DarkSkies Hideaway an experience you will remember

  • Welcome to Dark Skies Hideaway! An adorable guest house with amazing views! Take it easy in a unique and tranquil getaway. Not just a place to lay your head but an experience for all that enter. Enjoy the amazing sunrises and sunsets in a peaceful setting as you sit on your front porch. Lie in bed and look at the stars through the sky lights overhead. The dark skies allow you to see the milky way in all it's glory! This is paradise in the making!
    The space
    This is a studio home with a bedroom area, well equipped kitchen, pantry and closet area, a sitting area with TV and electric fireplace. There is a spa and outdoor shower that is shared with the owners of the home. They are next to the main house but there is a privacy fence up. We will respect your privacy, all you have to do is ask, a BBQ will be available for your use as well at your cottage.
    Guest access
    You will have access to the cottage, the spa and out door shower. You are always welcome to join us on the main house porch if we are sitting outside enjoying the beautiful scenery. You have your own parking area as well.

The rental was absolutely stunning—far more beautiful in person than the photos could ever capture. It offered such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect getaway. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. It’s about a 20-minute drive into town, but the scenic views along the way made every trip worthwhile. We even got to see quite a bit of wildlife, which was a special touch. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a serene and memorable stay.

Beautiful property with big views. Looking out the window feels like looking at a painting. The hosts were communicative without being intrusive. We loved being a bit further out from the crowds in Fredericksburg, and still having access to everything. The little house itself was very clean, and everything worked well.

Peaceful Getaway

Wanted a quiet place to stay for the July 4th weekend and this place was perfect! Loved seeing all the deer, rabbit, cows and birds. The space was perfect for my husband and I and the sunsets spectacular!

The area was absolutely beautiful!! It’s only about 20 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg so it was perfect! We woke up on our last morning to the cows in the front yard and it was such a beautiful way to end our stay!! Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Oh my gosh!!! This place was BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING! I’m so glad we booked this place! Check in and check out was easy and painless, communication was perfect, and the hosts were so hospitable and we enjoyed meeting them. I HIGHLY recommend staying here and if get a chance to love on their sweet pup you should do that as well. We hope to stay here again.

Beautiful and Relaxing

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The quiet location with the beautiful scenery and stars. We also were able to watch storms in the distance. Perfect escape for our anniversary.

Excellent Getaway Spot

We had an awesome time spending a couple nights at this place. It's about 25min from Fredericksburg, but worth staying at for the space and views. I do recommend looking ahead on how to get there.

Amazing. Will stay again!

This place was amazing. It had everything you needed. The shower was amazing. The views from the windows was beautiful. We will stay here every time we come back to Fredericksburg, it was just that good.

The skylight above the bed is absolutely amazing!! Vickie and Don are very gracious host. They gave us privacy as we enjoyed the hot tub. Very clean home. Plenty of towels and a comfy bed. No complaints from us. We definitely want to return.

Beautiful little house!

It was perfect highly recommended it to anyone that will visit fredericksburg its only a 15 minute drive to the town . At night beautiful star view . we had a amazing time here and already planing a second trip here highly recommend it ..

This was HEAVEN!!!We were looking for a place to relax and this exceeded our expectations. The sunrises/sets were beautiful and seeing deer every morning and evening was very special. The sky at night was breath taking. Peace and quiet abounds. The accommodations were clean, modern and everything we needed( and more) was supplied. The hosts were very friendly but not intrusive and really seemed to care that we were taken care of. If you're looking for a place away from the hustle of every day life this is the place. We will be back.

Hills and stars

This property is very luxurious and the owners did not miss a single detail! Deep in Hill country with nothing but peace and quiet. The stars and hot tub were everything we needed it to be! Can’t wait to go back!

Weekend getaway

The listing was very accurate is describing the area. Lots of wildlife. Beautiful home. Host answered any questions we had in a timely manner. Would stay here again!
