Amazing host at home away from home
I work at a summer camp in the area, so this was an ideal place to stay for two weeks due to its central location to my camp. Driving in, there are beautiful views with deer everywhere. The cabin is located directly behind the owner's house, but I didn't see them until the end of my stay. The house is spacious, and I felt at home. The kitchen has everything you may need or want. We asked to stay an extra night and even with someone coming the next day, we were quickly accommodated. We woke to news of flooding on July 4, 2025, but with the house a few minutes drive to the river, no flood waters entered the neighborhood (& this home is toward the back of the neighborhood). The owner called us to tell us the highway was closed & allowed us to stay until we were able to safely leave. She asked if we had any food & my husband let her know that we had packed it but shared we had snacks & we'd be okay. A little while later, she brought us groceries from her own home to ensure we would be able to make breakfast, lunch, & dinner. We were so grateful for her care & hospitality and will definitely be back. Not only is this is a great place to stay, but Carolyn is an incredibly kind and accommodating host. Thank you, Carolyn!
