Kate and Ian were very friendly and welcoming . The property is stocked with everything you could need and is very clean. Ian and Kate were both very willing to help if there were any questions. Ian had to show us how the electric Aga worked which was simple once you knew how. They provided us with some lovely fresh eggs from their chickens. Really was a great base for the holiday. The Cross Keys pub which is literally across the road does fantastic food. We went into Bath and Salisbury, had a trip to Weymouth (about 1.5hrs away) but worth the trip and also went to Longleats safari park which was great and only 5 miles away. (Don’t go into the monkey bit if you are worried about them damaging your car, we left minus an aerial ). Overall a great holiday. Darren, Julie, Richard and Mary

What a wonderful place!On reading the last review that was posted not long before we were about to stay at the Old Milking Parlour, I was a tad apprehensive as to what we might find but there was absolutely no need to be .This is a lovely property that is exactly as described. The photos are a true representation and it was an absolute delight to stay here.The owners have done a fabulous job of renovating the Milking Parlour with lovely high quality and tasteful fixtures and fittings.Please, please, please if you are thinking of staying here, ignore the review dated 30th June 2025. I felt devastated on behalf of the owners as it bore no relation to the premises whatsoever. There was a vase of flowers on the table along with half a dozen lovely fresh farm eggs. There was a lovely cosy, welcoming vibe and it was spotless. The sheets were crisp and white and the towels fluffy and plentiful. The beds were lovey and firm and both the showers were really good. The access instructions were clear and easy to follow. The farm itself was spotless and despite us expecting there to be the usual countryside smells, there weren't any at all.It's in a great location just a couple of miles outside Frome. I wholeheartedly recommend The Old Milking Parlour and would definitely stay here again. We absolutely loved it.

Don’t stay here

Called a parlour in the advertising. Actually referred to as a shed when you arrive. The latter description is more accurate. Rooms smaller than photos suggest. Smell of cow patties. Views of concrete walls or broken down farm equipment. Heat an oppressive 26.3 degrees all night. Beds hard and low. Towels small and crunchy.

Lovely accommodation, brilliant hosts

Lovely property, owners welcoming and friendly. Very helpful. Property was nice and quiet which allowed us to have a relaxed holiday. Pub just a 30 second walk away that offered great food. Shared zone was pretty call although the weather didnt allow us to use it as much as we could have done. Would happily stay there again.
