- Located on a gorgeous 32-acre property, this new-build 2BR/2BA home offers a tranquil oasis with the modern conveniences of home. Experience ultimate relaxation in the six-person barrel sauna, featuring a window with views of the forest and surroundings. The home features incredible custom woodwork, a wall of windows with serene views, an air-conditioning system in the bedroom.
Explore the wooded natural areas around the home. Or you're just an 8-minute drive to Franklin and 20 minutes to Ellsworth. For an amazing day trip, make a visit to Acadia National Park or Bar Harbor. Detailed with vaulted ceilings and a wall of windows, the welcoming living area is a prime spot to gather for movie nights. The immaculate kitchen is equipped with a full suite of stainless steel appliances, ample counter space, and a two-person kitchen island.
The home sleeps six guests between two bedrooms, a queen sofa bed in the living area, and a full-size bed in the loft. Please note that the loft is open to the living area below. The primary suite has a king bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Unwind on the attached screened patio and forest-view balcony. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, while an adjacent bathroom has a tub/shower combination.
Extra perks include complimentary WiFi and a private washer/dryer. The covered outdoor space has a gas grill and a two-person bistro table. Enjoy starlit nights around the wood-burning firepit.

Our hosts were incredibly welcoming--they made sure to have lights on so we could see when arriving in the dark, and as it was over the Thanksgiving holiday, they left us a gingerbread house to assemble (my 11-year-old daughter loved this!). They were responsive and the house was everything we needed for a refresh.

Beautiful peaceful cabin
We loved the cabin after long days hiking at Acadia National Park. If you are looking for a cabin off the grid- this is the place for you! The craftsmanship of the home was beautiful!!

Hilltop cabin
The cabin layout was awesome. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Quiet and very relaxing to return to after a day out running around. We enjoyed the ability to sit outside on the patio and relax and play games inside.

Great glamping stay
Quiet and isolated with generally great amenities. The sauna was very nice especially after a day of hiking. Appliances were also all fairly new and easy to use. Would book again

Perfect new cabin near Acadia!
This cabin was awesome-so perfectly furnished and charming in every way. We were close enough to go hiking every day in Acadia, but had such an amazing and comfortable (and affordable) place to come back to afterward! Stargazing and fire pit were so great. Pantry was stocked with complimentary snacks, too. All in all a great stay and we’d definitely come back.

Awesome!
The cabin was beautiful, very secluded, very peaceful and quiet. If you don't like the country it isn't for you but we loved everything about it.
Definitely recommend!

Beautiful Getaway
Our stay was mostly amazing, minus the issues with the grill. Although the cylinder was half full, the grill stopped working 20 mins into use. Even after following directions as written on the grill side, it would ignite and go out again. It definitely needs to be cleaned properly to get rid of all the buildup and grease underneath. That was disappointing since we had a BBQ meal planned and had to stop in between.
I love the clear driving directions but we would have appreciated some sort of lighting or at least radium stickers to show the pathway up the hill to the cabin, especially for when returning after sunset so that we know which way to drive.
Otherwise, stay was very comfortable, clean and well supplied.

Soothing
We had a wonderful experience staying here. The setting was perfect for us - secluded and heavily wooded. The only sounds we heard were of the winding stream and the wind rustling the leaves on the trees. The home was well-maintained and very clean. We were pleased to find the home as listed and as photographed.

We had our college student we were dropping off for Freshman year at UMAINE. We decided to make a little extended vacation out of it. We were looking for something decompressing & relaxing to take the edge off of our emotions dropping our baby off to the next chapter. This remote cabin in Franklin was perfect! It was located perfectly between Orono & Bar Harbor. We enjoyed family time and visiting the area of Bar Harbor! The cabin was clean, comfortable and sized right! I had a few questions and was answered promptly. I highly recommend!

Beautiful
This vacation rental was wonderful. It was very clean. The rental had every detail available that may need. We were impressed with how quiet the property was. The home was very comfortable. Very nice touch having folding chairs, cooler and small supplies that were needed for our trip. We would recommend for anyone that does not want the hustle of Bar Harbor. Just beautiful! Would rent again+

Beautiful Secluded Area
The house was situated at the end for a very bumpy dirt road. The outside area is beautiful lots of very large rocks. Hose was very nice lots of unique touches. Beds were comfortable. Internet is very slow, but they have movies to watch.

The Lazy Lumberjack Hilltop Cabin is a beautiful, fully functional home, with all the you need to live there minus the food. Very clean and comfortable beds and furniture. The 2 bathrooms are a plus. Heating was great. A gas grill outside was a life saver. Very private and quiet. If you are going to hike at Acadia or just go to Bay Harbor area is a 40 minute drive, very reasonable if you are comparing rates of were to stay. My friends a I were very pleased with the Cabin.
