We had such a great experience!!!! Such a fun place to stay! Comfortable beds and great location!! If you need white noise- do bring it. There aren’t any fans for white noise, and weather was great so air never needed to kick on. Would stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at this house. It was the perfect size, had everything we needed, and was in a great location! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone (especially if you have pets)! Check-in and out was super simple and the hosts were always accessible! Great weekend getaway!

Cute cozy cottage. Excellent location for restaurants and bars. Walkable distance from Oktoberfest. Fenced backyard was very nice and convenient.

Wonderful little house so close to Main Street! Loved the log cabin charm. Very dog friendly too! Would have liked a little better explanation of the different residences as we bothered the nite people for a key bc didn't recognize the suite names.

pleasant and atmospheric

"Maria" had more than enough space for up to 4 people. The decor was terrific- very authentic. The AC, in contrast, was modern- absolutely silent, a real pleasure. It's located on a quiet road, but still close enough to the main drag that its quite walkable.

The light switch in bedroom next to bathroom not working and the sink next to microwave has a large crack in it ...other than that everything was perfect..great place to stay !!!!!!!!! We will stay there again........ thank you

Could have been better

The B&B is very rustic which we expected. However, the toilet did not flush very well, bathroom had roaches and the tub was not cleaned very well. Although the location was nice we would have expected more for the price

I LOVED IT

The place was great! So, cute and so much old-world charm. I only have a couple of complaints. Firstly, the tub is kind of dangerous for your older, not so thin, customers. Not everyone likes taking a bath and prefer a shower. The shower head barely reached my head to rinse my hair, so I sat down to rinse my hair, and then had a really hard time getting back up safely. Secondly, when I went to use some of the dishes, specifically a plate and cup, they had dust on them as if they'd not been cleaned in a while, let alone for each different guest. But I'd still certainly return again, because the good far outweighed the bad. Marilyn

I traveled during the week and had the compound to myself. The property has mature trees and there was always a light breeze present. My pup enjoyed the flagstone courtyard and I enjoyed the little details of the property

The place was nice and the bed was comfortable. We had an issue with the front door lock not working but it was quickly handled by Jon. The place is rustic so if that is not what you prefer this may not be the place for you

Cute, rustic cottage but kind of awkward. Front entrance is directly into bedroom. Bathtub is difficult to get into - no shower. Living area is very small. Place looks bigger in the pictures. Unable to raise window shade or turn on ceiling lights in one bedroom. The only storage area in the same bedroom is used for cleaning items. Beds were very comfortable and decor is quaint. We had great weather so sitting on the back patio was pleasant but could have used an umbrella.

When we arrived at Austin Street Retreat Maria, it was about 5:30pm. We had spent several hours enjoying the Nimitz Museum and were looking forward to relaxing before going out to dinner. That did not happen because we opened the door to see two unmade beds and dirty dishes by the sink. After I called about the situation, two people came to clean, which meant we had no opportunity to relax and had less time to enjoy the the cottage we had paid for. So we went straight to dinner while they were still cleaning. I was hoping to be comped for the lost time and inconvenience, but that didn't happen. The next day, we physically returned the keys to the same woman who had come to clean the previous evening. We were 15 minutes late in returning the key (because we had to wait longer for the breakfast order than expected). It never occurred to me that we would be charged for a late key return because it was just a few minutes late and also because we had been disappointed and inconvenienced by the dirty condition of the property. The late charge (only $5) was the final straw for me, so I spoke to someone at the office explaining very nicely that I was hoping to have at least the late key charge refunded. That person transferred me to the business manager whose voice mail I got. I explained again the situation. I waited a full week, and nothing happened. So I called again, explained the situation again, and was told that the manager would get my message. Another week has passed, and no one has had the professional courtesy to return my calls. I'm writing this review to express my disappointment in poor customer service and lack of professionalism.

Charming

The place was charming. It was unique. My only concern was the tub. Being 60+, it was challenging for me and also my friends to get in and out of. The terrace was lovely.
