This was a beautiful and well-equipped home. Communication was easy and the house exceeded all of our expectations. We enjoyed the pool, use of the kitchen and even the little boat! We did find a couple of the beds to be on a bit of the firm side for us, but everyone still got great sleep!

Bob Richard and Carole attended to everything Communication was top notch and every amenity taken care of. Couldn’t ask for more and would come back in a heartbeat. Island is lovely, beaches great, good food, access to boat and van, and people are wonderful. Came with 3 generations of family and was perfect.

Hi. This was a fabulous set-up and a great host. We went into it knowing they would be staying in the house boat next door, which is a bit quirky, but, in the end, turned out to be incredibly helpful. Richard was incredibly responsive (including saving the day on Christmas with a wine delivery!) and communicative. The skiff boat and car are icing on the cake. We also rented the larger boat for the day, which was epic. Well appointed place and really appreciated the hosts.

Very nice owners and house. Spacious home with a lot of rooms. Beautiful outdoor patio and pool. We would’ve enjoyed speakers outside while swimming instead of using our phones. Would recommend a larger coffee pot and new spare room beds for future quests. Very uncomfortable . We did not use the microwave since it took to long to heat up food. Very appreciative of a car to use but we felt a little unsafe. We had a wonderful time with family.

Fisherman's Dream

Wow! What an amazing place. We had a party of 6 and came to fish for the week. It was nice to be able to pull the boat right to the dock and have a workstation there to clean and rinse the day's catch. It was a great location to hit the ocean through the short canal. We didn't have to go far to dive for lobster, conch, and fish for various species. The house is spacious and gives everyone their own little space if needed and makes cooking/grilling nice to have everyone move about and not on top of each other. The private pool is a nice added touch when coming in from the beach/boat. Since most of the party arrived by boat, and I traveled alone Bob and Carole were so nice to arrange for a reliable and trusted taxi driver to pick me up at the airport to meet up with the rest of the guests. I HIGHLY recommend Hayward with Grand Bahama Taxi & Tours to get you to your destinations if you choose not to use the van or need a ride to and from the airport. Bob and Carole were amazing with communication and gave a list of recommendations of things to do or where to eat. We only ate out once as we took full advantage of the kitchen/grill but the LaRoc was delicious food/drinks and a cool little vibe. My husband surprised me with a "swim with the pigs" excursion which wasn't too far from the location of the house. It was nice to be able to pull up on the boat and walk onto shore have a drink and feed/swim with the pigs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back!

This property was fantastic! We used the mini van and boat that came with the property and would definitely stay here again! It was beautiful, centrally located and easy to access! We absolutely loved this vacation, start to finish!

Very Relaxing Stay

We stayed here after getting married in Nassau. It was very relaxing. The pool is a wonderful touch. The house itself is lovely and very comfortable. The location was great as well. The hosts are very accommodating and responsive. While they do stay nearby I felt like we had a lot of privacy. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Great Location and amenities (car and small boat)

We had a party of 8 so we used 4 bedrooms during our stay. There were pros and cons but the pros definitely out weighed the cons. Pros: The house is beautiful and spacious and the location is great. The proximity to the beach is great, especially if you use the little boat to go to the beach via the canal. Having access to a vehicle that would hold 8 passengers was a game changer and we were able to use it to travel out for dinner and/or shopping each day. Great communication from host who also helped with arranging pickup from the airport. Overall, I would return to this VRBO. Cons: We were not aware that the air conditioner would not be allowed below 74 degrees. While not a big deal for some, it was a big deal for us as many of us get hot. It was an additional $25 per day to get it lowered to 72 degrees and $50 a day to get it lowered to 70 degrees. We paid the extra $50 a day. The master suite off of the kitchen still was hot at night; we think that room is just normally the hottest room in the house. Also, the 2 queen sized bedrooms both reported that their beds made quite a lot of noise when they moved on them so it would wake them at night frequently. I sat on one of them and it was so loud. I would not have been able to get a good night sleep on a bed that noisy. The last con is that it was a bit weird having the hosts staying on site as they stay in a boat docked behind the house. We did feel a bit like we were being watched over, especially when we were outside.

Family Getaway

We took all of our Teen to Twenties children and their friends for a Bahamas getaway. The house was wonderful and plenty roomy for 10 of us. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with great boat access. A skiff and kayaks are available for use if you don’t have your own boat. The owners and their son were very responsive to our needs and questions. Their proximity (on a boat next door) was great for us as they even helped us fix our boat. They were not intrusive at all and it seemed that we only saw them when we needed them. Bob, Carol and Richard are great hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

All inclusive home

Check in was easy. Owners arranged taxi pick up at the airport for all 9 of us. The home is beautiful and accommodated the 9 of us easily. They kept the pool clean and are easily available for questions. The house comes with a mini van that seats 9 (very convenient for getting around the island), and a small boat that seats four. Kayaks are also available. We loved the entire experience.

Beautiful Home AND Amazing hospitality

The Eddington’s met us at the front door - one of the easiest check-in’s we’ve experienced. They stayed on the house boat on the canal which Was a PLUS in our eyes. Always available to answer questions and lead us in the right direction - whether general questions about the house, Freeport, and their life on the island. Richard, their son, was phenomenal in every way! Having a boat and car was a tremendous help in navigating and exploring. Would we come back again? ABSOLUTELY!

Absolutely Amazing Week in Paradise

This was one of the best vacations we've ever had. The house (and the hosts) were perfect. The house has everything you need and the pool is lovely (and plenty of space for a large family). We took our boat over from Florida and it had issues upon arriving. Bob and his family went above and beyond and supported us with finding/fixing the issues. It would have been a nightmare if we didn't have them. We will be back soon.. Cheers!

A Wonderful Week

As a group of five adults and two teens, we could not have found a better home for our first trip to the Bahamas. Each morning began by the pool overlooking the canal and each evening ended either in the pool or on a lounge chair stargazing or both. The neighborhood is very quiet and calm, but is close enough to many services and attractions: the grocery store is less than ten minutes away by car; Tiano Beach is a bit over ten; Banana Bay is a bit over fifteen, and Paradise Cover is about thirty. As a former British colony, driving is on the left and the wheel is on the right. For someone used to the opposite, it was a blast! The home owners were not only beyond helpful with suggestions and advice, they are very enjoyable people. Each question or concern was handled with speed and ease. This also holds true for many of the Bahamian people we met. Even complete strangers went out of the way to help us during the Goombay festival. I truly can't wait to return to Freeport and this home.

Best Vacation Ever

Choosing Freeport and not knowing quite what to expect following hurricane Dorian 2 years ago and the Covid lockdown was a real concern. But I can tell you without a doubt Freeport seemed almost totally back to normal. Our stay at this property was absolutely splendid. Bob and Carol, the hosts, made our trip exceed our expectations as they were so very helpful in many ways, especially in deciding on places to visit and dine out. The home is beautiful and was perfect in every way meeting our needs. You will love it!

Perfect for a Bahamas Fishing Trip

We rented the home with a group of 14 friends (mostly couples) for a fishing trip (arriving by boat). The house amenities were great and the location was perfect to fit our needs. Plenty of space to park our boats. We really enjoyed the pool and the large living spaces.
