Beautiful building in a superb location

Quiet, light and very spacious apartment right in the centre of the old town. Very well kitted out kitchen, comfortable beds and very private with a view over a lovely square.

Fantastic stay in the center of Funchal

This large apartment is located in the same house as Blandys. Apart from a small issue with the electronic lock at checkin, our stay was excellent.The apartment was large enough for 5 persons. Many restaurants within a few minutes walk. We very much liked the stay and will come back for another stat in the future

Great apartment in perfect central location

Very roomy apartment of great historic character in a fantastic location for visiting Funchal and surprisingly quiet given the central location. Won't suit everyone (for example, 2nd floor stair access will be very difficult for any with mobility issues) but for those it does, couldn't be bettered.

Great, but unclean place

Great location, great apartment and very professional agency. However, the appartment is somewhat tired and could do with a solid spring clean. I would not recommend a stay unless the cleaning standards improve.

Charming apartment in the historical center

We spent three days in this charming old fashioned apartment, with a lot of space and light. The location is paramount, at the center of the city, in a very nice setting overlooking the municipal garden. The surroundings are a bit noisy at times but the flat is well isolated. Very comfortable overall. Would definitely recommend.

Séjour agréable à The Wine Lodges

Nous avons passé une semaine agréable au Wine Lodges. L'appartement est idéalement situé, en face du jardin municipal, à quelques minutes à pied du port, du centre historique et de petits restaurants sympathiques. L'appartement est très vaste, très lumineux, aéré et dans un immeuble tranquille. Il n'est toutefois pas tout neuf; quelques désagréments sont liés à son ancienneté (sanitaires à rénover notamment). La cuisine est refaite, et la buanderie est un plus. La literie est confortable. Attention pour le parking ; le parking du centre commercial voisin n'est pas ouvert le dimanche.

Funchal Airport Delays

Found you were good people to deal with. Will not return to Madeira because of the delays at Madeira airport. We had to wait over an hour just to clear immigration , being elderly we found this both tiring and distressing . The queue's are entirely avoidable by opening up more checkouts. There were well over 1000 people in the queue and the airport authorities took no action to remedy the situation.

Nice Stay in Bual apartment

Had an enjoyable two weeks in the Bual suite. Auto check in is easy and the staff communicate by text messaging. The location is ideal for the promenade, the old town and the newer part of town. The suite is more spacious than the photos indicate and has good facilities. The air conditioning in the bedrooms is very effective and quiet, the kitchen and utility rooms are both well equipped. The main bedroom is very large and the bright lounge has a great holiday feel to it with the windows open and the breeze blowing in past the voile. Standing on the Juliet balcony there is a nice view over to the park across the street. Good restaurants very close. Cable channels on good size TV including Sky news to keep you updated. Highly recommended for your Funchal stay. Also recommend you use the suggested taxi service on your booking (around 20-25 euros to/from airport) and reliable.

Great place!

This apartment is HUGE!!! All of the rooms are very large. We felt like royalty staying there! And it's located across from one of the most beautiful municipal parks I've ever seen; It was a joy walking through it every day. Neighborhood felt very safe, and there were TONS of great restaurants nearby. It was also very quiet inside the apartment. The only negatives were that the bathroom had a strong sewer and chemical smell when we first arrived. Opening the window helped. The smell would come and go but never fully went away. I hope they can figure out what the issue is - that was a real minus for us. The air conditioner in the large bedroom leaked badly after a few hours of use, and the air conditioner in the small bedroom never seemed to get entirely cool. (It's possible there was something I didn't press on the small room remote to get the temperature to change but there were no instructions, so I tried everything that seemed logical.) The Management tried to get maintenance to come by while we were there, but they were too busy - hopefully that will all be remedied by the time new guests arrive. The communication with the rental team wasn't always timely or adequate. We were told several times that "someone would come to take a look" (at the bathroom odor, the air conditioner) but no one ever came and we were never told that plans had changed and that no one would be coming. Also, there were supposed to be instructions for the washer, but there weren't -- Those would have been very helpful! (Again, hopefully management will provide those for future guests, as there's a place in the guest booklet for them) In a HUGE plus, we were compensated for our inconvenience (bathroom smell and dripping water waking us up at night) and that was most appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend this wonderful place - it really was wonderful to stay here and have so much space to spread out in.

Great stay in the center of Funchal

The apartment was great in many ways: size, cleanness, appliances, sound proofing. There's really nothing negative to mention. Just a heads up that, if you have a car, it can be a bit tricky to find free parking but that comes with the central location.

Beautiful holiday in Funchal

Apartment was so big and in very nice location in the centre of Funchal. That was so nice, quiet and pleasant place Thank you much, that we could stay there!
