  • One of five charming cabins set just 4 miles from the center of downtown Fredericksburg, you and a guest will love the ability to relax in the scenic Texas Hill Country and then take a short drive to town. Enjoy a king bed, walk-in shower, kitchenette with full sized refrigerator, and pleasant private deck featuring a hot tub and grill all to yourself. In addition, Live Oak Creek is just off of your doorstep, so a day could easily be spent fishing, paddle boating, or swimming. There is also a bar at the entrance to the property.

    *plus 13% tax

    The home is pet friendly and does not have a limit on the number of dogs that you can bring. However, there is a pet fee of $38/dog/night (before tax). Due to the fact that HomeAway/VRBO does not allow us to charge for more than one dog at the time of booking, please let us know if you will be bringing more than one dog, so that we can make sure that you are charged the correct amount. If you bring more than one dog and do not let us know, you will be charged accordingly. Furthermore, please bring crates for your dogs and crate them in your absence from the house, do not allow the dogs on furniture or beds, and pick up and properly dispose of their waste. If these rules are not followed, there will be an additional $200 charge added to your reservation.

    Please keep in mind that, since there are four other cabins on the property, they may be occupied by other guests during your stay. Furthermore, there are RV hookups, so other guests might be utilizing those as well.

    Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will be visible.

Weekend getaway

Great location and space. Perfect for my wife and I for a weekend getaway. The cabin was clean and cozy and the hot tub was a great way to relax each night. Highly recommend and we will definitely stay there again.

Great getaway!!!

We celebrated our 16th anniversary and this was the perfect spot for us. It was the perfect and much needed getaway from the city. Enjoyed seeing the goats and deer on the property.

Unplugged

Great getaway with proximity to Main St. in Fredericksburg being a few minutes away. Quiet at night and plenty of calm wildlife to take in made this a weekend to relax and rest up. Will definitely return.

Enjoyable Per Friendly Country Cabin

Very relaxing stay in clean conveniently located cabin. Wonderful back porch to sit on and watch the herd of shhp move about with deer and other wildlife. Our dog loved it. Kitchen could have been better stocked. Salt and pepper?

We enjoyed our stay so much! Everything was so clean and nice and the bed was super comfy. Also it was helpful that it was a short drive to town but yet off on its own. We enjoyed watching the deer and the hot tub from the back porch. The door key box was a wonderful and easy way to get house keys and then to leave them when the stay was over. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay around Fredricksburg!! Thank you, Alice Hoban

Hidden Gem!

This was a quick 2-day couples get-away during spring break and I just happened upon this cute cabin on VRBO last minute. But we ended up finding a hidden gem in the hill country! The cabin is adorable -- all pine and so well laid out. It had everything we needed and the hot tub was a great bonus! Checking in was super easy and the host even had music on for us on arrival! It was so quiet and peaceful there and you could see tons of stars! My husband did some catch/release fishing in the morning and it was very relaxing for him. All in all an excellent stay and we will be back again to visit our hidden gem!

Nice cabin just down the way from Fredericksburg

Cabin was very cute and cozy. Loved the nature and back porch with a jacuzzi however the kitchen was described as well equipped and that was not the case. There was no stove, oven, or any cooking supplies. There was only an electric griddle and electric outdoor grill. Be sure to plan accordingly.

Perfect Getaway from the City

To celebrate my wife's 32nd birthday, we decided to venture out of the city rather then being stuck at home during this pandemic. It was so worth it! Even though we didn't visit any wineries or tour Fredricksburg due to COVID, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the cabin - from the jacuzzi to seeing the sheep roam to visiting the restaurant on site for an order of apple pie fries, we had such a great time! We also decided to rent bikes and rode up and down Loudon Road which is the street ahead of the cabin. Overall, so worth it!

Christmas Stay at Live Oak Creek Cabins 2019

Overall, the cabin was bigger than we anticipated. Everything worked good (TV, heat, appliances and hot water). We did note that the jets on the hot tub did not work that well. We cleaned debris from the filter but it did not help much. As we were settling in, we did find a pair of men's briefs in a drawer. However, we did ensure we left the cabin cleaner than we found it. The rental staff were outstanding with the reservation and check-in process. We will definitely recommend this to others and stay again ourselves.

Wonderful stay!

What a wonderful stay at the cabins! We did venture downtown for a bit and it was only a 10 minute drive away, which isn't bad at all. The food downtown isn't the best so you will probably want to cook at the cabins as much as possible. I loved how private and peaceful the cabins are and the creek on the property is great!! The cabin is a great size for a couple who just wants to get away from the city and relax out back on the patio (what we did for hours on end). Make sure to bring seasonings and maybe some other cooking supplies with you to make things more convenient if you plan on grilling/cooking (aluminum pans/tin foil for the grill). They do have a restaurant on the property but unfortunately it was closed the two nights we were there (Monday and Tuesday). We will be back, hopefully multiple times!

The stay wasn’t bad but over priced for the conditions it was in.

The BBQ grill didn’t work. Some blinds were broken. There was no alarm clock. It just seemed for the price I paid, it would have been upkept better.

Dean's Cabin

This is our fifth time staying in Deans Cabin. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the cabin this trip. There was a dirty diaper under the couch that we found when we arrived. I don't know why a previous guest would put that there, but I would expect the cleaning people to check everything out when they are cleaning the cabin. If this was missed, what other corners were cut cleaning the cabin? I would definitely think twice about staying here again and be prepared to spray everything down with Lysol to make sure it's really clean.

Not a countryside home

Gasthaus Schmidt did an excellent job answering all of my questions and I did call a few times. Although the cabin was cute and clean, it was not a country side location as it was right off 290 and I could hear the highway traffic at night. There was also a closed-down bar located at the entrance and it had lots of trash and old tables outside. It didn't make me feel like I was about to have a relaxing time in the country. The hot tub was nice but the privacy curtain had large holes in it from the weather and/or animals. I couldn't believe that the owner didn't replace that before we came. That was very disaapointming.

Great little getaway!

My wife and I were looking for a short quiet getaway and found this Cabin and loved it! It was super quiet and the view of the stars at night was incredible. Hot tub was nice, clean, and hot. The property has sheep and deer wondering around which was pretty cool!! I wish they had wifi, but we got by just fine!

Absolutely amazing!

This is worth the travel. We were late checking in but the host was so accommodating. Stayed on the phone until we found our way. Cabin is clean and so relaxing. The host has clearly thought of everything. This deserves another visit! Thank you!
