Vistas for Days

From booking through checkout, we had a wonderful experience. The villa was clean, comfortable, and had beautiful views of Funchal and the ocean. We appreciated all the amenities and found it the perfect jumping off point for all our adventures, whether it was hiking, visiting the botanical gardens, or going for dinner by the shore.

Great week in Monte-Funchal

Very comfortable house, well equipped, wonderful view over Funchal. Excellent location for visits to Monte, the city centre and short drives to beautiful hikes. Only disadvantage is that the road is very close and sometimes a bit busy.

Great villa

Four of us shared this recently converted villa for 10 days. Ideal accommodation for us spread across three bedrooms. Loved the outside pool and terrace with great views across Funchal. Sitting in cloud occassionally, but that's the price you pay to be up high. We appreciated the private parking area, but also used the bus service in and out of Funchal. Really nicely appointed villa and well maintained and managed through Our Madeira ... thanks.

Fabulous Views

The Villa is excellent, the outside space made this property. The Villa was well stocked. The Panoramic views of Funchal were fabulous. We had a car which made it easy to explore the island but you can get about very easily using buses and taxis. The roads near the Villa are very steep but that was all part of the fun. The cable cars and toboggans at Monte are only a short bus ride away. We stayed over the flower festival which was an unexpected surprise Funchal was very clean which you don’t always find in capital cities.

high standard holiday accommodation

We had a very relaxing and refreshing stay. The house is at a very high standard, it was spotlessly cleaned and decorated at a beautiful modern, understated interior design. It was wonderful to return from our various trips over the island to this place where we could enjoy the view of the endless ocean by day and the lights of Funchal by night. We felt very well looked after by the agency on arrival and when checking out. - There is a road of medium size going round the property with some traffic on it (a few metres below the level of the property) however we did not feel disturbed by it and the house itself is very well insulated, so during the night it was very quiet. - We also took advantage from the busstop right in front of the property and on two occasions walked uphill to Monte (quite steep, but not longer than 20 minutes), using the little road behind the house. In Monte one then can take the cable car down to Funchal.

Tolle Unterkunft mit sehr schönem Blick auf Funchal.

Wir haben das Haus im Februar für eine Woche gebucht und haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Ausstattung und Komfort sind wirklich lobenswert. Bei Sturm hat man allerdings ziemlich laute klappernde Geräusche von den Seilen, die gegen das Sonnenverdeck schlagen. Das könnte einem nachts den Schlaf rauben. Wir wussten uns aber zu helfen und haben die Seile mit Handtüchern umwickelt. Hat keine 2 Minuten gedauert und das Problem war abgestellt. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können diese tolle Haus nur weiterempfehlen. Bei Anreise mit dem Mietwagen sollte man sich der sehr steilen Straßenverhältnisse aus Madeira bewusst sein, da das Haus in ca. 500 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel liegt. Dafür wird man aber mit einem fantastischen Ausblick belohnt. Dass das Haus direkt an einer Straße liegt, hat uns persönlich nicht gestört. Im Winter ist die Straße vielleicht auch nicht so stark befahren. Von uns gibt es 5 von 5 Sternen.

Vila da Portado

Die Bilder und Beschreibung der Villa entsprachen den Erwartungen. Sehr sauber und top ausgestattete Küche. Der Ausblick auf Funchal ist genial, wenn auch etwas getrübt durch die vielen Stromkabel in umittelbarer Nähe. Auch ist die Strasse, die am Haus vorbeiführt doch sehr befahren. Ansonsten können wir die Villa empfehlen, würden aber das nächste Mal eine ruhigere Unterkunft auswählen.

Fantastic villa

Everything you need was in the villa . swimming pool perfect and bus stop 2 minute walk away takes you up to the top or down to the bottom of Funchal . Would highly recommend staying here 👍

Villa da Portada 100%

This villa has everything you need. Good wifi, Dishwasher, Washing machine fresh coffee maker, Big TV. Heated pool and lots. The meet and greet by Norberta and the guys was really good. Giving you the chance to ask all the questions you might have on arrival at the Villa. There is a bus stop just 30m from the gate which runs about every hours and takes you into Funchall. There is also a local bar just 100meters or so along the road ( which is well used by the locals which is always a good sign in my eyes) The most important question... Would we go back and stay in the villa... 100% YES!!!!!

Idyllic Escape

Very comfortable villa with everything we needed. The management company and owner were very responsive to queries. Lovely views from the villa, located in a residential quiet area with bus routes close by. We’d love to return to this property, highly recommend it.

Alles war wie so schön wie auf der Website abgebildet und beschrieben. Besonders begeistert waren wir von der hochwertigen Bad- und Kücheneinrichtung, den guten Betten / Matratzen, dem Pool und dem hervorragenden Service. Es war der perfekte Standort um mit dem Mietwagen die Insel zu erkunden. Die Restaurantliste haben wir abgearbeitet und können wir nur weiterempfehlen.

Bus stop 50 yards from villa number 22 into town and back €2 each way, last bus back 23 30 villa has everything you need I am bricklayer by trade and the finish on this villa is superb quality all round underfloor heating throughout for air conditioning throughout internet very good wifi 56mb 3 bed 2 bath walk in showers are lovely even have seats in if you need them, laundry room, pool area great table and chairs for outside dining, ratton chairs as well, large barbeque outside sink & cold shower outside toilet, if your looking for villa close to funchal easy access with fantastic views over the harbour this is the one five srars, thank you Norberta

A must stay

A fantastic place, living area was nice, kitchen had everything you needed, bedrooms were really comfy. Outside BBQ was great and swimming pool was lovely. Pub just down the road and used the local bus service which was easy and cheap.

Fantastisch! Nur zu empfehlen!

Wir hatten eine traumhafte Zeit auf Madeira. Die Wohnung liegt oberhalb von Funchal mit super tollem weiten Ausblick. Die Fotos zeigen das Objekt genauso schön wie es ist. Unterhalb des Pools ist noch eine Art kleiner Garten mit Kräutern, die man auch nutzen darf. Die Ausstattung ist top und die Einrichtung sehr geschmackvoll. Zwei große Bäder mit Regendusche und Kommoden. Wir sind herzlichen empfangen worden und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Glorious views, stunning pool and deck area

The property description and pictures are accurate, this is a very impressive property, all newly done, very well equipped, spotlessly clean and with splendid views over Funchal and the ocean. We stayed as up couple, so it was a very generous size for the 2 of us. It might be a bit cramped for 6, if the weather isn't good, there is plenty of outside space, but the lounge and kitchen area would be a squeeze. We had quite a lot of rain, so were sadly forced indoors more than we would have liked. We loved the outside terrace, with the pool and BBQ, as well as the roof top seating with chaise longues. It took us about 40 minutes to walk into the centre of Funchal, but it was extremely steep, so we relied on the bus, (convenient bus stop outside) and taxis. On 2 nights, we walked to very pleasant local restaurants, Rustico and Vasca da Gama and also made use of the BBQ on a couple of evenings. The property is well located for getting out of Funchal too, without going through the city centre, very close (we walked) to Monte, with its beautiful gardens and the cable car and with easy access to the mountains and motorway. We would definitely recommend this property.
