Awesome property with everything we needed. Kitchen, multiple showers, lots of beds and room options, even a desk for remote work. The kayaks were fun to use and the fire ring was perfect. We also loved the laundry.

Over the years we've learned to anticipate some aspect of our rental to be disappointing - not this year! The Maine Loon House was everything we've been looking for. If anything, the pictures didn't do the house justice. From the photos I expected the kitchen and living space to be separate, but it was a beautiful open area where all of us could comfortably congregate. The kitchen was clean, organized and well equipped which is important to us since we prepare all our meals. I thought we might enjoy the air hockey and ping pong, but we honestly played for hours. Between that, the fire ring and kayaks there was more than enough entertainment to keep us busy. This is the first time in twelve years all four of us agreed we'd love to come back!

What an incredible week, the photos do not do this beautiful and serene home justice. From the moment we arrived we loved the house which is in the perfect setting for a Maine vacation. Hearing the loons call and watching them was a highlight. We also had daily eagle and duck sightings. We enjoyed seeing and hearing owls the last night we were here. Our family truly enjoyed the kayaks, pedal boat and our boys loved swimming in the lake. Campfires, s’mores and corn hole were so fun! Our boys were surprised at how well their grandparents can play air hockey. Haha. We walked down the road to the ripening blueberry fields. Amazing. We also enjoyed day trips into Acadia NP, the Indian Head Blagden Reserve (saw seals bottling here) and Tidal Falls (seals bottling and starfish!). We were lucky enough to get a reservation for Cadillac Mountain sunrise and WOW, what an experience we will all remember forever. We went off to the left where there weren’t as many people and enjoyed an unobstructed view. The stuffed blueberry French toast at Jeannie’s Great Maine Breakfast in Bar Harbor was fantastic. Also highly recommend Pat’s Pizza and Morton’s Moo (homemade ice cream). Yum. The Lobster Rolls in Bar Harbor were delicious. A true Maine experience. Our legs are tired but our hearts are full and we will always be dreaming of coming back.

Beautiful home on a beautiful property with everything you need! Book now! I promise you won’t regret it! We were greeted with a bald eagle swooping in to the nearby trees, the loons on the lake that have the most amazing call, large snapping turtle chilling by the dock, mother duck and her babies, and baby barred owls that that made themselves known on our last day. It was a perfect home base when exploring Mount Desert Island, Schoodic Peninsula (highly recommend), Bar Harbor & the nearby town, Ellsworth.

Relaxation at its finest

This place was in a very nice relaxing setting. It was in proximity of many places to hike and experience the relaxation of Maine and MDI. House was clean and in a nice quiet and relaxing location. Would highly recommend staying here.

Secluded beauty

This home is secluded,. If you're looking for conveniences in proximity, this location isn't for you. Closest town with stores and restaurants is Ellsworth, about 24 miles away. Bar Harbor and Acadia, 40 minutes away. However, the home is light and airy, clean and has plenty to do there. There's a game room and kayaks for the pond, which is right in the back yard and beautiful! My husband and I stayed a week and split our time between Bar Harbor and Acadia, and just staying at the house. We loved it and hope to go back again!

Excellent Getaway with everything you need!

The Loon house was an excellent getaway and an excellent vacation. We had everything we needed! Beautiful, huge pond filled with fish, a peddle boat, several kayaks, a great walkoff dock. The swimming was great. The water temp in July was fantastic! Pristine area. Very quiet but only 45 mins from Bar Harbor and about 50 mins from Bangor. Ideal for our family!

Perfect Family Getaway

Wonderful property out of the way of the main hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Travel to mainstays are within 45-55 minutes. Loved the pond - plenty of time kaiaking and hanging with the ducks in the area. No shortage of memories to be made here - cannot recommend enough!

Needed less of Lee

Property, neat, had everything you could possibly need, just as advertised. Heard Loons at nite, pond is peaceful and pretty. If you want to cook Lob stah-well you in right place! Perfect pot, many different “shell crackers” we loved it. Unfortunately hurricane Lee shut down our trip early-only was to get out was to leave Thirsday. This vrbo restored our faith in the company as a whole. The last few we rented had issues. None whatsoever here. Beds comfy, plenty o hot water. Huge kitchen, porch awesome for morning coffee. Did Arcadia, Bar Harbor, Canada including St. Andrews which was charming! Ate nothing but seafood for five days! Still didn’t try it all! This is a top notch place for families, great for me and wife who are both in 60’s too.

Beautiful, clean , perfect

This is our second time staying here. We fell in love the first time. As soon as you walk in you smell that the house was just cleaned and fresh. The house is perfect for a family and near all attractions. The host responded quickly to all questions and was a perfect Jose. Highly recommend.

Great Maine “camp”

We had a great stay. The house had everything that we needed and then some. We traveled to Acadia and Bar Harbor every morning and came back after lunch to kayak, swim and build a fire. The location is a bit remote (23 minutes to drive into town for groceries, etc..) but the flip side to that is we had the entire pond to ourselves most of the week. We only saw 1 or 2 other people the entire week. We would definitely stay here again.
