I would give this a negative number if I could. As soon as you open the door, there is a damp musk smell that burns your nose. The house has mold along baseboards, the bathrooms, and the hot water tank room has black mold. After checking the reviews, I learned the owner is aware of this according to reviews but the problem is still there. The home has not been maintained. Wooden chairs have legs that rock and are unstable. There is a dehumidifier in the living room. The bathroom was nasty and poorly cleaned. One garbage can for the entire unit. The kitchen was poorly stocked with pots/pans, etc. we had to go out to buy basic essentials normally found in rentals. The home has multiple broken blinds, dead roaches, and drain flies flying around. The outdoor fire pit table was inoperable. The nightmare continued when I was showering and the water completely stopped. With a head full of shampoo, I had to get out of the shower to get cold bottled water to rinse off! The water quit working in the entire unit for 30 minutes or more. I called the front desk who connected me to the property manager. I left a voicemail and never got a call back. This was the worse experience ever. The sheets were no more than a 300 thread count, uncomfortable cheap throw away pillows and bed. I’m not sure how Vrbo allows this place to be listed. I would RUN the other way!

Amenities really need updating. Broken furniture and appliances, light bulbs needs replacing- thats not hard to do. Otherwise that location has always been a favorite for my family.

The location of the unit is great. BUT the unit had mold from a previous stay and the company knew about the issue and still rented us the unit. Communication with PM and horrible. You get a new AI response every time. 1/10

Mold Issues

When we arrived there was a very very strong mold odor which my husband found evidence they were aware of this issue because they had dehumidifiers, DampRid boxes/bag, and air freshener to mask the smell but he also found the actual MOLD. We called that night requesting a new room or a refund so we could book a new location. There was no notification, even with daily calls, until after we had left that they would only be refunding 125. We would have gladly left the night we came and rented a new unit but unfortunately, because of no notification we stayed in the unit, and due to having to stay, my family returned sick. I would not recommend this unit until the mold issue is solved.

Birthday Getaway

My family and I stayed here to celebrate my daughters birthdays. We wanted to be within 30 minutes of Galveston and this was a little under that. We didn't use the Beach club pool but it looked really nice and clean.

DISAPOINTING

DIRTY - DIRTY - vents were filthy, floors sticky on bare feet, utensils food still stuck to them, no ice maker in fridge, dryer did not work for longer than 5 mins, no batteries in remote. Very outdated and old grimy looking furniture. I have photos that have been sent to property manager waiting on reply

Nice area, bad condo

Where do I start.. we couldn’t get in the condo. The email had a code with letters for a number pad without letters. We stood outside for 45 minutes in 102 degree heat. We stayed on hold trying to reach someone. The elevator didn’t work when we got there. The floors were filthy. Our feet were black. I had to complain and someone came to clean the main area. No hand towels or wash cloths. And one towel for each person. Pots and pans sucked. And hardly there- bring your own. Nothing to wash dishes with. Microwave was leaking water. Pool area was nice and security was tight. Make sure you buy armbands. The west end of Galveston lost water on our stay which wasn’t nice at all. The chairs were broken and worn out on the balconies. The AC was fantastic. Stayed nice and cold. The beds were comfortable. The pool is heated so that kinda sucked being that it was so hot.

The place was not clean dirty floors counters dinner table needed sweeping and mopping bathroom floors dirty all bed mattress terrible stains. Had to call housekeeping to come over and help with cleaning.

Pointe West in August

We had a hard time checking in because we were not given the right code to get into the Condo and we had a hard time getting hold of the owner and management. The location was great. We loved being so close to the lazy river pool. The kitchen was poorly stocked we barely had enough silverware. The garbage disposal quite working we sent a message to the owner and called management twice with no reply. Overall we had a great time with just a few problems.

July 11th 4 days stay

No blinds on balcony doors. A refrigerator shelf was broken. The floors need scrubbing because our feet became black from walking on them. Electronic door look didn’t work. Overall, would stay there again because of the location,but the above mentioned problems should be addressed

Property needs help

We loved the location of the property. However, the condo needs help. It was not clean, most of the dishes are broken and there were very little flatware. When we arrived we were given the wrong code to enter so we had to contact Vacasa to give us an alternate code. When a realtor showed up to show the property, we understood why the property has been so poorly maintained. I would stay in this area, but in a different condo.

Disappointed with our stay

It took us over 20 minutes to gain access to the unit when we arrived at 4:00 PM. The door code wasn’t working. Inside the unit has an unpleasant odor. The flush handle in the hallway bathroom was broken. All the A/C vents were dirty, rusty and unsightly. The Patio door blinds were broken and offered no privacy. We found a baby lizard on the floor of the master bedroom. The furniture in both the living room and patio look old and need to be replaced. There were no dustpan in the unit to pick up trash. Both the twin beds need to be replace with new ones. Overall we were all disappointed with the condo unit and believe it wasn’t worth the money that we paid to stay there. We will not recommend this unit to anyone as it now stands. The owner needs to invest money to clean up and renovate this unit!

Dirty condo with dingy furniture

We received a text saying we could check in an hour early. When we got up to the condo the door wouldn’t open so I called and we had to use the locked key. The key code never worked so we had to call back again for another code. This condo was not clean. It looked as if the floor had been vacuumed and bathrooms cleaned, but the floors had not been mopped. After walking barefoot a couple of hours are feet were completely black. The air filter was covered in dust and a lot of the dishes were clearly not cleaned. The furniture was very dingy and my daughter pulled a dirty sock out of one of the chairs, along with old cheerios. The patio furniture was old and falling apart. We struggled to get the dishwasher working. The kitchen only has a few glasses, tall ones, not small or anything for mixed drinks. For the price we paid and the location of this condo I am very disappointed! We’ve stayed at pointe west before and this was a big time down grade. I contacted about a cleaning fee refund but have not heard back. We won’t stay here again.

Family stay

We enjoyed out stay here and enjoyed the view. Lots of room but the bedding didn't seem clean in 1 room as there was blood on the sheets. The garbage disposal is broken and the sink kept backing up. Very disappointed the pool was closed the entire time had I known this I wouldn't have booked this condo. Elevator didn't work on the last day so we had to carry luggage up and down stairs. We enjoyed the stay but there were issues with those details.

Nice place

My family very much enjoyed our stay. Our balcony over looked the lazy river which was nice. And we were a quick drive to the main pool and beach area. We enjoyed the restaurant and game room as well. One suggestion would be to bring a swiffer to sweep the floor daily as sand and grit gets everywhere. And the floors were a bit dirty to begin with. Over all a great place to stay.
