Het appartement is heel ruim en biedt voldoende plaats aan vier volwassenen. Ook het terras heeft ongekende afmetingen en is zeer zonnig gelegen. Via de wenteltrap is een kleiner terras bereikbaar met zicht op de haven. Het terras is voorzien van een zonnescherm. De keuken is goed ingericht voor een langer verblijf. Eenvoudig te bedienen wasmachine. Goede wifi die echter de achterste slaapkamer niet bereikt.

Disappointed

This could be a lovely flat but in need of attention. Communication - I tried to contact the owner via VRBO before the holiday started and did not get a reply, after a week I ended up contacting him through another rival online rental site (he responded in under 2hrs). Local contacted was also very poor at responding. No dishwasher (even though advertised as having a dishwasher), no curtain pole in one bedroom - you can see where it’s fallen down. Wires hanging down from ceiling in one bedroom and kitchen. Outdoor canopy doesn’t work - told the local contact but no response. No outside cushions for lounger so you can use them. Outdoor gazebo coverings no longer there - looks like they’ve been removed. Lovely balcony up the spiral stairs but no seating (although pictures show seats). Several windows don’t lock , so you have to close and lock the shutters to secure the property. Very central location - noisy (but you’d expect that), but a lot of drunks hanging around and evidence of drugs. This is our third time to Funchal and definitely the worst location. We’ve rented many flats/houses around the world and this was one of the worst, other than the potential it’s hard to say anything poditive.

Fantastic!

The apartment was in a perfect location. Across from the market and one block from the Old Town. The apartment was exactly as advertised and met all our expectations. It as clean, modern and the kitchen had everything needed including a washing machine! Luis was very attentive to any questions we had. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone and would go back ourselves.

Superb holiday

Luis was there to meet us and show us round the apartment, everything was as described, clean and very well equipped. Lovely decor and views from the balcony. They beds were a little hard but that was our fault as we were used to memory foam mattress. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we return.

Brilliant location, fabulous patio

It would be impossible to find an apartment with a better location for enjoying Funchal than this one. Right by the Mercado do Lavradores, and walkable to everywhere. The really good A Bica restaurant just below, but tons of restaurants etc in the immediate area to choose from. We loved the spaciousness of the apartment and especially the huge sunny outdoor patio with views over the mountains and cable car. A great value rental.

Nice but a little tired.

Great location. Property as described but one or two shortcomings. Oven plus one other appliance caused power outage. Dangerous ironing lead which needs replacing. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the apartment is a little tired arising from the lack of general maintenance.

Very central location with a large amazing terrace

The Apartment is very spacious and very well equipped. We particularly liked that there are patio doors from the living room and two double bedrooms straight onto the terrace. Between the terrace and the small upper terrace the apartment gets sun all day. Luis was very helpful in booking our transfers from and to the airport.

Spacious apartment in a great location

The location of the property was ideal; very convenient for the centre of Funchal but not too noisy. The apartment was very spacious, with the bonus of a great terrace with plenty of space for everyone to relax, plus the small upper terrace which offered views down towards the harbour.

Fabulous Apartment in the centre of Funchal

The living room and two double bedrooms are of a good size and all have patio doors onto the large terrace. It is very well furnished with a large kitchen. There is also another small terrace on the level above which has lovely views over Funchal. These terraces allow the apartment to receive the sun all day. It it very close to an excellent restaurant called A Bica and a large supermarket as well as the Mercado. We had a very enjoyable time in the apartment and hope to return in the future. Luis was very helpful and organised transfers for us to and from the airport in a private hire car which worked very well.

Central, clean and welcoming.

Noisy upstairs neighbours, late at night. They Need slippers! Not enough hot water. Need dishwasher for hygiene reasons. Beds a bit hard. Lovely flat very clean and unfussy decor. Enjoyed our stay, will be back, can get over all drawbacks EXCEPT the lack of dishwasher. Very central. Welcoming ,friendly staff.

Fabulous location with everything you could need for a relaxing holiday!

The apartment was ideally located to be in the heart of Funchal and offered all amenities and masses of space. The enormous terrace is a joy, with magnificent views of the mountains, sea and cable car. The addition of the gazebo, patio furniture and large parasol enhanced our enjoyment of it and we could have stayed on the terrace all day. Inside, the apartment has lots of room and is light and airy. The new sofa creates a modern look which works with the more traditional furniture. The kitchen was well equipped and everything very clean. The parking spaces were very useful and the external spaces well-maintained. Luis was most welcoming and helpful, particularly accommodating of our luggage on departure day, and we would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to experience the real Funchal!

Superbe appartement

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour (sauf la météo mais Luis n'y est pour rien) dans un très bel appartement, spacieux, très propre, très confortable et meublé avec beaucoup de goût. La terrasse est immense et permet lorsque le temps le permet de manger dehors et de s'y reposer en regardant passer les cabines du téléphérique. De plus, l'appartement est idéalement situé, en plein centre ville, à deux pas du marché et de tous les commerces. Si je reviens à Madère je choisirai sans aucun doute l'appartement de M. Luis Carvalho.

Spacious, with a great terrace and good facilities

Located in the old town, with cafés, restaurants, supermarkets and the farmers market on your doorstep, the apartment is situated in a fantastic spot. Terrace looks out over the city and the cable car that takes you up to the tropical and botanical gardens. We had a great time in the apartment and enjoyed the buzz of East Funchal. Luis met us at the apartment as agreed and was very helpful, with tips to enjoy Madeira. Highly recommended, we would go back in a minute!!

Excellent Apartment

We have been visiting Madeira for the last 25 years, almost every year, some times twice in a year. We have concentrated on Funchal stays for the last 8 years, and have stayed in various locations and apartments. This apartment is definitely the best for our needs, ie accommodation, location size, utilities and that Marvellous balcony. Easy access to shops, markets, buses, restaurants and cafes, please visit Yummies just over the road, lovely couple, and great food. Luis was very welcoming, and only a phone call away for any quieries. Will definitely be back next year, if possible. Regards Thelma and Donald Askew
