Beautiful

Gorgeous views over the estuary to Fowey, absolutely lovely apartment with everything we needed. Lovely touches on arrival with a bottle of fizz, nibbles & milk in the fridge. Thank you for that & the supply of coffee pods for the machine.Frequent ferry crossings to Fowey, lovely walks, however, you need to be fairy fit to cope with the steep streets & hills.

A Hidden Gem in Cornwall

Captain’s Cabin lived up to all we had imagined it would be. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and restful week. The ferries were a novel experience for us and a highlight was our ferry visit to Mevagissey. The outlook was enchanting and the property really comfortable, with attention to every detail. A recommendation I would like to make - we would have appreciated the use of a microwave. Also, as overseas visitors, we were not able to get access to Netflix

Excellent stay

What a great place! Wonderful bay window view of the bay, Fowey, and sunset. Kitchen is well-appointed, shower excellent, bed excellent, everything was great. Owners gave good information about location and local things to do. This is an excellent choice, look no further. A few things to be aware of about the town (Polruan): 1) the roads getting there are narrow (1-1.5 lanes), 2) the roads in town are too narrow for cars so you have to park above town and walk 7 minutes on paved lanes to get to the apartment (not a problem for us but worth noting) and 3) there's not a lot of grocery store options in town, so stock up before coming.

Idyllic and so relaxing !

Captains cabin is lovely. Not just the location, but the owners care about their guests comfort and provide many essential basics. We were especially lucky with the weather, but come rain or come shine this property is a wonderful place to holiday and explore the surrounding area.

Best accommodation we have had to date

This apartment gave us the best short break holiday we have had to date. Everything was spot on but what made it was the location, and the simply amazing view from the lounge bay windows and kitchen - overlooking Fowey and the river estuary - better than watching TV - with the world going past on water. Coastal walks were fantastic and what a refreshing change to go out on the local town by water taxi. The whole experience was fabulous!

Simply stunning

Absolutely amazing apartment, perfect base to explore either side of the river or just sit in the window seat for hours watching boats go by and people go about their business. Take away fish and chips from the Lugger are a must and if you get a sunny day then head back up to the carpark for sunset.

The best !

I really just wanted to move in and never leave. What a special, special, special home. Beautiful views inside and outside, and you felt very much part of a fishing village community. I especially liked how quiet it was and away from the tourist craze (even though I myself am a tourist!). Stay here, you won't want to leave either!

My husband and myself have not long returned from what can only be described as a perfect break …. The captains cabin was every bit as good as described and more …. We are already missing watching life out in the harbour through that wonderful bay window …

Stunning

The view from the sitting room window was spectacular. We had a wonderful time exploring new places , including the Eden Project and the Hidden Hut in Portscatho. Visiting St. Mawes and the surrounding area was a day of reminiscing for me as I holidayed there as a child. The Lugger was a great place to eat at the end of the day. I just wish we had stayed longer as there were so many more places we wanted to see. We had such a lovely time, thank you

We loved our stay in Polruan. The apartment was great for us. The view is mesmerising. The host was easily contactable and a pleasure to deal with. Make sure to take the ferry to Fowey. Thoroughly enjoyable stay 😊.

Stunning apartment!

We have just had the best long weekend at the Captain’s Cabin. Walking in, the view is exactly like the photos and it is so relaxing just taking it all in. The apartment was top class and we would re visit in a heartbeat!

A Nice Break

The property was just as advertised - well appointed and comfortable with all the necessities. Just watching the Fowey Estuary is so addictive - you can waste hours away you do need to be reasonably fit - climbing the path to the car park is a good short workout Overall a great place for a short break

Lovely flat with views over the water towards Fowey .Frequent ferry crossings. Comfy bed everything you could need . Fantastic bakery close by with fresh bread and homemade jam. Parking at top of hill but can drop off luggage at quayside.

Fabulous property with exceptional views

All previous reviews were entirely accurate. This is wonderful and cared for property with everything you need for a fantastic holiday. The views from the lounge window are wonderful looking across the estuary to Fowey. It is clear that the owners have a real love for this property as this is in evidence throughout the house. All communication was perfect, timely and more importantly accurate. Thanks to Jeremy and Mel for letting us use their house. We were really grateful for the Prosecco, milk and nibbles - that was a very nice touch indeed!

Traumhafte Aussicht in wunderschöner Wohnung

Die "Captain Cabin" ist eine Wohnung zum wohlfühlen!!! Alles sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail! Willkommensgruß und gut ausgestattete Wohnung, in der es an nichts fehlt! Dank der guten Informationen im Vorfeld durch Jeremy hat alles unkompliziert geklappt. Das Highlight dieser Wohnung ist definitiv die Aussicht aus dem Wohnzimmer!!!! Wir würden jederzeit wieder in diese wunderschöne Unterbringung kommen!

Lovely apartment with stunning view

The Captains Cabin is as lovely as described. Everything you need for a stay in beautiful Polruan. The view is something else, such a lovely scene to look out on each morning, and the daily crossing over to Fowey was a bonus. The Prosecco was a great surprise, and our host Jeremy was really helpful. I would recommend to anyone wanting to explore this fantastic part of Cornwall.
