We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Happy Trails Log Cabin to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary, and we couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to mark this special occasion! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm of this Roy Rogers-themed cabin. It beautifully blends an old-world, nostalgic feel with modern comforts, creating the ideal retreat for both relaxation and a bit of nostalgia.The surrounding property was equally magical—peaceful, serene, and teeming with life. The donkeys, longhorns, and horses brought such character to our experience, and we couldn’t get enough of the quiet, natural beauty. Evenings spent stargazing under the expansive Texas sky were some of the most memorable moments of our stay, offering a rare sense of tranquility and connection to nature.What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts, Mr. Tom and Miss Kay. Their thoughtful touches—delicious baked treats, fresh fruit, and delightful conversation—made us feel so welcome and cared for. This was exactly what we were looking for. Slightly outside of Fredericksburg, but close enough to visit. The cabin was very clean and inviting. The cabin felt warm and comfortable as soon as we walked in. Our host was very kind and helpful. The welcome plate of fruit and cookies was an extra thoughtful touch of kindness. Highly recommend.

A little piece of heaven

If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing , picturesque Cabin on a farm, look no further. My husband and I just spent Memorial Day weekend at this cabin and we had a phenomenal time. Waking up to longhorn and donkeys in the pasture and horses roaming the property was such a wonderful experience.The homemade chocolate chip cookies, apple turnovers, muffins , and fruit was a very special treat. The property owners are a delight! You won’t be disappointed! 10 Star rating ! We’ll definitely return .

Lovely, romantic getaway

It was such a cute, rustic cabin. It had everything we needed. It was so comfy, warm and clean. I loved all the western decor. Also the donkeys were super cute. It was relaxing to be able to lounge on the sofa with the fireplace going. The homemade chocolate chip cookies, yummy goodies and beverages in the fridge were a very nice and pleasantly unexpected touch. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. The only mishap that occurred was on arrival we had some tech/gos issues. The cell signal/service(no one’s fault) was weak. So we got lost. So a little tip-get screenshots/directions before heading over. We will most definitely be back and have recommended friends as well.

Peaceful retreat

My enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here! The cabin is beautifully decorated and has so many luxurious details. We were delighted by the breakfast pastries and other items to enjoy. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from the porch and viewing stars at night. We will be back!

Romantic Getaway

This is our 2nd time to stay at Happy Trails and was just as great as the 1st stay. The cabin is absolutely outstanding and the scenery and sunsets are amazing. The owners do a great job of making you feel welcome by leaving homemade pastries, fresh fruit and a little welcome note. I highly recommend to stay at Happy Trails cabin.

A Must Stay!!

We were going to stay only 5 nights, but once we arrived we extended our stay to 8 days. Perfect setting to relax and unwind. Great accommodations and the bed is awesome! From the homemade baked goods to the beautiful sunsets, this is one place you must visit!

This is a quaint little cabin with a lot of charm. Perfect setting for peaceful getaway. Trees. Pretty scenery. Very comfy and cozy. Close to downtown. The decor is fabulous. Enjoyed our stay so much didn’t want to leave.

Welcoming

We had a lovely stay at Happy Trails Log Cabin. Kay paid us a friendly and welcoming visit early on and got us acquainted with the Hill Country property. Later we visited with majestic longhorns, donkeys and horses. Hummingbirds buzzing by the front porch were my favorite. The cabin was perfect for an intimate weekend. Although old and rustic in appearance, this small cabin was comfortable. A thoughtful note, cookies, fresh fruits, cold drinks made us feel welcome. Location was ideal for a hike at Enchanted Rock, while close to wine tasting at Fredericksburg. We definitely recommend a stay at Happy Trails Log Cabin.

Just AWESOME! and cannot wait to come back!

I just love old cabin's and when I found this gem in Fredericksburg for the wife and I to get away for a few days.... WOW just doesn't do it justice. Fredericksburg itself is a great hill country area to visit. Finding this old cabin outside of town for some extra peace and quiet was a super bonus! We spent the early morning sitting out on the porch watching the animals and admiring how peaceful it was ooooh and did it again upon our evening return from town. I brought some zero gravity chairs which we sat out to gaze at the stars in the night evenings. On top of this, we also got the pleasure of meeting Kay and Tom (owners of the property) who were SUPER nice and gave of some local places to go (which we did). We are already planning another trip and will for sure book the cabin again!!!! Thx again Tom and Kay, see you soon!!

Mystery Trip

My husband surprised me with a trip in which I had no idea where we were going. We arrived at the cabin and I was delighted. It was like stepping back in time but with today’s amenities. There were delicious pastries in the kitchen with a stocked little refrigerator. I wish there would have been a toaster but we adjusted with the microwave. The bedroom was a dream. My husband and I had the best sleep we had had in a long time. And then waking up in the morning and going to the front porch to drink coffee while looking at the cows, donkeys and deer was magical. We absolutely loved it.
