Utterly stunning location, and very friendly, generous host. The amazing gardens, and then walking down to the bay and seeing all the birds. Just heavenly.The house was spotless. Not a speck of dust. We'd all come back in a heartbeat, but I'm not sure I'd bring children. The house was full of fragile knick-knacks and I'd be afraid some might be broken. The bathroom situation is not ideal for kids either. The upstairs loo where the children's bedroom room is was through the other bedroom and fully open to it. The downstairs loo had doors opening on both ends. Otherwise I can't fault the house - it and the location were gorgeous.

A beautiful property and a place of peace and tranquility. Beautiful gardens to explore, lots of interesting adornments throughout the house. Kitchen was well equiped and I especially enjoyed the beautifully decorated Christmas tree for our visit just prior to Christmas Day. Comfortable and warm and a great place to relax. Close to Akaroa. Photos could be updated as we were unable to see the red roof from the road as the gardens have really grown since the photos were taken.

Gracious and comfortable holiday home, full of lovely art and books about art, plus a vinyl and CD collection and wonderful sound system. Exactly the right environment to decompress.

The host was very friendly. The house had a lot of character and had good facilities. The garden was outstanding. It has a steep driveway but we had no problems parking 2 medium sized cars.

We are repeat visitors and just love the house and garden with magical sea views. From the moment of arrival we enjoy peace and relaxation. Such a special place and a wonderful chance to slow down. The house is set up with many creature comforts, this time we had glorious sunny weather but it is no hardship if it rains. Managed to even swim in the sea which is great going for October! Highly recommend

We all had the loveliest time staying in such an amazing home. We will all cherish the memories made while staying in such a well maintained comfortable and clean home. Super comfortable with plenty to entertain yourselves with. Very thoughtful accommodation that is guaranteed to cater to your every need.Loved the cottage gardens that were extensive and exceptional. One of the best couple of days away and would highly recommend. We will definitely be back for hopefully a more extended stay next time. 10 of 10. Thankyou

Just beautiful

What a beautiful peaceful space to reset the home is clean and warm with everything you need. The garden is special and the vibe is surrounded with beautiful possessions I loved all the lamps.

40th Wedding Anniversary

We had a wonderful time once again staying at this property, this is my favorite place. Our party consisted of my 92yr old Father and 88yr old Mother, my husband and I. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary and Mothers Day - both falling on the 11th May. Your home is nice and warm. Love the underfloor heating we certainly didn't feel cold at all. The surroundings are beautiful and we had the best weather, looking out over the bay with the boats bobby around was stunning. My elderly parents were able to move about the downstairs very well, considering both of them have minimal sight. Thank you once again for an awesome time.

Amazing views

Beautiful property and gardens. Lovely big house, clean and warm with incredible views over the harbour. Well equipped for cooking and being entertained. Quiet with comfy beds. Lots in the house to look at. Would love to stay here again and would recommend.

A touch of elegant country heaven

We just loved staying at this amazing property. Everything was supplied and the homeliness of all the extras made it a very memorable stay. The most fabulous, stunning and incredible home!

Every single detail for this property is well thought-out. From the coffee machine in the kitchen, to the piano and guitar in the main lounge, to the help-yourself gardens filled with the most incredible fruits, the view, bath, and meticulous care of the gardens! Danielle was fabulous to communicate with, and I would not hesitate to book this stunning property again.

Fantastic stay

Not our first time here, we love the house and location, a short drive to both Akaroa and Wainui beach. The house is very comfortable and extremely well equipped. A great choice for a relaxing holiday.

Beautiful home and location

After a few sterile, soulless holiday rental experiences our family was so grateful to stay in such a homely character filled space. We appreciated the beautiful garden, and the well equipped high quality kitchen and bathroom. The outdoor dining was fab! Potential guests with young children should be aware that there are a lot more personal ornaments and decor around the house than depicted in the photos. This was fine for our chill 4 yo and non mobile baby but could be quite hard managing a full on toddler in the space. Amazing location, thanks!

This is a spectacular property

It might be in my best interest not to say this (as I would like unfettered access for myself) but this is a spectacular property. The house is spacious and well set up in every way. The grounds around the house are similarly well set up and beautiful in every way (plants, birds, views,…). Communication was great. I give it my highest rating…
