Perfect Beach house rental for our needs/goals!Our trip was "the last hurrah" before our last kid is off to college and we become empty nesters. We let him bring 3 friends. Our visit was everything we hoped! We're well-known to Surfside beach, having rented several different homes over the years. Historically, we stay in front row; this time, I wanted to save some . WOW: this place is so close to the beach, we could've been at this place for all those years!Favorite aspects of this property:- Driftwood dead ends at the boardwalk over the dunes. The street behind has vehicle access. AKA: quiet, private road, no traffic. Would be great for families with little kids.- Great interior floorplan: almost like a Mother-in-law, with the master suite separated, and the 2 other bedrooms in the back that share a bathroom. Nice-sized kitchen. Super cool to have 2 fridges - we dedicated 1 for beverages.- The Porch: the pergola - it's really awesome, impressive to cut the blazing sun's heat as well as it does. And, yay for the gate that kept the dogs from running down without permission.Important to know: fenced yard is a joke - the entrance is far away from the stairs awkward to get to. But bigger: the slats are so wide, our dog ran thru the fence! Really, that's the only bummer we found.Yeah, the kitchen stove was challenged, but there's another burner. Yeah, it's Surfside, it's not luxury. But it's such a great beach and this is a great house! You'll enjoy staying here!
