Beautiful, peaceful retreat

Well maintained farm house is the perfect place to unplug. We hiked and drove back roads in Pendleton county.The lists of things to do, hand drawn maps, and lists of restaurants were handy.

Grandma’s house; home away from home.

We loved the property. Grandma must have been a great lady, her home so inviting and lovely.So quiet and comfy, just what we needed after hiking to Chimney Tops as a family. The bed gave me a wonderful night’s sleep.Her treasures gave her he place an extra level of beauty and conversations. Grandpa had wonderful taste and I am happy we had an opportunity to share the experience.Thanks for the wonderful stay!

This house was perfect for our little get away. Quite and remote with no wifi and cellphones. Made it enjoyable to spend quality time with my son. The house was very clean and a very welcoming home feelings when entering. Easy acces for parking. We look forward to booking next year during his next camp.

We enjoyed our stay and everything as as advertised. The instructions for getting there could have been a bit more clear because there are two different Tract Mountain roads in the area and it's kind of easy to get lost. There is a short and a long way to get there from 220.

Great stay in West Virginia

We enjoyed our stay at Grandma's House for one night while on a family vacation through West Virginia. The home was clean and had everything we needed. We would recommend to anyone. The location is quiet and secluded on the owner's family farm. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, even leading us on a hike up the mountain to a family cemetery. Thank you! We had a great time.

Charming and just as described!

This was a charming and comfortable house! Even smelled like my grandmother’s house a little when I walked in - in a good way! Make sure to go outside and look at the stars if staying here. We were able to see the Milky Way due to the lack of light pollution.

Great place to get away

We absolutely loved our quick stay after picking kids up from camp. This was a great place to unwind and get some quiet family time in before jumping back into life. The area is beautiful and the house was charming with everything you could need. We look forward to coming back again to unplug!

Property was just an old farm house. I didnt exspect much but i will say there is 3 channels 2 of which were info commerical channels. I have been in many old farm houses with family living in them. This one is in need of repair i was in down stairs bed room and once my friend was in upstairs bedroom i am sure the bed was comming through the floor the floor was bowing. Also there was no water pressure one point in the evening and little water pressure the rest of the stay.

Lovely country home

Grandma's house is a lovely home in a beautiful location. The home is very well taken care of and is quite comfortable. This was my second stay here and I look forward to staying there again in the future. Property owner is always quick to respond to any questions and is always very helpful with her responses. Highly recommend!!!

Come for a place to sleep, stay for a truly unique experience.

While the description and reviews state that this place is authentic, I had absolutely no idea just how true that would be. The house is situated on a large piece of very rural land with amazing views and a very private experience. In the entire weekend I saw one car pass on the road. The property owner /manager was top notch in that we never met or interacted during our stay, yet was only a phone call away. This is the private experience I was looking for. It really was as if mammaw was out of town and asked us to watch the house for the weekend. Every detail was spot on as far as the theme is concerned. Right down to the alarm clocks, hand written notes to help you use the old house without breaking it. This was really a very special experience and I really did not expect it to be. I would only suggest that a fire pit of some sort would be the icing on the cake on a starry night.

We really enjoyed our one night stay. The house was super clean and reminded all of us at our childhood & grandma’s house visits. It was quite, very remote without cellphone service. Grate brake from the every day city busyness.
