  • Welcome to Under the Sun at Casa del Mar by My Galveston Getaway! We're happy to have you Come Stay With Us - just keep clicking, you've found the best mid floor condo with the best view and the absolute best customer service you'll find from a property manager in Galveston. Our favorite word is "yes" - how can we help make your stay amazing? Celebrating something - birthday, engagement, anniversary? If we can help make the stay great - just let us know.

    This cute, privately managed (not in a rental pool) condo at Casa del Mar is mid floor and just the most spectacular gulf views. We think we've got all you'll need to be right at home with the 4 burner electric range, microwave & fridge (nothing compact about THIS fridge), full bath with tub/shower combination that can be accessed either from the hallway or the bedroom, a queen bed with your own TV in that private bedroom, kid-appropriate bunks in the hallway niche, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. But the balcony - that's where you are going to want to be. Or in one of the two pools, or maybe, just maybe at the beach which is directly across the street and there is a protected crossing at the corner.

    Like all complexes (and most hotels) in Galveston - there is a parking/resort/facilities/amenities fee that is due on arrival to Casa del Mar. This is not charged by My Galveston Getaway or the condo's owner. When you arrive at the complex, please check in to the office and pay this fee - you will be provided with a parking permit and may be issued wristbands that identify you as registered guests at the complex, along with the WiFi code as the complex has a system-wide WiFi service. Casa del Mar charges $24 + tax for stays of 1-3 nights, $50 + tax for stays of 8-20 nights, and $75 + tax per month for extended stays. All visitors and guests are required to register at the front desk and pay the Parking Registration Fee in order to obtain a temporary parking permit. There is a maximum of 2 vehicles per stay.

    Casa del Mar does not allow renters to have a pet – so if you travel with Fido or Fifi – please check out the other My Galveston Getaway managed properties that ARE dog friendly. While true service animals are an exception – you very well may be asked by the complex to provide the verification. For short term rental/vacation purposes – emotional support animals are not considered true support animals and we are unable to make exceptions to a rule that is in place and enforced by a complex in which we manage condos. Kindly be respectful. All properties managed by My Galveston Getaway are 100% non-smoking/non-vaping properties.

    We look forward to hosting you in this privately owned condo that the owners entrust us to manage on their behalf. Each condo at this complex is privately owned - while we manage a few - we don't manage them all.

    We generally provide our guests with self check-in instructions 24-72 hours prior to arrival and then let them enjoy their stay without interruption - however - if you need us we are a phone call or email away - just let us know what we can do for you! While we are happy to answer any questions you may have, because the codes change regularly we will not provide check in information early.

    Like every condo complex in Galveston, Casa del Mar Condominium complex does charge a resort/parking/amenity fee – this is something that is paid directly to them when you arrive – we cannot collect or pay this on your behalf.

    What's included: Bed linens for all beds, bath, hand and wash cloth for each guest that the unit welcomes. We do not provide beach/pool towels and we do ask that ours not be removed from the condo and taken to the beach or pool. They can get damaged or lost.

    Starter supplies: 2 rolls of 2-ply, quilted toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher tablet, small dishwashing liquid, sponge, 2 small soaps, 2 small shampoos, trash bag, and coffee including sweeteners, stir sticks, powdered creamer to make that first pot. These are not intended to last your entire group through your entire stay - but to get in, get situated and figure out where you will shop for what on the island.

    There are pay per use laundry facilities at the complex – but not a washer/dryer in the condo itself.

    We strive for 100% guest satisfaction – or as we call them – 5 Starfish Reviews. This is why we try to be as honest as possible in our listings. So if you find anything upon your arrival that was not as we described it – please give us a call and give us a chance to make it right! We want you to be happy. We realize that everyone can make a mistake or have a bad day – it’s how you recover that shows your true character – so we would appreciate your giving us the opportunity to turn that frown upside down and make this the best trip you’ve had (so far – until you book your next one). VRBO also gives us the chance to review you as guests and we want to give you a 5 star review as well.

    Come Stay With Us at Under the Sun!

    After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.

    Galveston is a barrier island in Texas located on the Gulf of Mexico. From time to time we have unexpected rain, thunderstorms, and sometimes we do have tropical storms and hurricanes. From time to time there may be brief interruptions in electricity and WiFi services due to weather. You should consider purchasing trip interruption or cancelation protection through the platforms or another source. We are unable to guarantee sunny days, mosquito free nights and perfect weather, nor do we refund for these possibilities. We issue refunds in the event of mandatory evacuations issued by a governmental agency, or for the property being unavailable due to damages and extended power outages.

    For all reservations made directly through our website and through VRBO, there is a $300 security deposit “hold” required. You certainly can purchase trip cancellation/interruption coverage through those platforms as well if you so desire, this is a damage “deposit” hold. This is released once our housekeepers advise that the property has been left in the condition received with no damages occurring during your stay. This is not a charge, but a hold on the credit card on file with which the reservation is made. Should there be damages and they exceed $300 to repair or replace, you will be notified and asked to make arrangements to compensate for those items.

Host, made things right by getting us fresh towels and getting cleaning lady to come clean the next morning for us. Would definitley stay again.

The condo was clean, well equipped and in a perfect location. The only issue I had was with the lockbox as it appeared to be jammed and I initially had no way to leave the key as the office would not accept it. I called the number provided in my check in instructions and during normal office hours but no one answered the phone. I followed prompt to push button for emergency but again no one answered. I left messages but did not receive a call back through that process. I then sent an email concerning my situation with the key and someone called me back. I had to deliver the key to the office of the rental management company.
