We had 4 generations/multiple families traveling with us so side by side houses were perfect for us. We rent vacation homes often and this was these were the most well stocked houses We've ever stayed in......Thanksgiving dinner for 18 and we could all sit in one room together! While we did have to inconvenient but not trip ruining issues the host Steve responded to all messages immediately and resolved it (even on Thanksgiving Day). We did not use community pool but the hot tubs at each house were a bug hit. We would definitely rent these houses again!

We were in town for our son's wedding at Oak Hill Farm. The houses were great! Love that each bedroom had it's own bathroom, made it great for everyone getting ready for wedding. Kitchens were well equipped, and the screened in porch was perfect.

We rented both houses for our book club retreat (19 women). The houses were very close together, which we appreciated so we could easily walk back and forth. Nineteen women said the house was very clean (thats an impressive review in itself). The house had everything we needed to serve meals for a large group. Beds were comfortable. The host was extremely responsive to the several questions we asked. Several in iur group said they want to come back! The only downside to this property is the trash disposal process. You have to take your trash on a 2 mile drive and use a key card to drop off at a large trash compactor. Hauling the trash was an inconvenience on its own, but the biggest inconvenience was the need to have the keycard, because you had to then go back to the house to drop off the card. Using a keypad pin would make that process a little less combersome. If you're still hunting for a large property for your family or group, look no further....book this one!

These homes were perfect for our 3-generation family vacation. There was plenty of room and seating to gather, and options to keep everyone happily occupied - from the youngest to the oldest - whether they wanted recreation or a little serenity. The homes were comfortable, spotless, and had all the supplies we could possibly need. The decor was warm and inviting, and we loved spending time on the screened-in porches. The setting and views from the house were breathtaking. Steve was an attentive host, promptly responding to all questions and messages. We would stay at these homes again in a heartbeat.

Good time

Nice place. Had trouble getting in, but after many, many tries and contact with the manager, we did get it to open. The bottom door to go out to the hot-tub had a broken deadbolt. We ended up removing the part and covering back up to be able to get in and out the door. Quite a bit of garbage laying around the hot-tub...beer cans, etc. Generally, it was a nice open area with nice bedrooms. Cupboards and drawers were nicely stocked.

Time With Our Family

Difficulty using the code for entry in both units. Difficulty in lowering temperature in both units. Filter in dishwasher very dirty, washed most by hand and used paper plates instead. The dinner plates provided are too large to stand up in racks and allow the spraying arm to revolve. Coffee pot took about an hour to brew coffee. Furniture was very uncomfortable, hard to get out of. I don’t like to complain but these issues really need to be improved. SORRY.!!!!

40th anniversary gathering

The houses were clean and as advertised. Each bedroom had an attached bathroom which was greatly appreciated. Stephen was very accommodating and available. Would definitely stay at HALM property again.

Wonderful vacation

Family weekend

We booked both houses for our annual family weekend (plus a few others close by) and they worked out great for our large group. The kids could easily play in between and navigate safely between the 2 homes and there were multiple other rentals in very close proximity. The open space was great for hosting dinner, and there were enough bathrooms for every family to have their own plus more. The kids were bummed they couldn't use the hot tubs, but with the warm temps that didn't end up really being an issue. Overall we highly enjoyed our stay.

Wedding Home Base

We stayed for a long weekend for our wedding in Galena. This was a great place to host our bridal party and enjoy a lot of quality time with our friends! The owners club is a very nice perk with access to the pool and fitness center!

Best Family Stay EVER!

Nineteen of us,ages 3 to 70, arrived at Canterbury Court for a three-day stay. This is our ninth year of family vacations, & our crowd agreed this spot was the best so far! Would recommend it for everyone who wants to make beautiful memories with loved ones!
