Very Close to Downtown and UMW
The property's proximity to UMW was great for our daughter's graduation. However, there were a few inconveniences. The check-in process was simple but required multiple codes, and using a physical key was unexpected. This makes it hard for people to come and go, as someone has to stay home since there’s only one key.
The listing did not explicitly mention the number of stairs or the location of the bathrooms. If you have issues walking a lot of stairs, there are three flights to the bedrooms, and the bathrooms are on the first and third levels. So, a lot of up and down.
The property lacked some amenities, such as an adequate supply of eating utensils, coffee cups, etc., and temperature control was an issue. Also, it lists an iron/board. There isn't a board, so you need to iron on the washer, which is difficult since we were there for a graduation and we needed to iron a lot of clothes.
The Nest has a preprogrammed heat/air option, and while it was set to 67, the temperature never went below 75. So, just to be aware, it’s warm in the house.
On the positive side, the owner was responsive and helpful. They answered all my questions very quickly and were very welcoming and considerate. Overall, the location was convenient, with nearby amenities and easy access to attractions.
