Beautiful, comfortable and well equipped home.

This is a very spacious, clean, well equipped home on a quiet street with a beautiful view. Bed and main couch was comfortable, there were ample towels & electrical outlets and the water pressure in the master shower was very strong. There were so many lovely features and appointments that it truly felt like we were welcome guests in someone’s home. In fact it’s hard to believe they’ve been renting it out for so many years and kept everything in such lovely condition. Only downside was they left a note saying to enjoy a pizza on us but there was no pizza. A very small issue; still very deserving of a 5 star review.

Whidbey House

First, the location was amazing. Views of the sound and Olympic Mountains amazing. Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Now to HUGE issue - Cleanliness. Discovered at end of stay the front load washer seal completely covered with MOLD. Not just a little. This is machine used to wash the linens and towels you use. Could not in good conscience wash a load of towels as suggested in house instructions. Dryer filter totally filled with lint. Looked like never cleaned out. Almost all pots and pans should be thrown away. Some were disgusting. Spice drawer had so much spilled spices in each section. Lot of left over food and items in cabinets. A bottle of honey had a tiny bit in the bottom. It had already turned to sugar. One jar with some kind of syrup only tiny bit left. Bottle was so sticky on the outside it was stuck to the shelf. Have never been to a VRBO home with shelves full of partially used items. Syrups, oils, cereal, etc. Some with just a tiny bit of product left. All shelves and drawers dirty on the inside. Drawer with forks, etc had a paper towel put under each utensil section. Towel was dirty. Bedding - as instructed removed bedding. When we took off the cover on the comforter - brown stains on the comforter. Issue with some blinds not being able to be lowered. Even with perfect location of house, would never have stayed had we seen how dirty so much was. Wish I could attach pictures of these things with this review. Management needs to get house professionally cleaned.

Nice vacation stay

As other reviewers have mentioned, this a lovely and relaxing oasis. The home matched the listing description and photos. We loved walking to the rocky beach with our kids and exploring the neighboring towns as well. Our only issue was how hot the home was when we arrived. It was unseasonably warm, the air conditioning did not work, and many of the windows are unable to be opened. It was stifling, to the point that despite traveling all day we had to leave the house after unpacking and dine out. At night it cooled down pleasantly and we aired it out for the remainder of the visit and closed the blinds during the afternoon sun. It would have been nice to have a fan for each bedroom- there were only two small ones and we had a group of seven people. Other than the uncomfortable first day/night, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing seaside week

We came to the island to babysit grandkids. Brought extended family so cousins could play together. Two sets of bunk beds was a must and three beds accommodating three couples was perfect for us. The wasps were an issue on the deck but maintenance man, Gary, came on a Sunday to spray which helped a lot. We were impressed. Kitchen had everything we needed. Haze was disappointing but still enjoyed the ship and boat traffic. A few small maintenance things should be addressed like carpet needed to be stretched downstairs but we would stay there again.

Tranquility on Whidbey Island

We loved our stay in this beautiful house. Quiet neighborhood, spectacular views, easy beach access and a lovely home to boot. We needed a get away from work and stress and this was the perfect place to find that. Great house for taller people - not always easy to find.

Beautiful views from inside and outside!

A group of 5 friends stayed here for 2 nights. We had lots of space to sleep. The great room/kitchen/deck area was open and bright allowing gorgeous sound views! We had an eagle fly right past the deck low and slow, amazing! We also saw a heron, seals and ships (cruise and cargo) and boats. We took a walk along the beach and watched the sunsets. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Wonderful home!

Such a beautiful, spacious, gorgeously decorated home with amazing views! My family completely enjoyed their stay and were very comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped with some newer appliances. Beds were really comfortable. Home is furnished with beautiful antiques. Home is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood. Definitely consider this home for your Whidbey Island vacation!

Unforgettable Wedding Weekend!

Magical Blue was incredible! Everything about the house and its location were 100% accurate. We were on Whidbey Island for our sons's wedding in Freeland. This was a perfect house and proximity to the venue. The host was very accommodating and quick to respond to any question I had. The house had lots of space and the views were stunning! Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay here celebrating our father's 90th and my son's 20th birthdays. The location was perfect (quiet but close to services), the house was clean and there was lots of room to spread out upstairs & downstairs, but what really stands out is the incredible view from the deck. We spent a lot of time enjoying the view of the water and the Olympic Peninsula. The management company was responsive and the check in/out process was easy & efficient. We didn't want to leave!

Family vacation

I took a chance on this rental because the location looked good and my children were familiar with the area. I thought the description of the room layouts was vague but went ahead and rented. I was disappointed that the house did not have easy access to the beach. Description inferred that the beach was right there … Yes it was a short walk but it didn’t allow the children to play at the beach without adults going with them. The layout of the beds was confusing on the VRBO site. Many times a VRBO rental will show floor plans but this one just listed the beds and didn’t say if they were upstairs or down. The layout ended up being fine but it put the senior citizen in the queen bedroom going up and down the stairs. House was well appointed and Whidby island is wonderful. We left quite fast and hope we did everything necessary to check out. WE DID ENJOY OUR STAY. oh the blinds in living room / kitchen need repaired. It helped to have them closed in the heat of the afternoon but some windows didn’t have blinds and some didn’t work completely.

Loved the view, location and size of house but had a couple of problems

We loved the quiet neighborhood, the access to the beach, the view, the deck, and the size of the house. The kitchen had the basics we needed and we enjoyed the open floor plan. Our problem occurred when we got ready for bed and found that we had 4 towels for a group of 7 women and there was no accessible backup supply of towels despite making the reservation for 8 guests. The rental company was quick to respond the next morning and provided more towels. Two other slight issues - the jets in the master bathtub don't seem to work, and the description of the beds does not specify that one is a Murphy bed so that was confusing.

Great view, could use a little updating

+ Fantastic view + Conveniently located; a short drive to everything in South Whidbey + Short walk to the beach + Spacious- plenty of room to spread out + Extra fridge in the garage for drinks - Nearby beach is great for strolling & exploring, but it's mostly rocky (bring shoes)... if you're looking for a classic "beach day" you'll probably want to drive elsewhere - The furniture & appliances, although well-cared-for, are dated. You can tell this was a top-of-the-line house 30 years ago, and although it's well-loved, some things are showing their age - If you're not careful, the dishwasher backs up into the sink. Might be a septic capacity issue; there are signs warning. We had to be careful about when we turned on the dishwasher. - Kids' bunk beds are very creaky, which made it hard for the kids (and thus, the parents) to sleep Overall this is a nice house in a gorgeous location. We had a great trip, but there were enough small annoyances that we had to knock off a star.
