very nice, spacious and has beautiful views. 8 adults + children is about the max I would want in the house, unless you want shared room bunk beds. The house is somewhat oddly appointed; no rugs, rental style couches, no end tables or night stands, no lamps, very few wash clothes (maybe I couldn’t find them) made us wonder if any one actually owned this home. Several things were broken; basketball game, pinball machine, shelves in basement, banister heading upstairs. Lastly, their communication was very poor. Checkout on the property is 10 am and we asked for a late checkout prior to completing our booking (via messenger, email and a phone call) they waited until the day after we checked in to decline the request, citing cleaning time. The cleaning fee is almost $400 and 6 hours is a long time to get it cleaned, we were just asking for an extra hour but more importantly wish they had the courtesy to respond sooner.

Looks good on the outside, but the insides were falling apart.

Gorgeous home, in ‘theory.’ Kitchen Faucet broken all to heck. Refrigerator drawers badly broken. Washing machine doesn’t work properly, without triggering the sensor with a butter knife. Master shower didn’t work. Scratches all over the walls, and stains on the living room furniture. Big rip in living room couch. VOLES IN THE BASEMENT. I repeat: VOLES IN THE BASEMENT. Messaged Bear River luxury rentals about many of these problems, with no response. The location of the home is BEAUTIFUL. But that aside, paying this kind of money for a home in such disrepair, and not to mention sharing it with the wildlife, is very discouraging. Would not recommend this property to others until some major TLC.

Beautiful restful retreat

We had a women's retreat for our church with a dozen women at this lovely cabin for the weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the hot tub and the cozy fireplace. There was plenty of space and beds for everyone.

Worked out for us

This house worked out well for our reunion. Roomy, plenty of beds. Would have been a little better with another bedroom and another bathroom. (4 bathrooms for 32 people requires some scheduling) Two driveway entrances helped a lot with two boats

Gorgeous setting

The grand kids all came back from this outing asking if we could do it again. They loved the steep driveway for sledding, the hot tub, watching the moose eating snow in the front yard and the amazing views of both the lake and the mountains.

Beautiful family destination

Our family booked this house for a Thanksgiving extended family reunion. We loved every minute of our stay. The house is open and airy and the view is spectacular. Very clean and well maintained home. The bedroom configurations we're fabulous as well. We have used several VRBO properties in the past and this was by far the most conciously stocked property we have used. We have already talked about coming back in the future!

FANTASTIC!!!! Beautiful house, well furnished, plenty of room, great views. Every thing about it was wonderful. Very spacious for all 24 of us. When we first entered the home we discovered a leak in the ice making alliance in the fridge. We simply called maintenance and we had both capable and friendly service within minutes of our call. Loved the Shundahai Lodge!

Our family loved this property. There was plenty of parking space for our multiple cars. We had fun in the hot tub, having competitions on the indoor basketball game, playing pool, and ping pong. We spent a great day at nearby Bear Lake on jet skis, paddle boards, and the water trampoline. The kitchen was nice and large, with a pantry for our food, and plenty of seating. And there were big screen TV's in every main room for our down time. On the Fourth of July, we watched the fireworks over the lake from the main level deck. The house has a million dollar view of Bear Lake. We had a wonderful time!
