The proximity to the beach can’t be beat! The double bunk beds were also nice. There are no beach amenities (chairs or towels) which was disappointing for a beach rental. Also not great storage (no dressers, closets full of random stuff like a Christmas tree). Overall it was worth it for the location, but might not be the best fit for someone who wants to feel more settled or have beach amenities.

2 minute walk to beach. Very convenient.I would suggest throw blankets in living and additional blankets on the beds. The AC runs verry cold, we had it at 74, and that was too cold.

We stayed from Sunday night to the next Saturday morning. Overall we enjoyed the house. We did however experience one major issue. The hot water heater stopped working at the beginning of our stay, like our very first night cold showers for all 3 adult and 2 toddlers. The shower was lukewarm the first minute of use then after that cold. We communicated our concerns through the app and don't get me wrong they replied to every message in a timely manner-like within 10 minutes. Their first reply was sometimes it takes the tank a long time to fill up again, although the shower were the first things we used on the property, like we hadn't used the washer or dishwasher prior to showers. After many days of communicating and not trying to waste our vacation trying to stay in the house and fix the problem, the hot water had to be replaced and it was a tankless. So we spent most of the vacation taking cold showers. It wasn't their fault per say, but still my issue is we spent just as much money as anyone who stays there BUT we got a crappy end of the deal. No partial refund like 100 for the extreme inconvenience. No giftcard to a local restaurant as a "sorry this happened to yall on our watch." Try telling 2 toddlers covered in a days worth of sand, sweat, food, and sunscreen to step in a cold shower four day straight. I feel like that bad experience overshadowed other fun experiences.

Absolutely filthy. Roaches every day, all over the house. HVAC filter and cover corroded Roaches there too. Communicated state of home, requested cleaning be done following day. The 2 "cleaners" arrived before we were informed they were coming, after I was told we would be notified when they were coming. Very awkward to meet them face to face, with the obvious hanging in the air. They should not have NEEDED to be there. If these 2 people were responsible for cleaning this house to prepare for our stay, THEY SHOULD BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY for lying to their employer, being paid for work they failed to do. 1 of them informed me through phone translater, that they were only going to mop and vacuum, because as she said, "We're busy today." Someone needs to instruct these individuals, that you don't ever, and I mean EVER, address our customers that way! We held up our end of the bargain when all fees were collected from us without incident, which included, a cleaning fee. This home was filthy. The cleaner had 1 bucket for mopping. Properly mopped floors require 2 buckets, 1 for cleaning agent, 2nd is for rinsing, and the 2nd one gets emptied and replaced as often as the water turns dark. She dumped the filthy water into the kitchen sink. You never do that. It goes outside, or in a toilet. They were there about 20 minutes. We demand you return our cleaning fee, as well as 500 for our troubles. I cleaned your house. We were treated disrespectfully in word and deed. Unacceptable.

We’ve stayed here a couple of times. The place is quaint, but great for us as a couple and we’ve always enjoyed our stay, this time included. But, I have to make some complaints this time. Namely, there is a situation with the hot water they need to fix. They’ve somewhat recently converted the original one bathroom to two, and it seems to have not been fully thought through. We had no hot water when we arrived, and after getting a maintenance guy out there, it was of his opinion that the tankless system was too small to provide hot water throughout the house. He turned the temp up, but we really only had somewhat hot water out of the one shower and sink. The rest of the house struggled to get above lukewarm.There’s a lot of nitpicky things I would not normally mention, but given the hot water situation, and the fact they are somewhat persistent issues, I want to mention them.There’s a bit of a bug/roach issue. I realize this is hard to manage in the locale, but there’s definitely a bit of an infestation issue in the kitchen. It is not so bad as to be completely off putting, but it needs to be held in check.The ceiling fan in the master bedroom hangs from the ceiling and is basically unusable. This was the case 2 years. Same with the broken closet door. I’m running out of space, but in general, the owner needs to take a careful eye over the place and just take some time to give things a little attention. It’s a good house for the price, I hope it stays that way.

Nice trip.

The house was cute and adequately equipped. The problem was roaches. We contacted the renter and informed that we would like someone to come out to take care of the issue. Never heard back from them and no one came out. We found 3 cans of Raid roach spray. This made it very clear that they are aware of the problem. Otherwise, a fun trip.

Great location. Easy to get to. Fit our overnight stay very well. Might want to focus on some details like our bathroom sink was very loose and towel rack too. If you provide a Keurig coffee pot might eant to include a few pods. Overall it was good.

The House was clean and comfortable for our small group. It's located on across from a stretch of beach that was just improved with new sand and the beach was great. The appliances at the house could be upgraded as we had issues with the washing machine - discovered you can only wash 2 towels at a time and the fridge would not keep cool. We notified management and they should be replacing / fixing but we had to buy ice and keep our food in a cooler during our stay which was a bit of a pain.

Roaches, no washing machine, no internet

The listing was accurate in that it was a 3 bedroom property. But that is about where it stopped. The house was infested by roaches that would invade the entire kitchen every night. We didn't feel comfortable eating in the house ever. The washing machine didnt work. So we couldnt wash the sand off towels, swim suits, etc. The internet didnt work until 2 days in after they had xfinity come out to fix it. But then the tv still didn't work. For what we paid, it wasnt worth it. It was close to the beach and does have a good amount of space. But just go in with eyes wide open. It's run down with pretty much nothing in working order.

We had a wonderful stay! The location was absolutely lovely, and communication with the owners was smooth and responsive throughout. The home’s proximity to the beach was a huge plus — just a short walk away with a beautiful view to enjoy from the house!We really appreciated how well-stocked the home was. The owners clearly went above and beyond with kitchen supplies, towels, and even fans, which made our stay extra comfortable. While the home is a bit smaller than others we've rented, the thoughtful layout and ample seating created a nice sense of open space and functionality.The house itself was clean, charming, and very welcoming. There are a few minor maintenance issues worth noting — the towel rack and toilet paper holder in one bathroom were loose, and one of the deck railings was coming loose. Also, the Roku remote wasn’t functioning properly, and it would’ve been helpful to have a more intuitive TV setup. We had to use a phone app to access streaming, which wasn’t ideal. Additionally, two unrelated packages were delivered during our stay, which felt a little odd but wasn’t disruptive.Overall, these were minor issues and didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our time here. The home, the hosts, and the location all made for a truly enjoyable stay.

I was very unhappy. First and foremost roaches under all small appliances. TV remote did not work. Still under someone else’s name and pin. Washer front panel fell off rusted on sides.porch railing top left side was loose someone could have fallen. Rusted nail on steps 23 year old granddaughter cut pher foot. Again didn’t realize sleeps 10 included 6 adult people in bunk beds really? Couches uncomfortable and was hoping they were sleep sofas. Kitchen table and chairs very small and uncomfortable. Beds and sofas shook with people walking up and down steps besides understandable wind. Master bathroom sink loose and toilet paper holder old and rusted. It was our 55th anniversary and had invited 6 family members to join us. I was embarrassed. I guess I thought there was another bedroom. 2 of our adult grandchildren ended up sleeping on the hammocks downstairs. Again my fault by not researching better and just looking at pictures. I am 76 and have never in my life ever complained about anything. I am sorry but I had to be truthful and that is all I can remember right now. I believe I should get at least a partial refund

Great location, perfect house for our family trip

This house was exactly as described and it was perfect for our family vacation! We traveled with four kids (6, 4, 2, and 1). We loved the location. Jamaica Beach is just far enough outside of Galveston to avoid the crowds but close enough to hit up tourist attractions if you want! And the house was a very short walk to the beach. We could see the house doors from where we camped out on the beach each day. Made it very easy to go back and forth for lunch, reprieve from the sun, kid naps, etc. Property Manager was very responsive and easy to communicate with. House had all of the necessities and there really wasn’t anything it was missing (would suggest bringing your own shampoo/soap as the ones provided are pretty small.) The only thing it was missing was beach towels, toys, chairs/wagon. We had to rent everything beach related which was an additional thing to coordinate but it worked out fine. Very pleased with this house and our experience. Would highly recommend!
