We stayed here for Easter weekend and had a good time! The house is old and could use a facelift with a deep cleaning but it was very cute. The amenities (cowboy pool and foosball table in the game room) were nice and the kids loved it. We brought our dog who loved running around the fenced in yard and exploring the huge deck. I’d recommend bring fishing poles and renting some kayaks to fully enjoy everything this property has to offer too.
We also celebrated by daughters birthday there on Easter weekend. There is a restriction on how many people can be on property at any time day or night even if they aren’t staying (7 people) and no parties so just be aware of that before booking.

We loved this little cabin! My husband, our 2 preteen boys, and my parents all stayed at this cabin for a weekend getaway and really enjoyed this property. The home is older, but well kept. The kitchen was nicely stocked - I would recommend bringing your own spices and oil - but there was a crockpot, large soup pot, mixing bowls, skillets, coffee maker, blender, french press, tupperware, and plenty of plates, cups, and flatware. The inside of the home was clean and the outside well kept. My boys really enjoyed the fire pit (we roasted smores), the cowboy pool (they took a cold plunge for a 20 bribe), and the indoor game room. I did not see photos of the game room upon booking so I will describe it. There is an L-shaped couch, flatscreen hung on the wall (we watched the UFC fight), and foosball table. The game room is connected to a bathroom with shower and a laundry area. I highly recommend this cabin and this area in general. Jamaica Beach was nice and quiet.

We had a very pleasant time during the week we were there in September. Very comfortable accommodations and the hosts were exceptional! They checked up on us to ensure we were having a pleasant stay and that was very much appreciated! Would definitely stay at a Beach Box property again!!!

It was a great property! Little pool for the kids to play in, nice deck for us to talk hangout and fish, cool little game room and a fully fenced in yard so my dog could play and roam and I didn’t have to worry about him getting out. And we were right across the street from the beach where we parked in the sand and set up our spot just steps away. Everything was fantastic and we had a blast.

Great place to stay for our guys trip to Galveston. Plenty of outdoor seating and deck space. Enjoyed the fishing and just sitting on deck relaxing with a cold drink. Beds were comfortable and everything was provided. Our group will definitely be back again for a longer stay.

Crab Shack home is a great place to stay

I spent weekend at the Crab Shack home, and it was just as described. Home was clean, kitchen was well-stocked. Communication with the host was easy and she graciously answered any questions or concerns. The location was perfect. My teenagers enjoyed fishing off the back boat deck. We were blessed with great weather and able to enjoy the spacious deck (no mosquitos during our stay). I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay at Jamaica Beach. I will definitely book again.

Easy check-in process. Property was clean, well kept, and equiped with essentials. Cowboy pool was small, but refreshing. Good access to wifi and streaming services. Fishing area on back deck. The only issue was the ladder/stairs to get to the 3rd floor bedrooms was a little difficult to navigate. Wouldn't recommend for people with mobility issues. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect stay in Jamaica beach

Spotless, well-equipped with everything needed for a cozy getaway. Near the beach & RV park, something for everyone. Our favorite part was the covered area below on the canal plus having small pool for staying cool! We WILL be back!

Positive comments: cowboy pool is amazing! Convenient location. Quiet area. Spent time with familyNegative comments: This place should be called The CRAP Shack, not The Crab Shack. It smells horrible of mold and mildew. Had to wash everything I brought just to get smell out of it once I got home. Beds are terrible. Bathrooms are falling apart. Nothing like the photos. No lounge chairs on deck. Kitchen stove burners were all lopsided and tilted. Downstairs was gross. I was alerted an hour before check in time that the cleaners were “running late due to traffic”. Promised completion by 5:00pm. (Check in is 4pm). Didn’t actually get the message until I pulled into property. Sat and waited for cleaners. They didn’t finish until way after 5pm. Poop stains on couch that I pointed out for them to clean. Had we not driven so far, we would have turned around and gone home. The place is disgusting. I will say, they did issue me a less than fair tiny refund and extended check out time for the cleaners being late. But I will never stay here again. It’s old, in much need of repair and upgrade. The bedroom on the main floor sleeps 4 and there is no place to put luggage or move around. Save your money and find another place. This one is disgusting!

Cute place but definitely needs some work

The house is cute but had a strong smell of mold upon entering. The pictures were deceiving as the furniture was older and stained. The back ladder for the bay is broken so the kids could not get in and swim which was disappointing for them. The car port ceiling had multiple leaks with mold growing outside of the paneling. Roof is missing many shingles. The mold is the biggest issue with this house. The kitchen also had some sticky cabinets. The upstairs bedroom tv was not working. The house was cozy and worked for the couple nights we stayed but could definitely use some updating and TLC. The mold is the most concerning issue.

Wasn’t horrible

It wasn’t horrible and we overall had a good stay. One thing that really bothered us was in the bedroom our 2 year old was staying in we found an open full bottle of someone’s tobacco spit spilled under the bed so we are just glad we found that and were able to clean it up before our 2 year old found it. Besides that is was clean for the most part. 2 bedrooms were upstairs and the kids bedroom is downstairs by the front door so we had to do rearranging so that they wouldn’t be by the front door by theirselves but then also the stairs to the third floor are very small and steep and dangerous for children and elderly to have to keep going up and down. The downstairs game room smells like mildew/ mold from water damage and all throughout the house, the ceiling was leaking in spots when it rained.
