  • "The Birdhouse" (Guest Suite above the garage) has 1 bedroom (King bed ) and a spiral staircase leading up to a large sleeping loft (3 double beds). Full kitchen, dining room, living room, 1 bathroom. Very flexible ... works great for a couple or a small family!

    Equipped with Refrigerator, electric stove, Microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, cable TV & wireless internet, TV/DVD/CD player, Board games and cards. Small private porch with 2 chairs/table. Shared use of a large entertainment patio, and gas grill.

    "The Birdhouse" is unlike any other vacation rental you will find. It is artsy, charming, fun and frivolous. Kids love it – who wouldn’t love a spiral staircase, a sleeping loft, original art pieces, a cookie jar & lunchbox collection, resident mermaid, and magnetic letters on a vintage refrigerator door hung on the wall?

    Parents will love their private bedroom to relax in, a tidy kitchen to cook breakfast in, and the outdoor grill for dogs and burgers. Best of all, the beach is steps away, and downtown Frankfort is just a short stroll. Older kids can “run free” exploring the downtown, while young ones head to the beach with Mom and Dad.

    It's a 5 minute walk to the beach, to enjoy the water, sand & sunsets, or to downtown Frankfort for the movie theater, ice cream parlors, upscale restaurants, and shopping. Take a 15 minute drive to the "Cherry Bowl" drive-in theater with the kids and don't forget to stop at the "Cherry Hut" restaurant for their delicious cherry pie!

    The day is complete when you’ve returned to the beach for the sunset, or possibly even later to gaze at the Milky Way or watch for shooting stars.

    But the best part of all ... memories that will last a lifetime!

We had a wonderful stay in the birdhouse. The lococation was perfect, just 2 blocks from downtown and 1 block from the beach. We had 4 adults and 2 children and it was plenty of space for us. Host was very responsive and pleasant to talk to. We are definitely planning to come back.

Convenient, fantastic location

The owner communicated very well and check-in was easy. The location is really hard to beat. Amenities provided were outstanding. We never had to unpack our travel box.

Great place. Cannot recommend it enough. We needed to add a day and Jerry made it happen. Jerry communicated well and the property is lovely! Plan to stay again next year.

A Perfect Place

Our stay in ‘The Birdhouse’ was amazing! A safe, quiet, and well, perfect location, is steps from the stunning lake Michigan Beach and 2-blocks from quaint Downtown Frankfort! Along with its ideal location, the Birdhouse is spacious, exceptionally clean, and well-equipped in the kitchen and has many beach chairs - and umbrellas available for a beach day. Jerry is very responsive and accommodating. This place has everything you will need for a pleasant stay, and I highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful stay

We had such a wonderful time staying in the Birdhouse. It's super cozy and cute, just like the pictures. It was very clean and well appointed for our family of 4. There are so many thoughtful details like beach chairs and floats. The garage is so well organized and labeled for items for guest use. The patio space is beautiful and we really enjoyed the weber grills. Thank you for a great stay. We have been to Frankfort many times and this was our favorite place to stay. The proximity to the beach and town are unmatched!

Entire apartment was clean and comfortable. Bathroom and kitchen were very clean. Plenty of towels and other necessities. Apartment is well-appointed and neatly decorated. Wi-Fi & TV all good. We are a retired couple. Had no issues navigating stairway to reach entrance. Situated on a very nice, very walkable street. 5-minute walk to Frankfort Beach. Quick walk to Main St. - very close to excellent restaurants, bakeries and ice cream shops! Excellent value for comfort, cleanliness, convenience and amenities. Excellent host!

Excellent Location

Last few years we stayed in the Birdhouse as part of our annual reunion with our family. It is a great location , and the grandkids love it here.

Great location and great value

We loved the location and the instructions online were perfect. It was perfect for a family and my kids enjoyed the loft and games. The kitchen had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again! We had great communication with the host.

Cozy Eclectic Retreat

We had a delightful stay in The Birdhouse. It's very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, and the owners have thoughtfully ensured that you'll have everything you need for your visit. Lake Michigan is just down the street, so it was an easy walk to the beach for some nighttime stargazing. Definitely hoping to return.

Cute spot for small groups near everything in Frankfort

Well stocked and very thoughtful accommodations. Whimsical decor puts you in vacation mode immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend this place!

Honestly don't want to write a nice review because I want this place wide open whenever I want it!

Perfect location, describing it as "one block" to beach literally under states how close it is! All amenities are perfect, comfy king bed downstairs, plenty of space up. Great kitchen, just overall great deal and great hosts.

This is a cute and clean property in an excellent location. Walk to the beach and downtown shopping and restaurants. Owners are great communicators and thoughtful with amenities. Highly recommend!

Great stay in Frankfort!

This property was perfect for my family full of teens. Super close to the beach, cafes, restaurants and shops. The kids could explore on their own. We also had a lot of fun on the bike path at the end of our road. Played beach volleyball and had fun walking the pier. Perfect summer getaway! We will be back in the future! *The hosts have thought of everything! We had to repair a bike and we even found tools! Campfire in the evenings, beach chairs and first aid kits! Amazing hosts!

The perfect Frankfort location

The Birdhouse is the perfect gem in Frankfort, considering its proximity to both downtown and to the beach. The property is adorable, with fun touches around and plenty of games to play. They had WiFi, two TVs, and some books. We found the kitchen well stocked (drip coffee pot, pots/pans, dishes, silverware, etc). Dishwasher detergent and dish soap was included, as well as enough paper products for our family of 3. Washer and dryer available in the garage was a nice touch. There were plenty of towels for the three of us. The master bed was very comfortable, probably the most comfortable of any VRBO bed in recollection! Although there were only 3 of us we could have easily accommodated more guests due to the upstairs area. The owners were kind and communicative. We will be back!

Feels like home

Our accommodating, warm and friendly hosts made us feel at home even before we arrived. We loved the space, where we could enjoy many charming nooks to relax and share one another’s company, even with our teen! She loved her private loft! We played games and watched movies - generously supplied by the hosts. It was whimsical and clean and full of charm! The house is nestled among other beautiful homes on a quiet street, just a 5 minute walk to a STUNNING beach and the picturesque town filled with with coffee shops and other fun things to explore. Thank you for the perfect home for some much-needed time away together! We hope to be back.
