The condo was great and as shown. Large, clean, comfortable beds, well-stocked, beautiful views, great patio, good appliances, great air conditioning, beach towels, extra bath towels and linens, everything you need! The elevator was working fine while we where there. If not, our trip would have been ruined. The unit is on the 2nd floor, which is really the 3rd, due to the garage level. There were no carts for loading and unloading. Something we have never experienced at a high end resort which made it difficult arriving and departing. This brings me to the cons. We chose this unit because it is very close to the beach crossover. However, there are multiple steps to get on the boardwalk and to get off beachside. It was unnavigable for us. We had to load the car and drive to another boardwalk with ramps each time we went to the beach. It was impossible for us to get kids and a wagon loaded with essential beach paraphernalia up and down the steps. This was very disappointing. Also, prior to our trip I had asked the owner if there was a pack and play available for infant sleeping. I was told no. So, we decided we needed to bring two cars from Waco. Upon arrival, we found a pack in play in one of the guest room closets. It was difficult to find parking for two cars. Even though the resort wasn't full, we had one assigned spot, but the others were mostly handicap spots. As for Pointe West itself, the resort is pretty, clean and well maintained. The restaurant is pricey, but very good! The resort is very far from things you might need. Especially a grocery store. It is time consuming to make trips back and forth, so be prepared to have what you need when you arrive. The closest market is about 5 miles away. It is nice, but small and over priced. The pools are nice, but small for such a large resort. The beachside pool has little shallow for small kids, just a tiny baby pool. The bayside pool has a small lazy river, but more shallow for little kids. Again, you have to load the car and drive pretty much anywhere you go, especially if you have kids. There was no information about the resort available in our condo when we arrived. I drove over to the beach club to pick up our wrist bands. I found them to be less than welcoming. When I called later with a few other questions, I felt as if they didn't want to be bothered. In summary, if you are okay with the resort and the location, the unit is great.
