Had an amazing stay. Pictures of house and views are accurate. House was clean, nice kitchen full of supplies and the AC was refreshingly cool after hours at the beach.

The house was awesome! My 4 grandsons loved being upstairs in the bunk room! The Primary Bedroom is spacious and the ensuite bath/shower was fantastic! With kitchen open to family room, it was easy to prepare meals and still be a part of the family. Everything about the house was great and I would love to stay there again!

The house was very nice house however, I did not care for the ring camera at the stairs. A better location would have been on the laundry door facing the stairs. I understand the need for one, but the location seemed a little intrusive. The kitchen and living room was awesome, it was set up nicely for large gatherings. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. There was a lot of things provided like chairs and beach equipment. Overall, it was well stocked with beach equipment.

This Home is as Described on VRBO. The Air Conditioner was amazingly Cold. The Linens and Towels are amply provided. The Fenced Yard is great for Pups.

Location was great complete with fabulous views of the ocean. The master bedroom shower was used by all—it was wonderful. House was clean and well-stocked for our multi family group. The upstairs deck was nice and when it got too hot, we used the covered downstairs area which was great. Still had an ocean view. The fenced in yard was perfect for the toddler and dog—it allowed us to relax more. A couple of small issues were addressed immediately, and much appreciated! Would have given 5 Stars but there is a mold problem primarily in the downstairs laundry room that needs to be addressed. Super easy check in and checkout!

Taken on upstairs deck. The pelicans flew over everyday.

We've rented various houses 14 previous times. This was the best supplied house as far as kitchen needs. Plenty of silverware, dishes, bowls.. and steak knives for everyone! Now that the grands are adults with partners, the house had plenty of options, even for the odd one night extra guest. The large fenced yard is an added bonus traveling with dogs. I can't recommend this house enough.

Great Layout Needs Lots of Repaira

The location and layout of the house was Great. The house needs lots of repairs and a good paint job inside and out. The house was very musty until we got it cooled off but could still smell the musty odor. Laundry room was so musty and moldy we had to leave the door open to go into it.

Great Family Time!

My husband and I planned this trip to celebrate our only child's 30th birthday. The weather didn't cooperate very well and the gulf experienced a sargassum outbreak, but we didn't care! It was fabulous to sit on the deck and watch the waves roll in.You can definitely tell the house is a rental and that some renters have treated it as such. We couldn't get the ice maker to work, there is some mold in the house, and a broken floor tile in the guest bathroom but the location is absolutely perfect! It was wonderful to have access to the pier where we went crabbing.There are tons of restaurants to choose from and I highly recommend Katie's Seafood House! Doc Holiday's was ok.Communication with the property management was excellent! All in all, I recommend staying here! The house is huge and easy to get to!

Galveston Wedding

House had great view and easy access to beach. Interior needs lots of work. Looks like baseboards were water damaged. Many broken exterior lights. Did not realize house only had parking behind garage doors. Did not have parking under the house like most of the beach homes built on stilts have. We had 5 cars and could barely park 3 at the house.

A Location and Space For Everyone

Communication was great, plenty of room for everyone, and 30 seconds from being in the water. Everything you need.Only thing I would say is they need to have someone come through and do a light bulb replacement everywhere inside , many lights aree needing replaced. But this did not take away from the experience at all, we will be back.

Fun at Leeward Retreat!

Our 3 generational family of 8, ranging in age from 21 to 78, had the pleasure of spending a 3-day weekend at Leeward Retreat. Prior to check-in, we found NewCentury Vacation Homes most accommodating in planning our trip. The location of the house is phenomenal-directly on the beach with a lighted path to the sand and beautiful 24-hour views of the Gulf. The fenced yard was ideal for our miniature Schnauzers. We all enjoyed the hot tub and hammocks on the lower level. Great eating areas both inside and out. Inside, the open living/kitchen area worked well for family time. Incredibly well-stocked kitchen for all cooking needs. The 4 bedrooms on the main level were ideal for our family, but the upstairs bunk room would also be handy for those traveling with children. When we plan another overnight trip to Galveston, we hope this house is available for us to make our home away from home!

Leeward Retreat Was A Treat!

Our family ended the summer at this beautiful home located right on the beach, which was one of the highlights of our trip. The bonus--it was very quiet which made for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The home is very true to the listing information and is very spacious with the 5 bedrooms. The fully stocked kitchen and large island were delightful and suited all of our culinary needs. Also, loved the big living room seating area, the hot tub and all of the games--both indoor and out. The beach umbrellas, toys, and tackle were also a plus. I would absolutely do a repeat and book Leeward Retreat again!

Family Time

We stayed here for a long weekend with our adult children and grandchildren. We loved the proximity to the beach and the outside shower to rinse off before going back in the house. The downstairs area was great for us to play games once the kids were asleep to keep the noise separated from them. The only negative is the kitchen supplies really need updating. The kitchen pans, silverware, cooking utensils, etc. all were lacking. Everything else was great.

Perfect view

This property has a spectacular view. The yard is perfect for pets. We had a little issue but was resolved by management quickly. We rented a golf cart but unable to use since motorized vehicles are not allowed on the beach. Great place

Very relaxing, warm, and a kiss goodbye to summer.

The kids enjoyed being at the house and on the beach so much they didn’t want to go anywhere! We assumed they would want to go to the amusement park, not a chance. We had pre-planned a night we would all go out to eat. They went…. But complained that they wished we could have just stayed at the house & on the beach. We will do this again. The house was a perfect fit for our families. (2 brothers and their families.)

This house needs work

Everyone I spoke with the management company was very nice, and the website they provide with information for the house is very helpful! They let us know ahead of time that the hot tub would not be working, and they apologized, so I thought that was nice. However, the house needs some major work! There are a lot of soft spots in the flooring that feel like the subfloor is rotting, and all of the wet surfaces could use a serious deep clean. There’s no backsplash in the kitchen, so the caulking behind the sink is moldy where the drywall meets the counter. There are gaps in the kitchen counter and the tile around the bathtub which leave spaces for bacteria to grow. The rainfall showerhead in the master is heavily clogged with hard water minerals, and there was mold on the shower mat and on the ceiling around the air vent. The home is in a good location but is in serious need of treating for bugs. We saw two water bugs inside the house, one in the kitchen drawers, and there were TONS of mosquitoes that seemed to enjoy the bottom patio area. We didn’t get to enjoy the outside of the home at all, which is a bummer since there is a really nice, new upper deck area. The house was decorated nicely, and the beds were very comfortable, but this house just has a lot of things that need to be addressed.

Great Beach Get Away
