As boaters, we frequent Treasure Island. This was a miss for us and we will not be staying here again. For positives, the location is great, it's dog friendly, the beds were comfy, we enjoyed fishing off the dock, the evening lights worked fine, and we were able to catch a lot of stone crab (with my own personal trap). The boat slip is useless. There are no cleats anywhere on the dock. There isn't a boat lift. The top portion of the boat dock is not accessible. We were unfortunately hit with 70+mph winds around 6pm, the living room area somewhat flooded from the rain getting in through the low quality side door (I have video), and the house lost power for 15 hours. Neighboring homes also had their windows blown out. We live an hour away, so I decided to pack up our food (to not lose it all) and headed home for the night with my terrified child. My husband and our friend stayed back to try and get our half sunken boat out of the water (again, no boat lift or cleats). There was damage across the island. I contacted the property service the next day and made them aware of the condition of the house. They said many of their properties were damaged and I should have called earlier to see if they could place us at another property. We unfortunately checked out one day early to get the boat to the mechanic shop as soon as possible to assess any damage. I kindly asked for a refund for our final night, but they did not call me back after my initial call to them.
