Great stay at the Hermosa!

Our stay at the Hermosa was great! Clear view of the beach and there was a pathway right to the beach. In unit washer and dryer was really convenient and host provided laundry detergent. Good amount of towels provided and house was well air conditioned plus fans and window units.

Great Location

It was clean and as described. Steps from the beach with an ocean view. Slightly older house, but well-maintained. Also, comes with all the basic kitchen stuff, including flatware, pots and pans, etc. My toddler, dogs and wife all enjoyed their stay.

All About BEACH Access and Views

If you want beach access just 50 ft away, this is your place. The Aggie neighbors may keep you awake, so be prepared to call the Sheriff. They are quick to tell them to turn it down. Other than that it was what we expected. This place is for those who want to be outside!! Plenty of space and privacy to enjoy the Gulf!!! Bring extra toilet paper and beach towels, otherwise all stocked up. We enjoyed the Kayaks!!

This was a great place to stay. Great communication with great details about everything you need. We had a minor issue that was taken care of immediately, that is what you want in a host!

Weekend Getaway

Very easy walk to beach. Comfortable beds. Beautiful views of ocean from deck with nice Adirondack chairs. Needed more than a steak knife to cut up a watermelon— but other than that the kitchen had what we needed. No place to store snacks and pantry items, but everything worked out ok —we left snacks on counter top. Bedrooms are very bright at night even though there are blinds. Streetlight still came into our room. There are 2 windows in primary bedroom up high towards ceiling that let in a great amount of light making it bright even at night. Surprised at the amount of noise at night and early morning from cars on the main road (house is close to main road). High winds definitely make the house sway and move. We paid $250 pet fee and ended up not taking our dog. I advised host we were not taking our dog and the $250 was not refunded. It says non refundable pet fee but believed that was if we cancelled the whole trip. Be careful of this— if you choose not to take your dog you will not get the $250 back! Very disappointed to lose $250. Host did offer us another night stay, but we could not stay another day. We paid $150 for pier access but ran out of time and host did graciously refund the $150–very happy about that refund. Host was responsive and answered all our questions. Overall the home served our purpose and we enjoyed Galveston very much.

Had a great time

The hermosa house is awesome very clean, very comfortable, All the beds are very comfortable. Maria is prompt in getting back with you. And right out the back door is the beach. Very relaxing, and not far from anything. We enjoyed our stay there very much. We used the fishing pier and Maria gets the deposit back right away. Again we will be staying at Hermosa House next summer.

Location is great

The location was great. Just steps from the beach. The back deck is in excellent shape. Overall, the house was fine and served our purpose. The property manager was easy to work with and provided clear instructions. We had no issues with anything.

Great stay!

Our stay at “La Hermosa” house was amazing! This is our second time staying here, it was very clean and very spacious for my whole family! What we loved the most was the beach was just steps away! Very quiet and relaxing! Will be staying here again on our next trip to Galveston!

Review

Was not what was expected. If you don’t plan to be in the house much you’re ok but definitely not a very useful space for 12 people. Had to go buy toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags & ice to keep food cool because the fridge couldn’t keep up. House & everything is definitely out dated & could use an update. For a house ON the beach, be prepared to bring or buy your own beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas,etc. Hopefully all of the things we bought & left will be available for the next guest. Watch fine print for additional fees.

It was just okay

The house wasn't as clean as we expected. We had to clean as soon as we arrived. The furniture is not very comfortable. The home definitely needs a refresh as far as appearance. We really enjoyed the deck and how close we were to the beach.

great location

We enjoyed the house--the view, the back deck, the huge t.v., etc. We enjoyed the location of the house especially. The trail to the beach is literally right next to the house. We loved coming and going to the beach all day without having to make it a big ordeal.

Location iffy

We arrived after dark and couldn’t find our house. I would suggest that the house numbers be lighted. I thought we were getting a house on the beach. There was one house in front of ours but we still had a good view of the beach. I guess beachfront means the beach is in front of you rather than the way I took it to mean on the beach. But that was a miss interpretation on my part. It was a very short walk to the beach which was good. We were there for my granddaughter’s cheer competition at the convention center and that was the only real inconvenience. The location of the beach house was 14/15 miles from the center which was only bad because we had both morning and evening competition times so we had to make multiple trips back and forth each day. Again I knew the distance to and from but when you have to keep going back and forth it does get a little tiresome. But none of this was any fault of the owner. The kids enjoyed everything so that’s what matters.

Perfect

The location was perfect for what my family and I needed to do. The first night, we did have an issue with the AC unit but the owner immediately resolved the issue.. the owner was super nice and they took very good care of us. I will definely come back again
