We wanted a getaway for New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. We chose this location with hopes of seclusion, but close enough to have dinner options, too. This property did not disappoint. This hidden gem is located on a beautiful, sprawling 25 acre horse farm. Something that I WAS concerned about was the owner living on the farm, and was it actually secluded. Well, let me start by saying the owner isn't right beside the spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath but rather across the "HOLLER". At other rentals we have been side-by-side or an attached but separate living quarters, this is not the case here. I will add that the rental is butted up to a generous tree line that gives the feel of being in a forest. You feel completely remote/secluded, but close enough to someone should something go wrong.
Bill, the owner, stopped by and shared his favorite eateries, hiking spots, and must see places in the area. Let me add, there are many options to eat local places just a short drive, 20 minutes to The Highlands, and so many beautiful hiking spots just a stone's throw away.
Funny side note, my partner had written down an order at a local Thai restaurant and asked I call it in. He said call the number above the order. It was Bill's number, the owner, and here I was calling him trying to place a togo order. LOL He laughed and let us know we had called him rather than the restaurant, which he suggested earlier when he stopped by. He was a good sport about and and we all laughed it off.
If you are considering a stay in Franklin, NC, or an area nearby(such as The Highlands, Cashiers, etc, THIS IS THE PLACE you want to stay.
We want to return in the spring or summer and ride the horses.
One last thing, Bill suggested a place to hike that was just minutes away and it was absolutely one of the best trails we've ever had to pleasure to enjoy.
